### 4/5 — iOS

*2025-03-31*

Not working in iOS devices please launch iOS version

### 3/5 — No Availability Headphone Options

*2024-12-05, version 4.5.3*

There’s no option to pick another headphone brand other than the pandas. Although the official website states most headphones are compatible including the Sony which I have.

### 2/5 — Only shows three headphones models

*2023-12-18, version 4.4.44*

For some reason there’s no headphones profiles at all like a few BT models and ear buds a shame cuz even trailer shows all the pro studio headphones.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-04-02*

Unable to connect my drop pandas even with trying to get help from the troubleshoot it keeps saying “Unable to connect”
“Something went wrong while connecting your headphones”

### 1/5 — Lies

*2023-03-03, version 4.4.23*

None of the “supported” headphones are on the App Store version so thanks for wasting my time

### 1/5 — Only 4 supported headphones? What?!

*2022-12-29*

I don’t understand what’s going on here. On the desktop app sonarworks supports an incredible amount of headphone profiles, and in the videos I watched it seemed like that was the case for the mobile app too, but when I downloaded it for iOS in the setup it’s only giving me 4 headphone options, rather obscure ones at that. None of which I have. I can’t seem to get around having to choose one, so I’m not sure if I could use this app in any way. I don’t really care if they have my headphone profile, all I want is to access a custom eq so I can bring down a high shelf and cut down on ear fatigue from these bright headphones, but can’t figure it out how to get past the setup. Help! Am I missing something? I’ve had a lot of respect for sonarworks until now so I’m really vexed by what they’ve made here

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for your review!
The SoundID mobile app on iOS supports only SoundID integrated headphones. This means that in order to take advantage of SoundID on iOS, you would need to own one of the 4 headphones listed in the app. Unfortunately, it is not possible to select other headphones in the app on iOS at this time, sorry for that. You can consider checking out the SoundID app on Android as it will provide more options and you will be able to select other headphones as well.
Thanks for your feedback on this, we appreciate it.

### 3/5 — No iOS?

*2022-12-03, version 4.4.15*

Finding the ideal setting for my Sony WMX3 earbuds was a piece of cake. But, the app doesn’t work with iOS, bit pointless really.

### 3/5 — Confused

*2022-11-11*

How do I know if my SoundId is working? I play music on Spotify I hear no difference?

### 4/5 — Looks good

*2022-11-10, version 4.4.10*

Only good because of ui and don’t know why my turtle beach 50 headphones arent that old the app should be better and accept all headphones wether there old and new

### 3/5 — Not quite there yet

*2022-10-31*

Big disappointment that calibration really only works on 4 specific types of headphones. Any common pairs like airpods or studio headphones, you are limited to listening to pointless little ringtone type songs within the app. You CANNOT listen to streaming services, or anything else.

And unfortunately, even if you DO have one of the four that can save Sound Id profiles on it, they don’t connect half the time, I find myself constantly hitting “forget this device” and re-pairing my headphones to get the app to recognize them. Please work on this more, it has SUCH POTENTIAL.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback! You're quite right, the iOS version of SoundID will offer profile creation since the application is working in the Demo Mode. However, you're welcome to install SoundID Listen Beta our Desktop app, the SoundID profile you've created will be synced and the calibration will be applied on the system output level: https://www.sonarworks.com/soundid/desktop

### 1/5 — Guess my Expectations Were Too High

*2022-10-23*

I had written before about the lack of accessibility of this app for blind folks. I had hoped the developers might actually do the right thing and make this app useable by everyone. I suppose that is still too much to ask.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for the update! Our development team has taken note of your feedback. We are interested in making this possible, however, this update might take some time. Apologies for any inconvenience and we hope this will make a positive impact once ready and released. Many thanks!

### 1/5 — Completely inaccessible for blind, and visually impaired users

*2022-10-05, version 4.4.5*

I wanted to try this app, but using Voiceover, the screenreader built into iOS, I could not activate the button on the first screen. Let’s work to fix this, so blind and visually impaired users can enjoy better sound. it’s rather ironic that the group of people who rely on their ears, the most, and who are probably some of the best critical listeners around, cannot benefit from your app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-07-08*

Requires one of 4 very specific headphones to work, otherwise kicks you to the curb.

