## What is Sourdough Score?

Score is a sourdough bake tracker built for the kitchen — for the moments when your hands are floury, the timer just chimed, and you're trying to remember how long the last one sat on the counter.

It walks you through every bake in five clear stages, from starter build to the final score sheet:

• Build the starter — log your starter, water, and flour; set a reminder for when to check on it
• Mix the dough — track measurements, flour, stretch & folds, and bulk fermentation
• Cold proof — long, slow, patient
• Bake — preheat, covered, uncovered, each with their own timer
• Rest and score — rate your loaf across crust, crumb, rise, texture, and flavor

Every bake gets a photo, a timestamp, and your honest assessment of how the dough looked at each stage. Stretch-and-fold timers run on their own schedule. Timers fire even when the app is closed. When a bake finishes, Score gives it a composite rating out of five. Over time, your loaves tell their own story.

— FREE, NO LIMITS —

Start a bake. Photograph your starter at 4 AM. Time your folds. Score every loaf. All free, forever. No ads.

— SCORE COACH (OPTIONAL) —

The free version covers everything you need to bake well. Score Coach adds:

• The bake journal — every finished bake opens as a full record: your photos, the formula with its hydration, and every stage with its timings, rise and notes
• The numbers you actually used — oven temperature, baking vessel, flour, stretch & folds, hours on the counter and in the fridge
• Bake this again — start a new bake from a past one, and make those numbers your own starting point
• Share a bake — turn a finished loaf and its score into a picture you can send
• Every bake you've scored, kept for as long as you want it

Available as a monthly or yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial. Cancel anytime in your subscription settings.

— MADE FOR NOVICES, USEFUL FOR EVERYONE —

You don't need to know what autolyse means. Score uses plain language for every step. If something looks off — your starter hasn't risen, your dough's behaving strangely, your loaf came out dense — the app meets you where you are. No shame, no jargon.

— YOUR DATA IS YOURS —

Photos, measurements, and notes live in your own private account. Score doesn't sell or share your data, and won't train AI models on your bakes without your explicit permission.

Made with care by Timeless Links.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.16 — 2026-09-10

Signing in now lands on Home.

There was a page of introduction between making an account and reaching the app. It said what Home says one tap later, so it is gone. A new baker now opens straight onto the three things Score does, and each of them is a door.

### 1.5.15 — 2026-09-03

Every step now fits on one screen.

Each card carries what it needs and nothing else: what you do on the left, what you set on the right, in the same place every time. Amounts are gold, so the numbers that go in your journal are the ones you can see are yours. Tap one and it selects, so a new amount is three keys rather than a fight with the backspace.

Timers moved out of the card to their own place above the button, so they are where you expect them on every step.

Underlined words are marked instead, and they now tell you what to change — every part of the score says what moves it most.

The past-bake record reads down the page in the order the bake happened, with the amounts in columns and every note saying which part it belongs to.

### 1.5.10 — 2026-08-31

A past bake is one page now.

The formula sits with the stages, so times and amounts read together. The photographs run across it, one for each stage. The notes are where you left them.

What you set is what Score keeps. Every amount and every duration is marked where you set it, so nothing in the record is a surprise later.

Tapping a number opens the number pad, not the alphabet.

Gone: the hydration percentage, the timestamp under every stage, the three-day estimate beside the door. All true, none of it needed.

Flour, water, salt. That's all a masterpiece takes.

### 1.4.12 — 2026-08-24

Every stage now fits one screen.

The bake is split into phases you move through — one thing to do at a time, nothing to scroll past. Each phase opens with what it needs and how long it takes, and the button that finishes it always sits in the same place.

A past bake reads as five parts you can turn to: the formula, the stages, the photos, your notes, the score.

Timers now say whether they're running or waiting on you, the countdown fills as it goes, and tapping a reminder opens the step it belongs to. Change the number of stretch and folds partway through and the timer follows.

Water temperature is gone. It was one more decision a first loaf didn't need.

Flour, water, salt. That's all a masterpiece takes.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-20

Score now remembers how you actually baked. Your oven temperature, your vessel, your flour, your stretch & folds, your hours on the counter and in the fridge — all of it kept with the loaf.

Open a past bake and it reads back as a full record. Two new things you can do with it:

Bake this again — start a new bake from those exact numbers, and they become your own starting point from then on.

Share this score — pick a photo of the loaf and send it out with its score underneath.

Flour, water, salt. That's all a masterpiece takes.
