However, if you only use the widget and never open the app, the widget might’ve stopped working recently. I decided to focus on the core app experience and deprecate the widget to emphasize the educational aspect, not just nice pictures. The first fruits of this shift in focus are already here: v6.27 ships with “AI follow-ups” which add another layer of educational value to the photos. This feature is gradually rolling out to all users, and I’d love to get your feedback once you’ve tried it! The widget may return in the future, but for now I just don’t have the resources to support it. Anyway, iPhone SE and iPad Pro both running iOS 12.4.1 3/5/2020 v4.10.2 after downloaded update; tap “open” results in my home screen.
