### 5/5 — Still incredible sound tapestry machine!

*2019-08-21, version 1.9.6*

Still nothing on the App Store that compares with the sound tapestries and FX you can make with SoundScaper! And it always has been a stable design too.

### 5/5 — Great experimental tool

*2019-07-15, version 1.9.5*

This thing is amazing, so concise yet with so many opportunities to manipulate and experiment with sound. The interface looks intimidating at first but starts to make sense pretty quickly, and has a very intuitive feel once you get your head into it. Love it, definitely worth the money.

### 5/5 — Wow!

*2019-06-07, version 1.9.5*

SoundScaper is without peer. Well thought out, well executed, and... fun.

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2019-03-28, version 1.9.5*

Essential experimental music app.

### 5/5 — Mind blowing

*2018-02-26, version 1.9.5*

This dev is incredible.... I have this and FieldScaper and they both genuinely utilise the iOS interface in a way that feels like they break new ground in terms of instrument/fx interfaces. Beautiful, deep apps for ambient and experimental sound design. Excited to see what this guy adds in updates and what other apps he creates. Get the feeling that if he wanted to he could create a sequencer app that would totally destroy the Octatrack...which some of the functionality and sound design on this app reminds me of...

The only additional things I’d love to see would be full AUv3 version updates for streamlined use in BM3 and also the ability to use the Apple files app, so I could bring in a ton of samples and organise them in to folders.

In terms of actual features, there’s enough here already to last for years of exploration. Half of it I don’t fully even understand yet.... would be cool to be able to ‘video’ finger movements on the reverb section etc and have the recorded automation playback in automation loops, like in iDensity. And to be able to have sync tempo divisions for transport sync with other apps...But these kind of requests are just for fun, and maybe this stuff is already possible even and I just haven’t stumbled on it yet. this app is already insane value for money and anyone in to experimental should grab it straight away.

### 5/5 — Just incredible

*2017-11-19, version 1.8*

This is one of those apps that are totally addictive and immersive - the sheer variety of soundscapes that can be generated is mind blowing. Only been using it for a day or so and I'm hooked just on using the inbuilt scenes and playing around with the controls. I'm looking forward to more in-depth creativity as I explore all the options.

### 5/5 — Must Have

*2017-02-21, version 1.8*

The possibilities with this app seem endless. I've tried dozens and dozens of sound makers, synths, sequencers, etc - they all felt like variations on the same set of features. This is the first app I've tried that really made new sounds in new ways.

Always surprising, amazing depth.

### 5/5 — Deserves 6 stars

*2017-02-01, version 1.8*

I've been using this app for months. It is beautifully designed, reliable, and utterly unique in it's approach to sound design. The documentation is clear enough to spark a million creative pathways, and the possibilities are truly endless and singular. Thank you!!!

### 5/5 — Sweet

*2016-12-05, version 1.8*

Been waiting to play with this and it's very very cool. The only thing that can make this better is a little internal sampling utility to capture sounds right in instead of importing. Great Software!! Buy it.

### 5/5 — Fantastic original improves with updates

*2016-09-20, version 1.8*

This was great to begin with, totally unexpected but awesome update. This creates stuff impossible elsewhere. Love it. Review updated again with latest morphing update, still 5 stars!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-09-10, version 1.7.2*

It's audiobus compatible . It's a great app for making interesting sonic landscapes . You can import a audio sample and then manipulated it into something amazing . Or twist knobs on the presets and also make amazing soundscapes . Thesoundtestroom on YouTube has a great review of this app !i

### 1/5 — No sale?

*2023-03-26, version 1.9.8*

Web advertised sale, no sales on App Store, scam advertising?

### 1/5 — Impossible to use

*2019-12-03, version 1.9.7*

what is so hard about adding simple add and delete functions to individual sounds?

### 1/5 — No funciona

*2015-02-20, version 1.0*

### 3/5 — Where is AU3?

*2023-04-17, version 1.9.8*

Complex, strange, sometimes wonderful. But let down by the lack of AU3 support.

### 3/5 — Mise à jours

*2019-08-17, version 1.9.5*

### 3/5 — Fun but no bluetooth

*2019-01-01, version 1.9.5*

Lots of fun to play with, but I can’t get this app to play through Bluetooth headphones which all my other music apps do without problems.

