I’m glad it was fixed recently. ### 4/5 — I recommend *2025-04-01* The app is almost perfect, i only have a couple complaints though, the app doesn’t have a way to shorten the release of the instruments, nor attack and sustain, it would be fantastic if this was added. My other complaint is that the app will sometimes crash garage band if you have too many soundfont players, I’m not sure if it’s this, or garage band. But overall, i highly recommend this if you use garage band. ### 4/5 — Regarding version 2.30.8 *2025-02-14, version 2.30.8* Although this works great on iPadOS, this app won't validate as an AU using Logic Pro on macOS. It used to work for a while… I'd love to be able to use it again on desktop. ### 4/5 — Best plugin I’ve ever used, just one problem left *2024-12-31* The only problem is that the instruments convert to sine waves every single time the performance is optimized (which happens A LOT in GarageBand). If this problem was fixed, than it would definitely be a 5-star app! **Developer response:** Thanks for reporting your version. Version v2.30.6 has a fix that I hope alleviates your issue. ### 4/5 — AMAZING IDEA! But doesn’t always work as intended *2024-11-30* Overall I’m glad I got it, because when it’s working it’s very easy to download and use soundfonts from a ton of games. It does completely tweak out and forget it exists sometimes though. When it does this, you have to either reload the extension or possibly re-add all of the fonts back. You can’t really share the music unless you screen record it or something similar, and upon opening there’s a good chance you need to reload a ton. I love this app, because I can’t find anything else designed like it, but in order for it to really be useable it can’t glitch out like this… 💔 ### 2/5 — Keep crashing/loosing files *2024-11-25* I really like this app but it keep crashing and loosing every SoundFonts I add, causing to loose data on every GarageBand files that use it… Edit 25.1.2024: par pitié met à jour l’app. Edit 25.11.2024: App got an update hooray!! Now it doesn’t work AT ALL on GarageBand AAAAAAAAA ### 3/5 — Can you please fix this. *2024-11-24, version 2.30.2* The app keeps crashing and ejecting all of the soundfonts out of it when I don't use it for a while. It's very annoying. Can you please add a big patch that fixes it? ### 3/5 — Stopped working? *2024-11-16, version 2.30.2* I love this app and it’s really improved all of my GarageBand music projects but it randomly stopped working on my iPhone? Like every time I enter it it just crashes and sends me back to the Home Screen. ### 3/5 — Convenient, but tedious. *2024-11-05* It is incredible at providing new SoundFonts to GarageBand, but it crashes way too often. Sometimes, the app would forget about my added fonts, and replace it with sine waves, and I would have to manually change every single track back to its original sound. So, be prepared to do that again and again when you download the app. ### 4/5 — SoundFonts version 2.30.2 *2024-10-30* Although this works great on iPadOS, this app STILL won't validate as an AU using Logic Pro on macOS as of October 30, 2024. I have submitted an update that should restore this functionality. ### 4/5 — This might not be the apps fault but: *2024-10-22* There’s a very big glitch and usually when i close the app (usually) all my soundfonts just go to this little beep noise and i have to choose them all again. it’s extremely annoying but the soundfonts are good, i think currently one of the top reviews also talks about it, i recommend this it’s just extremely tedious for it to just reset. If you can, can you fix this? ### 5/5 — Excellent! *2024-06-17, version 2.30.0* Does exactly what it promises, gives access to all your Soundfonts that have been gathering dust for 20 years, and then gives you a whole lot of it’s own samples - with flawless AUv3 integration in your favourite App or Daw. Regular updates bringing new features - which is never a bad thing - and they’re obviously putting a lot of effort into developing it further; now with integrated effects and other great features for standalone use. Can’t use at all. 7.99 gone. ### 1/5 — Currently unusable *2024-11-13* I am an avid user of this app, as someone who is really used to garageband’s Ui being able to use SF2s is incredibly helpful. However I haven’t been able to use it for WEEKS because it keeps loop crashing on itself so hard GarageBand thinks it doesn’t even exist! Due to hardware restrictions my tablet is stuck still on ios 15-16, and yesterday when i went to work on my music all soundfont instruments stopped. usually this is just a semi annoying bug that fixes itself upon restarting garageband, but when i went to close the program which usually results in a crash and fixes the issue, i returned to my projects list. I then checked the soundfont instrument in garageband and after 5 MINUTES of loading the screen said i didnt have soundfonts installed. However, after updating to iOS 26, I started having issues with the plugin not being able to load. I tried redownloading GarageBand and the Soundfonts app, but I still had the same problem with it crashing and being unable to load. I think this is an essential app that makes GarageBand even better, so I really hope this is fixed. Thank you! ### 5/5 — Excellent app, responsive and helpful developer *2025-07-23* I downloaded this app after my partner showed it to me and it blew my mind, I had no idea such a thing existed. Initially I had trouble integrating it with Garage Band on my iphone, emailed the developer and they got back to me within hours with a solution that completely solved the problem. This is the order of steps I took that solved my personal problem (no sound coming through the audio unit in GB): closing Garage Band completely, uninstalling Soundfonts, restarting my phone, redownloading Soundfonts, opening Soundfonts and THEN opening Garage Band—problem solved.
