I’m sure it would’ve been a great app otherwise **Developer response:** Hi Matt, I’m sorry the membership came as a surprise after you spent time setting up your profile. That should have been clearer. Your first match on Soulmate is always free, and membership is only needed for future matches. A lot of upfront work, the app asks for you without presenting much for options. Seems like you’re speaking platitudes that wouldn’t necessarily be considered in a real date. Once you’ve filled out info, maybe a potential match every few weeks (giving a pass on this since it’s a new app), but I felt it was matching based on values/personality vs looks. Values and personality don’t matter if you aren’t attracted to the other person. It’s blunt, but the truth! If the app can fix that, I’d happily revisit! **Developer response:** Thank you for the thoughtful feedback. Soulmate is designed for fewer, more intentional matches. It is fun to complete and beautifully designed. The AI interface accurately summarized my conversations. It ask you questions like therapist getting to know you, and then matches you slowly as other ppl engage with the app. It almost feels too easy, compared to all the time I put into other dating app profiles, but the match results speak for themselves.
