My Maihear hearing aids employ this software. Adjusting for the frequencies that are not heard as well requires effort which the audiologist due for you and which you pay for. Their work is tedious and the cost justified if you want to choose someone already trained in adjusting hearing aids. All hearing aids should employ this software with its 16 channels. Just amplyfying sound for impaired hearing ignores the loss of some frequencies but not others. The FDA is owned by the audiologists and their hardware suppliers. So there is little chance for allowing 16 channel over the counter hearing aids with SOUNDWEAR software to impede the the business interest of audiologists. In fact I have noticed that the FDA has stopped any advertising relating to do it yourself audiology employing SOUNDWEAR . ### 1/5 — Needs immediate app bug fixes *2024-02-04* When it connects properly to the app, it is great. But it spontaneously disconnects from the app all the time. When you try to reconnect it says it has done so - but it actually doesn’t this is maddening. Do NOT get this device until there is a new version that fixes these problems. ### 1/5 — Amplifiers constantly disconnect from the app *2023-12-13* First off, the right one shows connected but there’s nothing but silence coming through it. The left seems to be picking up and amplifying sound. But they disconnect from the app every 20-30 seconds. Tried several things Turning off and on earphones, turning off and on Bluetooth: still the same error message. I am using Luxato in-ear earbuds…. VERY frustrating ### 2/5 — bought for mom. will change if i can get to work *2022-04-04* I don't want to return it but i cant seem to get app to acknowledge the right hearing aid help ### 1/5 — Not satisfied as of now *2021-11-16* I followed the instructions to load the app and get the hearing amplifiers to pair with Bluetooth on my iPhone 7. The iPhone did not pick up the hearing devices. The app for the hearing devices downloaded to my phone does not pick up the devices yet the devices pick up all sounds around me and all sound coming through my iPhone at the same time. The hearing amplifiers have taken over my iPhone and the only solution the manual states is to turn off the hearing amplifiers. No problem, but the hearing amplifiers don’t have an on/off switch. They are wireless and connect to 2 metal heads in the charging case. There is no way to shut them off to reset them. When I tried to pair them to my phone they were right next to it. I tried their customer service and was directed to a talk by text customer service system and per the system requested a call and that was an hour ago. Hopefully their customer service calls in a reasonable period of time (an hour is generally too long for me) so odds are I am going to return this product. ### 1/5 — Bad move Sound Wear *2020-06-12* Why on Earth do you now need my location to connect the App to the hearing device? You didn't need location in the previous version, so why now? Are you now profiling users to collect and sell personal data to marketing companies? If I now cannot connect my device to the App without location enabled, i want my money back! **Developer response:** Sorry, it's a mistake. I must clarify that SoundWear App never use your location for anything or gather any location info. The app is developed in a cross platform way for iOS and Android. And Android OS requires Location Service enabled before the App can use BLE, that's why we add Location service checking before searching. This code is also used in our iOS app, which should not. That's the reason for this trouble, we're sorry for this happened.