### 3/5 — Very deep but needs a new default sound loaded

*2016-01-27, version 1.5*

This synthesis app is very deep, but needs an introduction somehow as to its capabilities and how to approach it. Upon pressing play when first loading the app, the sound loaded is not very pleasant, and I was searching hard for a way to turn it off. Would love to see a help function that provides a legend to each control.
I buy practically every synth app in Itunes, but at present, despite its capabilities, I would recommend this after learning synth fundamentals. Still, has great promise if it only had even a video link that provides a brief introduction.

### 3/5 — Update glitchy

*2015-03-25, version 1.1*

Loved this, and it worked fine on my ipad 2, and great in Audiobus until the last update. Now it stutters, crackles and glitches even in standalone mode.

Unusable for me now, which is a shame.

### 4/5 — Amazing

*2023-02-08, version 1.9.8*

Wow. So much to explore here! Thank you. This is a really comprehensive tool for experimentation. Also great MIDI implementation and really detailed control in general. An Auv3 Version would certainly be great though for stability. I hope this will be updated at some point.

### 4/5 — Fein

*2018-01-24, version 1.9*

Fein, 5 Sterne wenn universal iOS

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Incroyable application.

*2024-05-02, version 1.9.8*

Très impressionnante application, un must have.

### 5/5 — Simply the best

*2024-03-08, version 1.9.8*

This is my favourite sound design app of all time - Instant entrancing sonic landscapes that you can tweak to your heart's desire. I'd give it more stars if I could.

### 5/5 — Incroyable !

*2023-12-21, version 1.9.8*

### 5/5 — Extremely cool and powerful once you UNDERSTAND it

*2023-02-18, version 1.9.8*

It’s esoteric in design and you will need to understand how it works. At first it’s like “does this just make wind sounds?” No, load up the various demos and learn how to use it.

I am using this to generate wild background sounds for my electronic music project. It’s like it was tailor made to do that, and in a way it’s genius. If you’re not going to learn it, don’t get it.

### 5/5 — A wonderful puzzle

*2021-09-02, version 1.9.7*

All of Igor’s apps are wonderful puzzles. Part of the enjoyment is figuring out what they actually do. Once you understand 5% you realise that this guy is a genius. The manuals make no sense to me, the interfaces are baffling and sometimes I wonder why I bother. Then it happens. Once it happens I stop thinking about chord progressions and scales and music as we know it.
If you want to expand your musical mind then buy his apps, lose yourself and find something you didn’t know was possible.

### 5/5 — Jewel

*2021-04-24, version 1.9.7*

It is amazing what you can do with this app. Hats down for the developers and I am sending my big THANK YOU to you all. Please make more apps.

### 5/5 — Mind Blowing!!

*2021-03-11, version 1.9.7*

The amount of things one can do with this app will twist your brain! Super powerful, super complex at times! However deep one wants to dig and explore is only limited by ones own creativity. I still haven’t master this app, but it is so much fun and twisted! I own FieldScaper as well! This developer has put out some top notch stuff!!

### 5/5 — Entertaining, inspirational, intelligent and challenging!

*2020-07-12, version 1.9.7*

I won’t say this app is perfect or even comprehensible for everyone, however if you do read the manual the developer included in the app, and use it to experiment and learn what this app is truly capable of doing to both short/simple sounds and long/complex recordings or ambient mixes, you will be endlessly entertained, thoroughly surprised, and possibly (like me) inspired by multiple idea types. This is a very in-depth sound editor, which introduces users to sequences run by algorithms that control or filter audio output. Got me learning about circuit-bending and binary code, but as someone who admires patterns and textures in general regardless, I have fun whether goal oriented or not every time I open this app. I would only love to see AUv3 be supported in the future, but the app runs well through AUM as IAA so the main difference would just be convenience. I can’t think of another app that I’m so quick to pause my music for in order to use. {5 Stars, suggested: AUv3, easier sample import, custom theme color panel, clearer button labels} By the way these are simply ideas, not complaints. Get this app.

### 5/5 — Incredibilmentedivertente

*2019-12-18, version 1.9.7*

### 5/5 — Insane and addictive

*2019-12-01, version 1.9.7*

I happily lose myself for hours in this mad professor’s laboratory. I’ve used it live as a shifting backdrop for my S.E.T.I. performances as well as on my cd releases and it never fails to deliver fantastic other-worldly sounds. Hats off to the developer!
