## What is Soupir?

Learn to read and play rhythms, one exercise at a time. Soupir guides you from your first notes to more complex patterns, with clear instructions and feedback after every attempt. Ideal for practicing the rhythm readings from your music theory lessons at home.

LISTEN, PLAY AND IMPROVE
Follow the score, tap when each note starts, and hold longer notes when the exercise calls for it. Observe the rests and keep a steady beat. The course gradually introduces note values, rests, dotted notes, ties and triplets.

UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU PLAY
Look up symbols and their meanings in the music guide. Adjust the tempo and difficulty to suit your practice. Results and practical tips help you decide what to work on next.

PRACTICE YOUR OWN RHYTHMS
Build an exercise with the music keyboard or scan a passage of sheet music. Check the scan, correct it if needed, then practice. Recognition runs on your iPhone. Keep your exercises together in your library, with automatic titles you can edit.

FOLLOW YOUR PROGRESS
Track accuracy, tempo, and mistakes for each personal exercise. Browse individual sessions or see the bigger picture with daily and weekly averages.

THE FULL COURSE IS FREE
The whole course, the music guide and the bonus levels are free, with no account and no ads. You can also confirm one exercise you create and one exercise from a scan for free. These are separate allowances. You can replay both without limits; editing them after confirmation requires Soupir Plus, and deleting them does not reset the free allowance.

SOUPIR PLUS
Scan, create and edit as many exercises as you like, yearly or for life. The yearly subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date; manage it in your Apple Account settings. If you already bought Soupir Plus, nothing changes. Users of earlier versions keep their full access.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.1 — 2026-10-23

My rhythms opens normally again on affected iPhones. This update also improves practice with Bluetooth headphones and makes saved progress more resilient.

• Bluetooth: the metronome and exercise playback now account for audio delay. Tap sounds are disabled with Bluetooth headphones to avoid delayed feedback, with a short explanation in Settings.
• Reliability: fixed a crash when editing certain scores, and exercise playback that could start after being canceled.
• Saving: unreadable progress is preserved instead of being replaced. If a practice session cannot be saved, you can retry from the results screen or My rhythms while the app remains open.

### 1.4 — 2026-10-18

New ways to play in time, your way!

• Pick your sound: piano, xylophone or snare drum for your taps. Try them after your first successful level, then change your choice anytime in Settings.
• A new Dry hi-hat metronome sound, selected by default for new installations. Your existing setting stays the same.
• More natural held notes: the sound follows your touch until the note ends, and Soupir lets you know when you hold it too long. On the snare drum, long notes continue as a gentle roll.
• Too easy? Score 100% on the first two levels of a chapter, then try its final level to complete the chapter with three stars. Your result counts toward the points, stars and badges for the chapter’s levels.
• Fewer accidental gestures at the bottom of the screen during exercises, and clearer visual cues in the course and tutorial.

Also included: yearly or lifetime Soupir Plus, a redesigned rhythm keyboard, seven bonus rhythm challenges and nine mystery melodies. The full course stays free.

Your saved rhythms, progress and purchases are preserved.

### 1.3 — 2026-10-16

Soupir Plus is now available yearly or for life.

• Choose your plan: a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. If you already bought Soupir Plus, nothing changes.
• Your free exercise stays playable without limits; editing it after confirmation requires Soupir Plus. Exercises confirmed before this version stay editable.
• In Settings: rate Soupir, send me an idea or a problem, or redeem a code.
• After a scanned exercise, quickly see how to add more pieces.

Your saved rhythms and progress are preserved.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-15

More ways to enjoy playing and creating rhythms!

• A gift for completing your course: finish every level in your learning path to unlock seven bonus levels full of bounces, quick runs and offbeat challenges.
• A redesigned rhythm keyboard: select a passage, insert or replace a pattern with one tap, tie notes and adjust their grouping more easily.
• Two sounds for your taps: Plucked String and Soft Marimba. Hear the same sound when Soupir demonstrates a rhythm.
• More responsive taps, more natural sustained notes, and separate controls for the metronome and rhythm sounds.
• Open the editor directly from My Rhythms, spot unfinished measures more easily, and enjoy clearer feedback throughout the app.

Your saved rhythms and progress are preserved.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-11

The full course is now free. Create your own rhythms, practice from sheet music, and follow your progress from one session to the next.

• Build exercises with the music keyboard or scan sheet music. Recognition runs on your iPhone.
• Review any issues found in a scan and apply suggested corrections before playing.
• Find your scans more easily with automatic titles you can always change.
• Track accuracy, tempo, and mistakes for your personal exercises, by session, day, or week.
• Set your practice tempo before starting an exercise you created or scanned.
• Explore a redesigned home screen, library, and music guide, with clearer instructions in English and French.

One exercise you create and one from a scan are included for free. Soupir Plus lets you add unlimited exercises with a one-time purchase. No subscription.

If you already used Soupir, you keep your full access.
