### 2/5 — Unfortunately very buggy

*2025-09-30*

Good when works. After couple recordings app just stops working, restarting doesn’t work at all. Only solution is to reinstall app

**Developer response:** Thank you for reporting the issue. Please email me so I can reproduce the issue. If it works at first and then stops working, maybe you changed some app settings?

### 4/5 — Need adjustable sample rate

*2024-03-01, version 2.3.5*

Would give 5 stars if the app could switch for higher sample rates

### 2/5 — Not free. Not for iPad

*2023-07-17*

Annoying paywall to change any setting. And this is formatted for a small screen.

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2022-10-23*

My only problem is that I cannot easily select the frequency range I want to look at. The pinch adjustment only works to look at higher frequencies, whereas I want the window to be able to be set not just to exclude low frequencies. Perhaps the ability to set the range manually… type in lower limit, type in upper limit.

I have not yet tried with various calibration files yet, but when I get an external microphone I will do this and see how well it works.

I basically need this app to measure sound sweeps and pink noise from various devices to check flatness of frequency response, and it seem to do ok at this. Price is right, and it has many options that will make most casual users happy.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. I realized that you are writing about the logarithmic scale. I did it!

To see each bin, use a linear scale with zoom. If you have any other wishes, be sure to let me know.

### 5/5 — Very nice app, but there is a one time payment of $3

*2022-04-10*

Most of the negative reviews seems to come from the fact that the majority of features are locked behind $3. It would be nice to have that stated in the description, but if you can look past that, it’s a really nice app. The UI can also be a bit difficult to learn, but the app is really accurate from my testing and does everything it promises to do.

### 5/5 — Отличное приложение

*2021-05-09*

Хороший функционал и весит мало

### 5/5 — Анализатор

*2021-02-21*

Отличное приложение которое имеет множество рабочих настроек, и позволяет производить измерение и анализ. Спасибо разработчику!

### 2/5 — Ruined by What it Said about the app

*2021-02-07*

I was surprised that it showed pictures that it has a lot of functions but nothing's real.

what a shame

### 5/5 — Almost perfect for my needs, but need small improvement👋

*2020-11-29*

Hi,

I was quite happy with this app. But some crucial request should be asked for my application. I am using a high quality microphone sampling rate is up to 192 kHz. I was quite happy this app showed the spectrum range up to 90KHz, but the actual measurements was roughly quadrupled, maybe because it only assumed 22kHz as maximum frequency.

I need an update to match with the actual spectrum.

Thanks in advance

### 5/5 — Best oscilloscope/frequency analyser I’ve tested

*2020-10-06, version 2.1*

I have tested 5 other similar apps but this one has everything I’m looking for in one package. Love the frequency text list for quickly knowing the harmonics. My new favourite app!

### 5/5 — Surprisingly decent!

*2020-08-15*

Great for quickly looking at the frequency of sound. Has paid options for more features, but doesn’t shove them in your face.

Surprised me with sound spike detection, to show frequencies of short bursts of sound (ex. Hitting something)

### 3/5 — Has lots of potential, but......

*2020-06-12*

Somewhat confusing to use. Not enough “tweaking” available to the user, such as allowing the user to select a specific frequency band. Only has 5 pre-selected bands. Also, has no indication or selection of which microphone on the iPhone is active. Doesn’t even explain if it’s using a specific mic, or an average of all the mics. Instructions for use could use better detail and explanations for users not so versed in audio analysis. Still, I like the app, but hope it gets better.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the suggestions! Please let me know if you have any other ideas for improvement.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs developer attention

*2025-06-12*

All sections are paid except for a few non-functional ones! I wish they would play ads, but all sections were open! It's really annoying right now.

**Developer response:** Not all functions are paid. And the blocked functions are available in the full version of the app for $3. It's almost free. Those who show ads collect information about users in order to better manipulate and force them to pay much more than $3.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-08-23, version 2.3.4*

There are no cursor is displaying the peak frequency. You cannot select a peak and see what f it is.

### 1/5 — All functions are hidden behind a pay wall

*2023-05-17*

Basic screen is dark and had to read. Functions can't be tested without paying, so I deleted the app.

