## What is SPACE AR?

SPACE AR turns your phone into a window on the night sky. Hold it up and stars, constellations, planets and satellites appear overlaid on the real sky. It’s built not just for looking, but for observing — combining research-grade astronomy with the actual local weather to show how the sky really looks, here and now.

■ Highlights
• ~8,900 stars and all 88 constellations, plus the Sun, Moon and planets in AR, with constellation lines and names.
• Live satellites, with pass predictions for the ISS and others — appearance direction, max altitude, visibility and the cloud cover at pass time.
• Tap any object or constellation for full data: magnitude, distance, spectral type, proper motion, RA/Dec (J2000 and apparent), altitude/azimuth, hour angle, airmass, and rise / transit / set.
• Engaging notes — mythology, history and fun facts you can share on a walk.

■ Research-grade precision
• Apparent positions with precession, nutation, annual aberration and proper motion; the Moon is corrected for topocentric parallax (up to ~1°).
• Atmospheric refraction corrected with the measured pressure and temperature.
• Instrument HUD with sidereal time, Julian Date, ΔT and your observing location.

■ Tools for observers
• Real weather (Open-Meteo): observability, transparency, dew risk and an “effective limiting magnitude” — know what’s visible tonight.
• Planetarium mode: darken the camera and watch colorful stars twinkle.
• Time machine: set any date and time, fast-forward or rewind the sky.
• Location simulation: tap the map or enter coordinates to see the sky from anywhere on Earth.
• Layer and magnitude controls to focus on exactly what you want to observe.

■ Made right
• One-time purchase. No ads, no subscription, no account.
• English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
• The star catalog is built in, so the sky works offline (weather and the latest satellite data use the internet).

Hold up your phone and the sky becomes a star chart — for a casual walk, a date, or a serious night of observing.

Note: the AR overlay relies on your device’s compass and may be off by a few degrees; the numeric values for each object are computed rigorously.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-07-12

Version 1.2.0
• New "Easy explanation": tap an object, then swipe the info card sideways to switch to a friendly, story-like description (with furigana in Japanese) — perfect for kids, families, and beginners.
• Covers the Sun, Moon, planets, constellations, bright stars, and famous sights like the Pleiades, the Orion Nebula, and the Andromeda Galaxy.
• Other small refinements.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-01

Version 1.1.0
• Improved position calibration: aim at the Moon or Sun and the app now corrects altitude as well as heading, so the AR overlay lines up more accurately.
• Live reticle readout: the center crosshair now always shows the altitude and azimuth (with compass point) you are aiming at, plus the name and angular separation of any nearby object.
• Steadier on-screen numbers and other small refinements.

### 1.0 — 2026-06-25

No release notes.