Can't access the A/B, let alone even see any of the app functionalities to see what it *could* do.

Don't bother, even for research purposes.

### 1/5 — Crashes with ios 26

*2025-09-21*

The application crashes with the latest version of iOS when uploading to my monoprice monolith earbuds

### 1/5 — Not working on my device

*2025-08-01*

The ios version does not even work. All I see is a sorry we are facing technical issues right now 😕

### 1/5 — Not compatible with AirPods

*2024-12-23*

I researched for an app that could give personalization to the audio for my AirPods Pro, and I found SoundID. It seemed very promising, but when I opened the app, it wouldn’t let me proceed until I had picked one of FOUR earbuds that I had never heard of. This app does not work for standard earbuds like AirPods, beats, JBL, or anything. Before you download, make sure your earbuds are compatible.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect

*2024-06-24*

Did everything in troubleshooting and it never connected. Deleted.

### 1/5 — Not for Apple

*2024-04-06, version 4.5.1*

Very limited use with Apple devices, the idea sounds very good but of no use to me with JBL:-(

### 1/5 — No sound ID for AirPods Pro.

*2023-10-04*

No AirPod Pro support.

### 1/5 — iOS is fishy

*2023-08-15*

I feel like apple has a hold on you here. I use SoundID formally Sonarworks Reference on my Mac since the dawn of time and its amazing. Checked out this app hoping I can get a similar experience but looks like this is only a marketing gimmick.

### 1/5 — Pretty much pointless on Apple

*2023-05-20, version 4.4.29*

There’s only 4 headphones supported and they are very unpopular headphones that most people don’t have so I’m not really sure what the point of this app is on Apple. I know on android there’s 400 or so supported headphones. Maybe this is more on apples fault than SoundID but either way this app is pretty much a waste of time on IOS.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-04-18*

Only supposed four headphone models. If you have any other pair of headphones like 99% of us do, you’re out of luck.

### 5/5 — Sound is problem

*2024-06-27*

To the creaters of sound I’d can u please make the app on iOS devices to where we can select different brands of headphones please and thank u

### 5/5 — Helped my Momentum 2’s

*2024-02-26*

They typically have a over boosted bass in my opinion, but with this app I was able to EQ some of it out and really clear up the sound. The app
Is really simple and fast as well. Would recommend.

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for your review! We're glad to hear you are having a positive time with the SoundID app :)

### 5/5 — Sound ID

*2023-04-01, version 4.4.24*

Awesome

### 5/5 — Sound App

*2022-11-12, version 4.4.15*

Made my Sony MX4 sound night and day. Just need to get to grips with the UI, when that happens it’s a five star.

### 5/5 — I love this app, changes the feel of headphones for the better

*2022-11-07*

I love this app, changes the feel of headphones for the better, plenty of headphones they have done eq for but for some reason all of my headphones I put in the app are gone on pc and app now? Only my audiotechica ATH-AD700x are still on it. None the less, this program is a game changer

### 5/5 — Greatest App

*2022-10-25*

Just changed the way of listening through my headset

### 5/5 — One of the best apps I have ever used

*2022-06-30*

The person who thought of such idea has to be a genius. I have a condition in which I can’t hear higher frequencies clearly in my right ear. This app optimised the sound according to my hearing. Great job!

### 5/5 — So frustrating to not be able to choose a profile

*2021-11-27, version 2.0.31*

I don’t get why I can’t just choose a flat profile. Such a bad feeling doing the same test again and again only to refine a sound profile I don’t like. Absolutely love your company and i ve purchased the full soundid and reference 4 in the past however this feels strange and more like a cold research project rather than a utility and fun one at the same time.

Edit: I had no idea you could do that thank you so much for replying!

### 5/5 — Great

*2021-04-08, version 2.0.19*

Enjoying the improved sound on my Bose QC20’s. When do you expect the Connect SoundID anywhere app ? to be released in Australia? For streaming.

### 5/5 — Pure Listening Pleasure

*2020-06-05, version 1.0.49*

"SoundID works with the phone, speakers, or laptop you already have and delivers an instant upgrade to your listening pleasure. You no longer have to be in an ideal audiophile listening environment to experience the mix as it was intended for your ears. Best of all, your personalized SoundID is saved and can be used with any new devices or speakers that you may use in the future."
