The Lenovo refused to recognize the display. So I wanted to my Mac as an intermediary display, then connect the Mac to the Apple Cinema Display. To this end, I spent a half-hour fighting with a godawful Microsoft product called Windows Remote Desktop - which has since been renamed “Windows App” (the Microsoft Marketing team deserves a gold medal for that exceptional rebranding effort). No success. Then I found Spacedesk and in under one minute, I had the Lenovo screen up on my Mac. And not only does it allow my Mac to serve as a display for the Lenovo, it even allows me to use the Mac to operate the Lenovo, just as if I was using the Lenovo directly. This in itself is a huge win - I can’t avoid the displeasure of having to use the atrocious Windows software, but at least I can avoid the further humiliation of having to use the hardware monstrosity known as the Lenovo Thinkpad. I optimistically try, thinking I could use smth other than my screenless graphic tablet. The MOMENT my iPad finally connects, the PC completely freaked out. The mouse wouldn’t work, everything froze until it completely turned off and reopened frozen and the force restart didn’t work. Eventually the PC shut down and didn’t turn on until 5 minutes later. This program is that! Free for non commercial use, looks like the license is cheap for when I’m ready to buy the commercial license (16 USD), and easy to connect! Sure, setting up its counterpart on the PC was a little confusing, but once set up it’s as easy as opening Spacedesk on the computer and tablet, then connecting. It’s smooth, easy, pretty unlaggy, and allow me to use Blender with my IPad’s touch screen and my Apple Pencil’s pressure sensitivity!
