## What is Soso?

We built Soso as parents. Soso is designed to be your (or your daughter's) first period tracker.

A place to learn, observe, and build awareness over time, without pressure, noise, or adult-focused content. It’s made to feel safe, clear, and supportive, both for kids using it and for parents guiding them.

When our daughter started asking questions about her body changes, what we found were apps made for adults, with content, language, and features that didn’t feel right for a first experience.

So we decided to build something different.

What Soso helps with:

- Soso focuses on understanding and learning first, then tracking comes naturally.
- Learn about cycle changes with clear, age-appropriate explanations
- Build the habit of noticing and logging periods
- Reduce anxiety by providing information at your pace
- Create space for conversations between parents and kids

Quizzes are the easiest way in. Instead of searching the internet, she can take a short period quiz or puberty quiz and get an answer written for her age. They cover body changes, first periods, menstrual cycle basics, moods and the things girls actually wonder about, and each one ends with a clear explanation rather than a score. Educational content she can explore on her own, with no ads and none of the adult material that surrounds most puberty and period content online.

Quizzes, right in the app

- Take quizzes without leaving for the browser
- Results are saved, so you can read yours again later
- Share a result with a friend as a card
- Search every article and quiz from the Learn tab

Visual cycle tracking

- Log periods with simple taps
- Visual cues and colors to reflect flow intensity
- Clear calendar view to see cycles over time
- Easy access to past logs and history

Daily guidance, gently

- Smart daily check-ins during a period
- Helpful prompts that guide without forcing answers
- No pressure to log everything perfectly
- The app adapts over time as more data is added

Mood & symptoms

- Optional mood and symptom logging
- Simple icons and language
- Encourages self-reflection without judgment
- Helps connect how the body feels over time

Built for families

- Designed by parents, for parents
- No social feeds or chats
- No adult content
- Private by design

Soso is not about comparison, performance, or social interaction. It’s about understanding your own body, at your own rhythm.

A calm place to start
Whether you’re just beginning to learn about periods and puberty or building confidence over time, Soso is here to support that journey with care. We’re building Soso thoughtfully, one step at a time, and we’re glad you’re here with us.

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2026-09-05*

I asked a question about dogs being able to tell when you’re about to start and she responded and made it simple but not consenting which is really cool also this app is awesome for tracking keeping track of emotions and feelings, and like the bit from the article at the bottom is just so cool that a person could take the time to write an article and share them with people I am so grateful for this app so yeah 10 stars except five stars but….

**Developer response:** Okay the dog question is my favourite thing anyone has asked me in weeks, and yes, I went and looked that one up properly. Also glad the article at the bottom landed. Someone actually sits down and writes those, so I'll pass the compliment along.

### 5/5 — Great for First Time Tween!

*2026-08-15*

I went through so many different apps with my daughter and showed her all the features, pictures, etc. She’s the one the made the executive decision that this was the app for her and I had to agree! Super cute! Super tween friendly! Very informative! She actually really likes getting on to input it all herself!!!

**Developer response:** okay your daughter picking me herself is the best part of this whole review. tell her i said hi. thank you both, really.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-08-09, version 1.8*

This app really helped me since my first period. It’s super friendly great and understanding. Honestly it’s great for worried people no matter their age. There is one thing that bothers me is Soso Plus. You have to pay to wright something about your period.

### 5/5 — Amazing!!,

*2026-08-07, version 1.8*

This app is amazing for tweens like me! (9-12) they help so much and make your period less scary!

### 5/5 — OMG YESSS

*2026-08-06*

Like my first period was sooo embarrassing and stressful. But with Soso I’m stress free fully fledged woman!! Like I was soo scared like what if my period hits me when I’m at my friends house or playing sports with my besties or anything really and most of the period apps are not appropriate for 12 year olds but thank u Soso 🥹🥹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🍫

**Developer response:** Going from sooo scared to fully fledged woman?? Okay that's the best glow up I've heard all week. The fear of it hitting at a friend's house or mid game is so real, and the whole point of me is you get a heads up instead of a surprise. And you're right, most apps out there just aren't made for someone your age, that's exactly the gap I exist to fill. So glad I get to be here for it with you.