### 1/5 — Completely junk!

*2021-01-29*

What a hack. BIG mouthful of promises what this app all could do. But this is just ahoax. In reality, at least until you may consider spending $$$$, you get nothing. No frequency analysis, 90% of the functions are not present and constantly you get bugged for money.
Don’t waste your time, with is Fraud.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t show frequency below 500hz

*2020-11-20, version 2.2*

Super annoying. Paid for the app seeing the screenshots shows it is able to measure below 500hz. Does not work on iPhone X. Left most is showing 500hz and cannot scroll any more.

### 1/5 — 極

*2020-07-29*

課金するのかよ

### 1/5 — Отстой приложение

*2020-06-20*

Практически ничего не умеет. За каждую доп. настройку просят денег.

### 1/5 — Txt?!

*2020-02-26*

I never see the save txt option, it only gives you wav file.

**Developer response:** It is necessary to select the data export format in the app settings. These settings are visible in the penultimate screenshot (in the App Store).

### 1/5 — Needs Better Callibration

*2019-11-17*

This app consistently responded to tones of known frequency with a peak that was at least an octave lower than the input tone.

**Developer response:** I checked the octave scale. I did not find any errors. The octave peaks correspond to the signal frequency. However, at a frequency of 40 Hz, my audio system creates a large additional oscillation at a frequency of 120 Hz, and therefore the peak is on another octave. This is visible not only on the octave scale, but also on the linear scale, on the time scale (Sound wave). Moreover, the higher the volume, the greater the difference between the peaks of 40 Hz and 120 Hz. If I use the app function "Test wave", then everything is correct.

Please send me an email with information on how you did the verification. We will find the reason for the wrong octave peak. If this is a bug in the application, then I will fix it.

### 2/5 — Not useful for me

*2026-01-15*

The first problem I see is the frequency range is limited to 500hz on the low end. While trying to find a setting that would expand this, it reduced the range again even narrower. If there is a way to set the high and low frequency range, I cannot find it. Moving on…

**Developer response:** You can shift the range of frequencies displayed by swiping right or left. You can make the range of displayed frequencies wider or narrower using two fingers.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-08-31*

Lots of options, works well with different light levels

### 5/5 — Best in class.

*2026-02-23, version 2.3.8*

This app has been my go to for spectrum analysis, accuracy is unmatched and the extra features are best bang for buck out there. I’ve tried the other offerings and they’re so gimmicky and focused more on looking good for waaaay too much money.

### 5/5 — HAHAHAHA

*2025-03-23*

made someone kick out someone else

### 5/5 — An astonishingly good App

*2025-03-06, version 2.3.5*

[UPDATE]
Please ignore my little niggle … After closing and re-opening the App, the presentation is clean !

Worth every penny of the £2.99 upgrade price !

Just one little niggle … After buying, the money-bag icon still appears in the pop-up window. Surely purchasers deserve a clean presentation [!]

### 5/5 — Nice

*2024-07-21, version 2.3.5*

Even design is great, thank you

### 5/5 — Great

*2024-06-09*

Glad I found this one. I had tried a few other apps but they didn’t give very good results. The paid version is definitely worth it.

### 5/5 — Best audio spectrum analyzer on iOS

*2024-01-01*

I had a similar app on android and was sad to find the iOS versions lacking until I found this one. This was an easy purchase and the free version actually does quite a lot. I mostly just bought it to show appreciation. Other apps have subscription based models which is ridiculous to me. The interface for this is really clean and it’s just what I want when I’m curious about the frequency of sounds around me.

### 5/5 — Very well thought out UI

*2023-08-17*

This is a very well set up app. There is a good amount of built in help, with some online help available. Price (one time) is good. App functions well with a lot of customization/adjustments available. Well done guys!!

### 5/5 — Great for speaker design

*2022-06-18*

I’m a novice speaker builder. I had designed some speakers, used WINISD and Vituix CAD to design the box and crossovers and had the speakers hooked up. I had tried to used Room EQ Wizard, but to no luck. I had problems with a calibrated Mic, getting the software to work right etc. So, I needed some tool to measure the speakers and found this. This tool allows the IMM-6 mic and gives me enough to measure the speakers. The support is fantastic, timely and thorough. I can get the data out, screen grab the graph etc. The price is fantastic, and for those that had problems with the tool not giving them enough for free, it’s only a couple bucks. And for what the designer provides, that’s more than fair. For anyone building their first speakers (maybe even more advanced) this is a great tool.
