### 5/5 — Great selection of soundscapes

*2020-04-18, version 1.1*

Love this app. Great user interface and selection of sounds.

### 5/5 — I really love these, but

*2020-04-11, version 1.1*

I'm waiting for someone to record the sounds of the thunderstorms that I grew up with. I grew up about a mile away from the intersection of HWY's 270 and 367 in North St. Louis county. What you hear during thunderstorms here is the sound of the thunder ricocheting down the limestone bluffs surrounding the Mississippi/Missouri river confluence and continuing down the Mississippi. Alton, Illinois would be another good spot.

### 5/5 — A true gem ;)

*2020-04-11, version 1.1*

Incredible nature sound tracks, from the farthest places on Hearth.
Hours of playlists to travel virtually and reconnect with nature.
This is what we need in those quarantine times!

### 5/5 — Amazing selection of soundscapes!

*2020-04-11, version 1.1*

I am quite impressed by the astounding variety of immersive soundscapes featured in this app, gathered by such a talented group of recording artists in remote wild areas around the world. Highly recommended for those who want to be serenaded by the pristine voices of the natural world.

### 5/5 — Doug Quin soundscapes and more

*2020-04-10, version 1.1*

Doug’s pieces feed my soul and connect me with nature even when I’m bound to mostly urban life. Thank you for taking me to these places with the full experience of the sounds of nature. So many talented artists on this app!

### 5/5 — Doug Quinn compositions.

*2020-04-08, version 1.1*

Omg!!! Your soundscapes are amazing. I got chills. It really felt like I was there with the seals, ducks and kingfishers.

### 5/5 — Pratique pour se concentrer

*2020-04-08, version 1.1*

Je travaille avec les ambiances sonores. C’est très beau et immersif ;)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Looked good but

*2020-08-05, version 1.6*

You have to subscribe and pay. There are plenty of free apps with no time limit.

### 2/5 — Check if you’re being charged

*2021-05-23, version 1.13*

This app is okay but I cancelled after the free trial and they kept charging me for a subscription for a number of months before I realized.

### 2/5 — Good app, but needs a lite version like Calm

*2021-01-01, version 1.12*

I don’t object to paying developers and artists, but the library is pretty limited for the fee and it’s an “all of nothing” subscription. Why not have a lite version with some free sounds like Calm? This forces you into a 30 day trial after a few days and then into a paid sub to access anything. The need to force me into a trial and sub puts me off. I have plenty of apps that are just as good, so I’m afraid this is now deleted.

### 3/5 — Mixed bag

*2021-12-21, version 1.13*

There are some very good, long soundscapes that sound great. Unfortunately there are also far too many short soundscapes, which are of limited use (e.g. 5-10 minutes). Since there is no looping, they simply come to an end.

There are also several sounds that have only novelty or curiosity value (e.g. music performed by a chicken!).

The foundations are here to build something really good (e.g. the tagging and categorisations of sounds make it easy to find and explore stuff), but there needs to be a firmer editorial hand on the consistency and style of content.

### 3/5 — I miss the pictures

*2020-04-11, version 1.1*

I have several nature sounds apps so to find one limited to 60 seconds listening unless I subscribe is distressing. Considering how many apps I have if even a small percentage go to subscriptions I will have to delete them. I really miss seeing an image of the location featured in the sound recording. I found the interface on iPad rather awkward. I would tap on a file to play it but then it would pop open to a new window and I have to press play again. The soundtracks seem to be good quality. Imagine if they had video! OK so maybe not everyone is as captivated as I am with watching and listening to water flowing over rocks or waves breaking onshore or wind blowing in trees.

### 4/5 — No new tracks for awhile

*2025-11-10, version 1.18*

I started playing this during my meditations. Sooo much better than electronic nature sounds. If you market that I bet you’d get more interest. I’m guessing that’s why no new tracks in years.

### 4/5 — Love this, but…

*2025-02-26*

I love these. However I really wish there was a way to turn off Auto Play that plays a random soundscape after the one I selected. It’s very jarring.

### 4/5 — Broken app

*2024-08-30, version 1.14*

After my trial expired, the app constantly crashes each time I try to open it. The last app update is from 2 years ago… really? The sounds are truly beautiful, but this is meant to be a relaxing experience not a frustrating one.

### 4/5 — Stopping in the middle

*2022-06-08, version 1.14*

I don’t know if anybody else has had this problem but if your not subscribed it always pauses in the middle of the sounds. I subscribed and it still did that. Other than that I love it, it’s great!

### 4/5 — Bed time assistant ?

*2020-08-29, version 1.7*

Although I haven’t been able to use this app to its fullest extent, just yet, I find it find it and it’s possibilities truly exciting, thank you I can’t wait until I have used and explored this app to it’s fullest potential.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Appealing Sounds

*2022-06-23, version 1.14*

This is a great app. Natural sounds for all occasions. Beautifully recorded. Ideal to block out the world, improves focus and concentration when required but a soundscape is available for all moods and needs.
Great for the commute

### 5/5 — Wonderful collection of soundscape recordings

*2022-01-09, version 1.13*

Full disclosure : I’m one of the participating recordists on this App but even if I was not, I would recommend it for excellent quality and diversity of field recordings and rich acoustic spaces. Well worth the price of admission.

### 5/5 — Precious peace for the mind and soul

*2021-07-08, version 1.13*

I am not able to properly encapsulate how very much I adore this application. Pure nourishment of the highest order for the brain. Lets you know that where you’re at is not the only place to be☯️

### 5/5 — Fantastic app - Personal touch

*2021-03-28, version 1.12*

I’m a big fan of ambient sound apps and content. There are some great apps out there both paid and free, but they mainly focus on loops, with content bought and not credited - there’s nothing wrong with this, and apps like Portal have proven this concept can be done well.

However, this app has got to be the best for understanding created content. Along with profiles of the sound designers, you also have that feeling of experiencing travel alongside them. There’s more of a story here and as a listener I appreciate it.

The only thing I would change is the pricing plan. I don’t mind that the content is behind a paywall but I’d much rather buy a lifetime pass than pay monthly or yearly. Saying that, yearly is currently cheap and feels like a worthy purchase if you use these apps as much as I do. As soon as my 4 day trial expires, I plan on purchasing.

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2021-03-23, version 1.12*

Amazing, locally-made and nice widgets ! Love it :)

### 5/5 — Stress melts

*2020-12-10, version 1.11*

Objective reality is made of layers... experiencing sounds which are relaxing and natural superimposed to the everyday grind, especially during CoVid restrictions, is indescribable...

### 5/5 — Delightful detail. Enough, but not too much.

*2020-12-09, version 1.11*

The sound maintains originality with no looping. Excellent quality and well engineered balance, It is just there, in the background, noticeable without being distracting, measured to provide the perfect dose.

Perhaps my favourite aspects are that the app has its own volume control, as well as a gentle fade out rather than an abrupt shut off when a track is stopped before end. This is a delightful attention to detail.

### 5/5 — Nothing better than listening to this app

*2020-07-25, version 1.6*

Amidst all the noise and chaos of this present situation...
A gentle reminder that God is in control... of all nature and, indeed all of us. Praise The Lord. The victory is his, rest assured.

### 5/5 — Beautiful and inspiring

*2020-04-22, version 1.3*

Love these recordings of nature! All of the people who provided the sounds on this are true artists! Do yourself a favor and get this app!

### 5/5 — Incontournable

*2020-04-19, version 1.3*