### 4/5 — I mean it’s ok

*2026-08-04*

I got my first period at 9 and it was scary at first and then I found the period credits and it became disheartening that you have to pay to log your period it’s disgusting that you pay for everything and you should atleast give 40 or even 50 period credits and it should be you pay one time and just like 30 dollars or 20 make this happen please

**Developer response:** First, getting your first period at 9 when it felt scary, then figuring it out anyway? That's huge, and you handled it. On the money part, I really do hear you. Here's the honest why: I stay paid because it's the only way to be genuinely safe, appropriate and private, no ads, nothing creepy, nobody selling your info. A one time price sounds great, but the subscription is what keeps actual people building and protecting me instead of making money off you some other way. You've still got the free drops plus a free trial to log without paying yet, and mood logging is free too. And more drops? I'm taking that straight to mom and dad. Thank you for caring enough to say all of this.

### 4/5 — I love this app

*2026-08-04, version 1.8*

This app made me feel calm about when my next period hit but I hate how we have to subscribe and we only have I’ve free tries but I will delete this app and find a new one but don’t worry this is a good app

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-03, version 1.8*

### 5/5 — Thankyou💖

*2026-08-02, version 1.8*

Soso has helped me through sooooooo many tough days, it is seriously the best period tracker for girls. I’m twelve an I recently got my period. I TOTALLY recommend. LOVE U SOSO ❤️💖❤️💖❤️

### 3/5 — Was working for me

*2026-08-02, version 1.8*

It was working for me but then I ran out of credits and I was not allowed by my parents to get a subscription so we switched to a different app that works much better

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.11.0 — 2026-09-11

Quizzes live inside me now. No more hopping out to the browser. Pick one on the Learn tab, answer at your own pace, and I'll show you what I found.

I remember your results, so you can come back to them whenever you want. Found a good one? Send it to a friend as a little card. It opens right inside me, and if she doesn't have me yet, it takes her to the website.

The Learn tab has a search button now too.

### 1.9.3 — 2026-09-03

I was looking at how I talk in my other languages and, oof, it wasn't great. In Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian and German I sounded like a robot: "register this", "register that". Now I talk like a normal person, haha. And each thing has one name, the same on every screen, so nobody has to wonder if it's the same thing or not.

Those little English words that used to show up in the middle of my sentences at the very beginning, when we were getting to know each other, are gone too. If you picked one of those languages, that's the language I speak, start to finish. Tell me if I sound better now!

### 1.9.2 — 2026-08-14

Four things this time, and I'm kind of proud of all of them.

Okay so first, if you logged your first period on the wrong day, or you totally guessed the time, you can fix it now. Open your keepsake, tap "edit date and time", and pick the real moment. It's your memory, it should be right.

The Learn tab gives you something new 5 times a week now, so there's basically always a fresh little read waiting.

Getting a new phone? There's an "Import and export" in your profile now. It saves everything you've tracked into one file, so you carry it all over to the new phone and lose nothing. (Importing needs Plus.)

Oh and if you ever wondered where I get all the stuff I tell you, tap "Medical sources" in your profile. It's the actual research behind all of it. I don't just make it up, promise.

### 1.8 — 2026-07-17

Nothing flashy this time, just made Soso a bit faster and smoother behind the scenes. Small stuff, but it adds up.

### 1.7.3 — 2026-06-27

A few comfier touches, and more ways to track what your body's up to.

- Didn't write a letter to your future self when you marked your first period? You can write your 1-year or 10-year time capsule any time now, just open "My first period".
- Tracking knows your body a little better: pick more than one discharge at once, there's a new yellow option, and a gentler "low" level for cramps.
- Your Recent Logs show more at a glance now, your period color, cramps and discharge, all in one tidy row.
- Still waiting on your first period? Your home screen got a cozy glow-up, tap how you're feeling right at the top, peek at your mood week, and keep a little streak going.
