## What is SpamGuard?

SpamGuard filters SMS spam entirely on your device — no server, zero network requests, and your message content never leaves the phone.

• Keyword and sender rules with normalization that catches obfuscated spellings
• Smishing link detection: blocks shady links (URL shorteners, suspicious domains) combined with lure phrases — delivery, government, embassy impersonation and more, across 15 languages
• On-device AI: a built-in Bayesian model gives a second-pass verdict on messages the rules can't decide, and personal training adapts to you
• Live test screen: paste a message to see how it gets classified

Privacy first: nothing you receive ever leaves your device. Per Apple policy the filter doesn't apply to saved contacts or iMessage. After installing, open Settings > Messages > Unknown & Junk and enable SpamGuard.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-07

• Fixed: default block keywords stayed in the language the app was first installed in, even after you changed the app's language. Changing the app language now adds that language's default keywords to your list.
• Keywords you added or deleted yourself are always kept.
• New "Add default keywords" button on the Keywords screen — top up the defaults at any time if you receive messages in more than one language.
• You can now export your rules and learning to a single file and restore them later (Home tab → Backup). Keep it in the Files app or any cloud you like, then restore on a new device. The backup contains no message text, and nothing is transmitted — the app only writes the file.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-05

• Removed the processing statistics screen, which always showed zero. For privacy, iOS does not let a message filter share what it processed with its app. Filtered messages appear in the Junk folder of the Messages app.
