### 1/5 — The worst EV charging app

*2024-06-15, version 1.3.1*

The app is so bad that today I gave up and parked elsewhere. On pretty much every app I use I’m able to autofill my login details, my phone number, address info, etc. but for some reason this app doesn’t let me do any of that so it takes a good 5 minutes after parking to get my details all entered, and that’s when the app works. Tried to log in today and after 15 minutes it didn’t recognise the charger I was parked at. If you plug in before sorting it out on the app it messes up the system and doesn’t let you confirm the charge. Really disappointing as the locations of these chargers are usually really convenient but until the app is sorted I’ll always try to find an alternative charging point.

### 1/5 — Stop logging me out

*2024-05-31, version 1.3.1*

Every time I open this app I have to login, this would be fine if it used Face ID or at least had support for my password manager. It’s 2024, do better.

### 1/5 — Didn’t charge

*2024-05-25, version 1.3.1*

Tried to use one of these chargers. It look £49 easy enough but when it came to actually charging it didn’t wanna know. Chargy works a lot better.

### 1/5 — Poor App

*2024-05-06, version 1.3.0*

Doesn’t matter how many times you reset your password and login and tick all the boxes to say you have read the terms and conditions, it spits you out. It is saying you don’t have permission and that you are invalid to your own account.!!

Absolute rubbish, and like others out there, these guys are meant to be the leading London charging company. No hope !

### 1/5 — Shockingly bad

*2024-04-15, version 1.2.9*

All the reviews giving one star are correct (and I wish I could give it less than that).
App is appalling. Info on it couldn’t be less accurate and when you call customer services to check the information they have no clue. For example the app told me that there was a minimum fee at the charging point near me of £1625 (one thousand six hundred and twenty five pounds) and a booking fee of £2. You can’t book this charging point to start with and customer services confirmed the minimum fee was incorrect and gave me an amount in US dollars instead. Absolue joke. If you have to use Source London and have no alternative, use them via a third party app like Electroverse which is a billion times more accurate.

### 1/5 — Linka

*2024-03-20, version 1.2.8*

Poor app, Nothing change during two years! Impossible add card as payment, after fill up data ‘confirm’ stay blocked by numbers! Don’t waisting time avoid them…

### 1/5 — So so bad - zero start but app won’t allow that

*2024-01-24, version 1.2.6*

Source London is just unusable, via the app, via their website and via the charging points. I signed up over a year ago, not been able to use service once. Cancelled subscription, still trying to take payment from bank every other day, still sending me requests to change my bank details, now getting emails telling me my card is about to expire. I’ve emailed and I’ve phoned and it’s still happening. So very very bad.

### 1/5 — Appalling

*2024-01-24, version 1.2.6*

Just when we need the world to start getting better at charging vehicles, this comes along. It’s terrible. The tech that they are using is glitchy. The charging sessions never works. It’s the most awkward out of all the charging stations to use. Most of the time I don’t even bother and try and find another one as it keeps on glitching and doesn’t recognise the vehicle/login/app/password, but the problem is they aren’t enough around. To all London councils: get rid of Source urgently, we need something better

### 1/5 — Sign up flawed..

*2024-01-21, version 1.2.6*

Signed up no email to confirm, simple. Unable to use..terrible App..

### 1/5 — Slow and Expensive

*2024-01-02, version 1.2.5*

What is the point of parking up my car for over 6 hours in a slow and Expensive charger? Currently charging my BMW in the Tesla supercharger in Uxbridge for less than half of the price and third of the time!!

### 1/5 — Basic app functionality lacking

*2023-12-31, version 1.2.5*

How do you manage to make an app requiring a username and password without integrating with keychain and Face ID? It’s like the developers have never seen an app before.

Source is not the only charging network with a poor app of course. No one chooses an EV charging point on the quality of the app and so there is no incentive for the providers to
Improve. You can spend a small (or large) fortune on a shiny new EV with cutting edge tech and have to deal with this shoddy infrastructure.

### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2023-12-04, version 1.2.4*

Unable to do anything through app other than locate charger. No functionality at all. really don't get how this can be so bad and user unfriendly!

### 1/5 — Would give 0 star if I could

*2023-12-01, version 1.2.4*

If I charge with Source London chargers but using the Electroverse app the experience is excellent. Using Source London’s own app is awful. It never works. It’s totally unintuitive. And here’s the kicker. If you have a resident’s subscription you can’t use it. You have to carry around a membership card that they send out to you and you use that instead.

Get a grip Source London and sort this out. A white labelled version of the Electroverse app would be a major improvement.

### 1/5 — Absolutely time wasting devices they have around London

*2023-11-18, version 1.2.3*

Initially, none of the devices are operational. Additionally, logging into the app is not user-friendly. The London Mayor must address the issue of non-functional devices and drove them
Replace to a reliable company

### 1/5 — Says it failed payment but starts charging

*2023-11-15, version 1.2.3*

The app is one of the slowest and worst I’ve seen. Massive investment in charging stations yet fall down on being able to actually use them.

I only use Source if there’s NO other way. Even then, I’d rather walk.

When arriving at a station, why take me to the website? Why ask me to enter my payment details again?

Why isn’t the App/web up to date with what’s actually happening at the station?

0/10

### 1/5 — The app stops working all the time

*2023-10-03, version 1.2.2*

This app is so useless that it makes no sense to have it in the first place.

