### 2/5 — Reads 20+ Higher than Reality

*2026-08-17, version 1.0.2*

Compared to other db meter apps, this reads over 20db more noise.
You sit in a perfectly quiet room and it reads 60+ db.
Didn’t see a way to calibrate the app, but it sure needs one.

### 2/5 — Accuracy?

*2026-06-12, version 1.0.2*

I have a room insulated from sound for listening to hifi… yet this app shows 47db as what I would consider silence; go figure

### 3/5 — 30db above Apple Watch!

*2020-06-16, version 1.0.2*

App on iPhone 11 Pro Max is reading 30db above Apple Watch v4 !!

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2019-06-18, version 1.0.2*

Rubbish apparently silence is 60db???

### 1/5 — Runs false numbers.

*2019-05-11, version 1.0.2*

Sitting in a quiet household, it’s posting in the 63- 70 range. I think not.. it’s more like a 30-40 range. This does not work correctly.

### 1/5 — Poor

*2019-03-23, version 1.0.2*

It has decided my living room is the same as my work office 60 + dB

### 1/5 — Out to lunch

*2019-03-20, version 1.0.2*

Sitting in my quiet kitchen reads 80. Driving in my kenworth reads 96??
Garbage!

### 1/5 — Seems to run about 20db high

*2019-03-16, version 1.0.2*

Every time I used this it was 85+ db
Try the NIOSH app

### 1/5 — Does Not Work

*2019-01-31, version 1.0.2*

I got the same reading in my car with my stereo cranked as I did in my bedroom late at night laying in silence.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate

*2018-10-29, version 1.0.2*

Quiet room is still in yellow

### 1/5 — Does nothing

*2018-08-31, version 1.0.2*

I can sit in a quiet room and the decibels are as high as a semi truck

### 2/5 — Not confident in its reading

*2018-07-16, version 1.0.2*

Had it in my car, it was loud in my car with the wind noise and it read 96! Today was much quieter and wanted to know the difference. It stated the level was 94, sooo I yelled into the mike to see if the meter would change the reading? Nope. So confidence level diminished.

### 1/5 — Not accurate

*2018-05-26, version 1.0.2*

It shows an average 78 dB in a quiet library. You decide.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother!!!

*2018-04-21, version 1.0.2*

Very inaccurate! It reads 20-25 DB higher than 3 other sound measuring apps I tested it against. In a totally silent room at midnight, it is registering 58Db when the other apps are correctly stating 30-35 Db. Don’t waste your time or money on this app.

### 1/5 — Fake - incorrect sound levels

*2018-04-21, version 1.0.2*

Similar to most (all?) of the other sound meter apps, doesn’t correctly measure sound levels. Compared this against a real sound meter. Accuracy is 20-30 decibels off. Very misleading.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

*2024-07-15, version 1.0.2*

Il indique le double de mon sonomètre alors non passé à mieux

### 1/5 — DONT BOTHER

*2019-12-24, version 1.0.2*

So useless to the point it doesn't even detect sound, other apps work fine for me.
Just don't

### 1/5 — Simply doesn’t work

*2019-11-18, version 1.0.2*

I have tried using this for a few months and have no reason to believe it’s recorded a single accurate reading

### 1/5 — Sound meter

*2019-08-19, version 1.0.2*

If i could make it work i might be able to put something good in writing frozen and totally useless !!!

### 1/5 — Inaccurate sound levels.

*2019-08-03, version 1.0.2*

A quit Room in my home with only residual noise from the HVAC produced levels in the 70 dB range. This is grossly inaccurate.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2018-10-21, version 1.0.2*

I don’t have the means to test its accuracy, but this app is very sensitive. It’s easy to use, and I use it a lot. I still use the free version and the adverts are not at all obtrusive. One of the better apps.

### 5/5 — Love it!!!

*2017-03-09, version 1.0.0*

Good functionality. Displays running average and max--easily resettable. Ads are unobtrusive. I like it.

### 4/5 — Pretty close to my actual decibel meter…

*2025-01-05, version 1.0.2*

The app is convenient, and gives readings inline with my stand alone decibel meter…. App seems to be about 4-6 dB higher than my meter.

### 4/5 — A good guide.

*2017-11-11, version 1.0.0*

I find that when playing classical music at home on speakers, my average is 82db. This seems a little high to me but no way to calibrate.
