Users can expect regular updates to improve functionality and add new features. ## Version history (last 5 releases) ### 1.10.1 — 2026-09-06 • Fixed: turning off iCloud Sync could delete songs that lived only in iCloud. If such a song could not be downloaded back to this device in time, Sovault removed the iCloud copy anyway — the file was gone from both places while its entry stayed in your library. The iCloud copy is now removed only after the local copy is safely in place, and Sovault tells you plainly when some songs had to be left in iCloud. • Fixed: CarPlay could fail to start when you plugged in. Two unrelated crashes were stacked on top of each other — one hit everyone whose free trial had ended, the other hit large libraries, where preparing cover art took longer than the system allows. Covers are now sized for the car's screen, and the library fills in after the first screen is up. • Fixed: adding a cover image could crash the app. A full-resolution photo was being redrawn at screen scale first, which for a photo straight from the camera could take hundreds of megabytes of memory. • Fixed: covers embedded into audio files could come out bigger than the image you picked — a 600×600 cover was being scaled up to 1800×1800 on the way in. Embedded artwork now never grows. • When a song's file is no longer there, Sovault says so instead of reporting a playback failure, and offers to rescan your library on the spot. • On iPhone and iPad, returning to Sovault now refreshes the library, so songs you deleted, renamed or moved in the Files app are noticed without restarting the app. • A song whose file is missing now shows an orange warning instead of the iCloud download icon, which used to make a broken entry look like a song simply waiting to download. • Cover art on the playback screen is decoded at the size it is actually shown, which lowers memory use in large libraries. • Sovault now reports crashes. Crash reports carry no personal data — no file names, paths, server addresses or library contents — and follow the same Anonymous Analytics switch in Settings, which you can turn off at any time. ### 1.10.0 — 2026-09-03 • Duplicate detection now catches copies whose tags were edited. For WAV, AIFF, ALAC/M4A and MP3, Sovault compares the audio itself rather than the file bytes, so re-importing a song after you changed its artist or title no longer adds a second copy. FLAC already worked this way. • Tidy Up's Possible Duplicates list groups those copies together as well. When one copy's title or artist differs from the rest of the group, it is shown on that row so you can tell which one to keep. • Search now also matches file names and the folders they live in, not just title, artist and album. • Import notifications now work whichever way you import. Sovault used to ask for notification permission only when importing from a server, so imports from Files, iCloud Drive, drag and drop or "Open with" finished without a word. • The import activity badge now tells the two cases apart: a clean import lights up briefly and clears itself, while anything that needs your attention stays until you open it. • Tags are trimmed of stray leading and trailing spaces on import, so an album name ending in a space no longer splits into two folders when Reorganize is on. • Fixed: on iPhone and iPad, the import banner in the server browser permanently covered the first row of the list — on a short list, that row's import button could not be tapped at all. The banner is gone; the toolbar activity indicator and a completion notification take over. • Fixed: on iPhone and iPad, tapping "+" on one row after another silently cancelled the download already in progress. Those taps now queue into a single import, one report and one notification. ### 1.9.1 — 2026-08-30 • New Premium welcome screen at launch — see what Premium unlocks and start the 14-day full-feature free trial with one tap. Sidecar .lrc files and auto-fetched lyrics get baked into the file's tags, so they travel with your music to any player. A new bulk action in Tidy Up does the same for songs already in your library. • Floating controls pick up the new glass material on iOS 26 and macOS 26 — mini player bar, player controls, and the floating play capsule. • Import failures now tell you why: not an audio file, no music library folder chosen, copy failed, download failed. No more bare failure counts. • Clearer server connection errors. On iOS the most common cause is a denied Local Network permission, and Sovault now says so and offers a shortcut to Settings. The underlying error stays available as selectable fine print for support emails. • Fixed: lyrics already stored inside your files showed as "No lyrics" in the player. The player now reads the file's own lyrics tag, and syncs what it finds to your other devices. • Fixed: on Mac, the spectrum bars kept dancing after you paused, the now-playing highlight stayed on the previous row when a track auto-advanced, and iCloud download badges did not refresh. • Fixed: on Mac, an unreachable music library folder could clear library records — ratings, play counts, playlist membership. A safety cut-out now prevents that. • Fixed: on Mac, renaming your music library folder in Finder no longer makes Sovault forget where it is. • Fixed: on Mac, the music library setup screen could be dismissed and never return for the rest of the session. • Fixed: an interrupted overwrite upload could lose the file on the server.
