But with the newer phones (iPhone 15 pro max), the Dynamic Island of the phone hides the scene name over the timecode on the main screen. A slight redesign is necessary and overdue to fix this. Also, it would be great to have more options to control the gain, faders and menu options from the app (Like the Zoom F8 Control app does). ### 4/5 — great till it stopped working *2023-05-04, version 5.02* 5-4-23 worked as intended until today. Not sure if it’s incompatible with a system update or what? The app will not stay open. It instantly closes itself. If I turn off Bluetooth the app will open but once it’s on the app closes. Still have issue where the app launches and when I try to input notes on past takes it backs me out of the app or when in I type I can't see my sentence after 3 words making me guess. If you aren't going to update this app like the 6 series now then just tell us and let 3rd party handle the app or make a new one. ### 2/5 — Love the App but DO NOT CHANGE track names while speeding!! *2021-05-30, version 5.02* The app has a great integration however don’t ever change names while rolling. This caused me to overwrite a 4gb file that was not possible to retrieve. If you download it please make sure you don’t enter the den of stress I went through because of this app. I keep using the app everyday but I respect the fact that the app is way limited to make any changes while speeding, hopefully they have a new update soon fixing such a huge problem. I hope this info helps my fellow mixers, thank god I always have a quad recording system as a backup, but the SD and CF cards on the 688 did not have the file I was looking for even after going through several data retrieving softwares. First time in 15 years something like this happened to me. Who would have thought the glitch would come from the app and the recorder in conjunction. Maybe technology needs a bit more of research before making it available to the world. ### 3/5 — I need more *2021-05-29, version 5.02* I will love to attach pictures on the notes, that will be really convenient when recording ambient or roomtones. Editable Q points on a viewable timeline like marks on protools. I have been using it for quite some time. It was sufficient in the beginning and worked really well ,but now I’m having trouble. It doesn’t load properly. I haven’t seen any improvements in the app for as long as I’ve been using it. I’m disappointed. Sound Devices has not updated. ### 1/5 — Everything disappeared *2026-04-12, version 5.04* After an entire day of shooting and nearly 100 logs recorded, all the logs disappeared. Wiped out for no reason. This is the most pathetic app that there is. The dongle is inexpensive, the app pretty intuitive and helpful. I find the Sound Devices Wingman app a great help in keeping up with last minute changes especially on fast moving commercials. The ability to change scene and take numbers and add or edit notes via a bluetooth keyboard connected to my iPad mini is great. Note that landscape mode is supported on iPads. Just be sure to keep recorder firmware and app versions current. ### 5/5 — Takes list improvements. *2017-08-03, version 3.00* The only things I'd like to see in the app are: 1. In the "Take List" tab, when recording, the take you are on should be highlighted RED. 2. Spell check integrated into the Notes section, It'll come in handy when quickly jotting down notes.