### 1/5 — Frustrating Experience at Source London Electric Car Charging Station

*2023-09-10, version 1.2.1*

I recently had the opportunity to use the Source London electric car charging station, and unfortunately, my experience left me deeply disappointed. As a monthly subscriber, I expected a convenient and cost-effective charging solution, but my repeated encounters with issues have left me questioning its reliability and functionality.

One of the primary reasons for my subscription was the promise of cheaper charging rates. However, my card never seems to work as intended. I've gone through three different cards, and yet, the problem persists. Consequently, I find myself paying the full charging price each time, which defeats the purpose of being a subscriber and makes me question the value of my subscription fee.

Beyond the card issues, the charging stations themselves are often out of order, adding to the frustration. It's frustrating to arrive at a station only to find it inoperable, leaving me with limited options for charging my electric vehicle. Worse still, the system appears to charge multiple deposits when attempting to initiate a charge, resulting in unexpected and unwarranted expenses.

If Source London is indeed representative of the future of electric charging stations in the city, it raises significant concerns about the viability of electric vehicle adoption. Reliability, accessibility, and affordability are crucial factors in promoting electric vehicle use, and my experiences at Source London have left me questioning whether they can deliver on these fronts.

In conclusion, my encounters with Source London have been far from ideal. The persistent issues with card functionality, the frequent station outages, and the unexpected charges have created a frustrating and unreliable charging experience. As someone who believes in the potential of electric vehicles, I hope that Source London can address these issues to better serve the growing community of electric vehicle owners in London.

### 1/5 — App keep loading

*2023-08-08, version 1.2.1*

The app not even started on my phone.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — The worst charging app

*2025-01-06, version 1.3.6*

Continuously doesn’t work. Yet takes the money from my account. I never write reviews, but this prompted me to tell people never to use it. Use Ovo instead.

### 1/5 — Map not updated

*2025-01-03, version 1.3.6*

Just been to my 4th charging point in a row that the map says is available about is actually in use. Pointless - 40 minutes wasted driving around London.

### 1/5 — Terrible. This company has no business being solvent

*2024-12-27, version 1.3.6*

The worst app I have ever used. Useless totally useless. Will in future drive to BP garage to use their charger.

### 1/5 — One of the worst apps

*2024-12-23, version 1.3.6*

What a waste of space. Literally does nothing. Cant book anything, pay for anything, or get any of their mostly broken chargers to do anything. Gave up after trying twice to charge my car.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-12-16, version 1.3.6*

Lengthy sign up - scalps all your personal and banking details but still won’t let you connect and charge

### 1/5 — Abysmal app

*2024-11-27, version 1.3.6*

This company shouldn’t exist because they don’t deserve to have paying customers. This is the worst experience trying to do something as simple as paying for a car charge. Shell manages to do it with a QR code and Apple Pay. These people are idiots.

### 1/5 — Shocking - borderline criminal

*2024-10-15, version 1.3.5*

How on earth this company is still solvent is a mystery. What an absolute joke of a fustomer experience. Easier to charge the car using double AA batteries than even attempt to use one of their chargers or god help you if you want to use the APP. Shocking. ZERO STARS SHOULD BE BANNED.

### 1/5 — POINTLESS

*2024-09-22, version 1.3.4*

As much use as a chocolate fireguard, coupled with the fact that it’s ridiculously expensive whenever it bothers to work. Bubonic plague higher on my to do list that use this again.

### 1/5 — Nope

*2024-08-17, version 1.3.4*

This app is useless… just get Electroverse app, works every time and it’s actually cheaper!

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2024-07-26, version 1.3.2*

This really is a dreadful “app” it doesn’t do anything and why the he’ll does it sign you out if you don’t use it for a few days? Just to make life more difficult?? There’s no private info in it it doesn’t need a sign in! Please fix it

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Problem free mostly

*2022-04-10*

We’ve been using Source London for three years. It’s our nearest charger and we don’t have a home charger. We have rarely had any issues, and once when the cable wouldn’t disconnect it was reset very quickly. The helpline has always been answered very quickly and the operator is able to deal with the problem remotely.

### 5/5 — New app much better

*2021-12-05*

I’ve been using Source London for years without any problems and this new version of the app makes it much easier. With the new Residential Subscription and kWh-based fees, this is now the best way for me to charge, as I can’t charge at my house.

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2024-07-15, version 1.3.2*

In terms of locations it is correct. Sometimes it’s a bit pixeled like there’s a coding glitch perhaps.

My gripe is that I have to enter my password to log in every time! Even after ticking remember me. Please could the developers make this update with Face ID enabled features?

There’s no alert to say that you are approaching idle time or the 4 hours for a 7kw charge.

### 3/5 — Works ok

*2023-09-25, version 1.2.1*

The app works well and I use the source card to charge & never seem to have issues.
There are so many times when the app says a space is available and I arrive and someone is parked in the space & not charging.
Really frustrating & no way to report this to stop the location showing as available for a time, or maybe even to get a parking warden out to issue a ticket.

### 3/5 — No Apple Car

*2023-01-17, version 1.1.5*

The app has its shortcomings, yes. In particular, every now and then forgets username and pswd. Result, you need to park enter it all in just to find location

Also, please develop Apple Car version so that we can see it on our screen rather than having to navigate on tiny phone screen

### 2/5 — Source of Frustration

*2023-01-17, version 1.1.5*

As with virtually all the other reviews, I have been frustrated by clunky technical issues with the app and chargers.
You would think that a company charging the extortionate rate of 0.65p /kwh would bother to take note of the feedback and invest a little of our cash in a solution.
Rubbish!
