This app speeds up a few tasks in a way that no other app has. It’s written by Anders, what else did you expect?! Perfection ### 5/5 — Really useful, just a couple of niggles *2025-06-03* This is so useful for integration with anything supporting a File Provider. A couple of features I would like: - Be able to batch commits and specify a message (ideally with AI commit summaries with emoji following conventional-commits). Should be optional, with commit on edit being the default. - Commit signing with SSH or GPG keys. I find it useful every day. ### 5/5 — Simple and useful *2024-03-20* Having access to a repo via file provider (!) is great. Working with git-ted Markdown text files in iA Writer is straight forward. Now I can use git as a parachute to revert mistakes. A future extension to this app might be the ability to toggle an update interval: since some text editors saves frequently, a lot of commits are resulting. Being able to commit,say: only every ten minutes, would be useful for such a usage scenario. ### 5/5 — Greatfull APP..... *2024-02-20* This app really is the tool that I have been looking for for a very long time. It helps tremendously with development or other work with GIT. This app will prompt you to turn off renew email from Apple to avoid cancellation right after you accept 7 days trial. **Developer response:** I'm now sure why you are being asked to turn off renewal emails. This is not something the app controls or wants to happen. ### 1/5 — Requires a subscription *2025-01-06* This app appears to require a subscription to do anything. Of course, this isn’t clear until after you provide access into your project. I promptly revoked access and removed. I am not against paying for an app that is useful and this one appeared to be so however it should be clear and preferably give some type of demo that it works and to prove it’s usefulness. **Developer response:** Sorry that you feel blindsided by this. I try to be upfront about it. Some of the users needed a fast way to make changes to large repositories without having to clone. This is why I decided to also create Source Files but I agree that in most scenaries a traditional Git client is preferable. ### 2/5 — Not useful *2026-03-28* Better off just using the websites ### 2/5 — What is the point *2024-10-17* What is the point of syncing your git repo to a local folder but that local folder being unaccessible to any other app? For example if I maintain my notes as text files in a git repo and sync it using this app, how am i suppose to open the notes folder in my notes application which is actually capable of reading these text files and render them? This is because of iOS permissions but this makes the app so less useful **Developer response:** All your repositories are available inside the Source location in the Files app such that apps able to manage notes in the Files app will be easy to combine with Source Files. ### 3/5 — Gut *2025-12-06* Leider sind nur begrenzte Hoster möglich. While you have concerns about this, I encourage other users to read the privacy policy and reach their own conclusion. ### 5/5 — Great app! *2026-07-07* Thanks for this quality app! Unfortunately hidden dot folders and files don't appear in the Files app, although they're visible in the Source Files app. Is this intended or could be fixed? **Developer response:** This is unfortunately outside my control. The Files app is told about all files, including those starting with a dot, but it decides to hide them, with no way for the app or the user to change this. I have asked Apple to add a setting to show hidden files. ### 5/5 — Elegant, grownup software *2026-06-01* Anders has worked hard to make something that feels simple. If you’ve ever tried to get the Google Drive iOS app to play nice with the native Files app you’ll know how janky it is when things seem to work but don’t really. Source is the opposite. Takes something that feels like perhaps it shouldn’t work and presents GitHub repos as a transparent file system. Being able to use GitHub just like a Dropbox or iCloud file store is great - if you need that obvs. I have all my markdown notes there and iA Writer can access them happily. ## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Very useful! *2026-05-25* This is a great app, very thoughtfully designed with all the little features that matter.
