Space Alert is a cooperative board game by Vlaada Chvátil. This app will generate random missions to use in that game, and will assist with the walk-through after each mission is completed. This app is not the complete game. You'll need to have the Space Alert board game to play. Fully configurable. Gives you a log of the the output so you can double check if you missed anything before resolution. Does a good job of implementing the actual sound and feel of the tracks. And now for the reasons I prefer just using the soundtracks. The configuration works, technically. It gives way too many serious threats, and too few threats, on average. I cannot play it without leaving the phone screen on, with the app open. Of course I can put the phone face down if I don't want to see it, but it's not ideal. When the sound track finishes, there is another voice that comes in and starts to walk you through resolution. I couldn't figure out how to turn that off or get it to shut up short of closing the app, which was annoying because I then lost the benefit of having the log to double check. And the worst part: It doesn't save any of my configuration. If I want to run back the default settings (which by the way don't precisely map to actual settings in the game) it's fine, otherwise I have to manually turn every knob every single time I use the app. Not letting me save different configurations is a bummer. Not even remembering my most recent configuration is inexcusable. I'll re-download this in a pinch, when I don't have access to the sound tracks, but I can't give it more than 3 stars. ### 5/5 — Excellent *2022-02-20, version 1.8.1* Spectacular app that makes setup much easier. Not only does it generate custom random missions, but it also walks you thru the resolution phase! Only wish the original scenarios were in this format.
