## What is Sound ID · Baro?

What you hear never leaves your phone.

Sound ID turns your phone into a private ear. It listens through the microphone and names the sounds around you — a doorbell, a knock, a smoke alarm, a crying baby — entirely on your device. No internet. No account. No tracking. You can prove it: switch on airplane mode and it keeps naming sounds. Nothing is ever recorded or uploaded.

Built first for Deaf and hard-of-hearing users, and genuinely useful for anyone who wants to feel safer at home. A mic that listens to your whole home should answer to you alone — so it does.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN (THE WHOLE POINT)

**Developer response:** 알려 주셔서 감사합니다. 원인을 찾았습니다.

앱이 홈으로 나가거나 화면이 꺼지면 마이크를 끄고 있어서, 초인종·알람이 울려도 진동과 알림이 없었습니다. 다음 업데이트(1.2.17)에서는 듣는 중이면 잠금 화면에서도 계속 듣고, 소리가 나면 알림과 진동이 옵니다. 오디오는 여전히 이 휴대폰을 떠나지 않습니다.

업데이트 후에도 안 되면 lionandthelab@gmail.com 으로 기기와 어떤 소리였는지 알려 주세요.

Small wording, real difference: iOS asks for the permission itself, in its own dialog, and that is where the choice belongs. A button of ours saying "Allow" made it look like the decision was already made — so people stopped reading the one screen that matters.

Nothing about what the app does with the microphone has changed.
