### 2/5 — Advance booking Wad to Grantham

*2026-07-24, version 5.0.20*

We do not like or enjoy the underground connection on the Northern line from Lbg to Kings Cross when there is a Thameslink train from Lbg to StP / Kings Cross which is much easier. I also understand that we have to have paper tickets and not an e ticket due to the underground not accepting e tickets. This needs looking at and changing please!

### 3/5 — Paper tickets

*2026-07-20, version 5.0.20*

No option to have digital tickets on your phone when buying a trip to London with a travelcard. Please sort that out. Otherwise a pretty handy app.

### 3/5 — Could be better - delay repay is rubbish

*2026-06-29, version 5.0.18*

The app is ok. Does what it needs to on the most part. Apart from Delay Repay which absolutely does not work - can see my ticket but cannot select it to put through a claim (convenient for SE some might say). The one click delay repay should be great but is very hit and miss. I would probably be less bothered if I didn’t so frequently need to use delay repay…

### 4/5 — Network railcard stopped working

*2026-06-16, version 5.0.18*

The app is normally great, but recently my network railcard has stopped working.
You can see it is there before running the search, but all the results ignore the card and are full price. If I click the railcard section before the search, there is no ‘1’ against the network railcard, so I can’t remove it or try adding again. I now need to buy my ticket with a different app. Devs, please fix! Was all fine previously.

### 2/5 — Ok until you need to claim delay repay

*2026-05-25, version 5.0.16*

Interface for claiming delay repay is incredibly painful. Often you spend 10+ minutes going through the same form, only to be met with a Google ReCaptcha challenge that inexplicably fails and you have to start again. This is simple. You know what ticket I bought, you know the train times, the cancellations and delays. Just process the refund automatically and stop trying to benefit from unclaimed repayments.

### 1/5 — Just like Southeastern -

*2026-05-19, version 5.0.15*

Unintuitive, Stupid, and Not User Friendly.

### 1/5 — Very slow

*2026-04-28, version 5.0.14*

Have been trying to load app for over 30 minutes and still not done. No problem with other apps!

### 1/5 — A true work of art

*2026-03-18, version 5.0.13*

It takes a special kind of app to consistently be slower and less reliable than software was in the 1990’s, but SouthEastern have managed it.

I assume they have a dedicated team to ensure it takes 30+ seconds to load each ticket, with specialists tasked to guarantee that 25% of the time, it will show yesterday’s ticket . I applaud them for making their app approximately as reliable as their trains - true dedication to their art.

### 4/5 — The key

*2026-03-04, version 5.0.13*

Great idea, dosnt always work or load onto the key card. So much hassle when it dosnt , trying to get around London on tubes etc! Also trying to get a receipt for expenses!

### 1/5 — No option for HS1

*2026-02-28, version 5.0.13*

I tried multiple times but did not find an option for the high speed train. The app either has a problem, or the option is not very clear.

### 2/5 — Delay between purchase and loading to Smart card too slow

*2026-02-02, version 5.0.11*

App is okay, but it takes far too long between ordering a season ticket and the having the ability to then load it onto the key card.

### 2/5 — The app does not recognise my railcard

*2026-01-14, version 5.0.10*

Since the recent upgrade the app does not recognise my railcard and consequently overcharges when pricing. What changed in the upgrade ?

### 1/5 — Keysmartcard

*2026-01-06, version 5.0.10*

There’s always some issues when you want to load you ticket to you keysmartcard and when it does it doesn’t work. It’s very annoying and frustrating because this should make it easier and faster when you take a train.
There’s been so many incidents where I missed my train because the tickets are not loading and I have to explain the situation or go to the ticket office.

### 3/5 — Chats

*2026-01-01, version 5.0.10*

Clunky- if you get your order wrong you have to clear the whole basket

### 2/5 — Too much visual noise. Poor UI/UX

*2025-12-02, version 5.0.9*

There’s too many text blocks, advertising blocks and unnecessary items that you need to scroll on every page and change 5 or 6 screens just to buy a return ticket. Yet, they don’t allow pinning a return journey featuring you might miss an ad for their railcard. Poor UI/UXdesign

### 2/5 — Chris

*2025-11-24, version 5.0.9*

This app is infuriating. Your developers need to cater for areas that have no signal. When you do get signal, you get your e-ticket ready to display. By the time you get to the gate, the app decides to refresh itself, waiting for a signal you stand there like an idiot waiting for the tick QR to come back.

### 3/5 — Download tickets

*2025-11-21, version 5.0.9*

It’s a pain you have to download each ticket to add to your wallet. Don’t know why it doesn’t download outgoing and return at the same time.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stopping sending ads in notification

*2026-07-29, version 5.0.21*

Stopping sending ads in notification

### 1/5 — Cannot use valid railcard

*2026-07-25*

Will not allow you to buy tickets with railcard prices unless you have bought your railcard in the app. In other words, there is no way to transfer a railcard purchases elsewhere—e.g., through National Rail or in person—to your account. And you cannot select railcard prices unless you have a railcard loaded into your account. In effect, this makes the app useless for me.

### 1/5 — Railcard bug

*2026-07-15, version 5.0.20*

Selecting network railcard is not working and thus impossible to get the price associated. Reported wells ago and known issue but still not fixed. Keep deleting and reinstalling the app.

### 1/5 — Senior rail card

*2026-06-29, version 5.0.18*

The senior railcard option in the app doesn’t work. It used to up until latest update but no longer. All the other rail card options can be selected but not senior! I had to purchase my ticket at the station today and reported the issue to the man in the ticket office who said that others had complained of the same thing. Please fix it.

### 1/5 — Slow

*2026-06-27, version 5.0.18*

Expired tickets showing as active

### 1/5 — The worst app I have ever used

*2026-06-23, version 5.0.18*

Coded by stevie wonder

### 1/5 — Ignoring railcards

*2026-06-18, version 5.0.18*

The app no longer recognises railcards so you can’t use it! Have to use Trainline!!!! Sort it out please.

### 1/5 — App showing incorrect pricing

*2026-06-17, version 5.0.18*

A recent update seems to have altered so no longer applying railcard discounts, this means having to go to the website to buy them

### 1/5 — C

*2026-06-03, version 5.0.17*

New update took away options to see previous departed or delayed trains. Really bad for planning journeys on the go. Totally unhelpful.

### 1/5 — I was almost 2 hours late home

*2026-05-26*

I was going from Margate (17:24 late also came at 17:29) to Rochester I thought but this train ride took me to London Victoria I was not notified about that the train will not stop at Rochester, Chatham, Bromley south I wasn’t notified as the speakers were extremely quite like they were broken and the people played loud music. So my time was taken away from me and instead of being home at about 19:10, im going to be home at about 20:40 so 1 and a half hour of my time taken away from me. I really want them to not rush next time and let the people know before they even enter the train (I only found out after it drove through the station I needed them to stop at. The service was a 8/10 but the people who decided to randomly change the schedule mid away the train ride is a 0.

*2025-09-25, version 5.0.4*

Easy and quick

### 5/5 — Good app in decline?

*2025-09-16, version 5.0.4*

Was a smooth purchasing process, good functionality.

Unfortunately the ticket purchasing often fails now, offering tickets that you cannot add to your basket. I'll need to try the website, which is irritating.

### 5/5 — Easy app

*2025-09-15, version 5.0.4*

App is easy to use and up to date
The delay repay is made very easy
