### 3/5 — Update 2025, ok

*2026-02-08, version 2.0.2*

Generally the update UI and skin looks better IMO - the only glitch I’ve found is setting the date via the app. You can only set the date (day/month/year) on the app because presumably it has a calendar that then works out what day of the week that is. However I had my spa on a different day (Sat v Sun) even though the dates were the same. The spa itself allows you to change the day as well as the date of the month. No big deal but if you’re running the week cycle or whatever, the day becomes important. Just seems that when you set the date on the app, it doesn’t flash the spa with the corresponding day.

### 3/5 — Heater controls are terrible

*2025-12-21, version 2.00*

Since the latest update it wont allow me to set a temperature quickly.

I am forced to use the minus and plus buttons. It takes a long time to increase the temp from say 20 degrees (when I switch off heating) up to 35.

Please redesign the heater controls, the previous controls was fine.

### 2/5 — Poor Upgrade

*2025-12-12, version 2.00*

The new layout is a step back, the old one was easy to use and simple and informative screens,
Now very confusing, lack of current status. Navigating beyond the main screen is not user friendly.
Keep it simple, no need to try and make it look flash when it fails to make it simple to use

### 2/5 — PaulB

*2025-12-12, version 2.00*

App has been upgraded (I hope). I like the facelift but on the first day it was offline for hours. Not a good start. It is working fine now but it seems that the inbuilt heating element is no although the App has it showing as switched off. I just use the heat pump and if the heating element is on it uses a lot more power. Frustrating. Let’s hope things improve quickly.

### 2/5 — Not Great

*2025-11-27, version 1.26*

This App is so frustrating. It is down a lot so I regularly have to turn the spa off and then in again. It is happened regularly currently. Also, at times the sleep time schedule just doesn’t work. I use a lot of Apps and this one rates as the worst. When it works it’s fine, but often I cannot use it as it has disconnected.

### 3/5 — A lovely thing

*2025-10-21, version 1.25*

The app works as it should in most applications. Although it would be nice if the software engineers could add more colour choices for the lights or at the very least get turquoise right - it’s more like green currently! It’s my wifes favourite colour and have to resort to the panel sadly and as it is in the #20s - it requires a lot of “nexting” to get to. Grrrr

### 2/5 — Poor app

*2025-09-28, version 1.25*

When it works it’s fine. But the App is down far too often.

### 3/5 — Losing Connectivity

*2025-09-03, version 1.25*

App has steadily improved over the past 8 years, but over the last couple of months, we have had to turn the spa on and off a number of times to re establish the connection between the spa and the app. No reason for this as service provider, modem, phone etc. is exactly the same. No problem with any other app.

### 2/5 — Timer

*2024-12-30, version 1.19*

It does what it says on the tin but it lacks a proper timer schedule so you can control say heating and filtration at certain points in the day/week. It only has presets which are not really helpful to the user

### 3/5 — Mediocre app

*2024-10-31, version 1.17*

App seems to function and hey, it’s better than having to negotiate the rather awful interface on the spa control panel. Either way could be better with more routines etc. in addition I saw it was compatible with Alexa and hopeful to add automation, unfortunately not so. It would be great if there were further investment in this app, there are many API for power providers now with solar power and wholesale, this could be great if a product owner was to drive it forward

### 3/5 — Useful but needs work

*2024-10-15, version 1.16*

Good app in many ways. I like the description of each function and how that relates to the functions on the spa controller. Main issue for me is that if I try to update the time, or do any time related function, i.e. setting the automatic cleaning, the app completely crashes. If that could be fixed it would be awesome!

### 1/5 — Hopeless!

*2024-10-05, version 1.15*

App support is non existent. App is now crashing as I’m opening it - can’t get it to open to try anything. Strange how developer responders haven’t responded in a year to anyone. I’ve had to do a “hot” reconnect every single day to connect for 10 days. Now can’t open the app. Absolutely ridiculous! This app is so unstable I can’t even log in again to set it all up again after crashing. Says my email is invalid - a gmail I’ve had for 15 years and it used to recognise. Seriously, isn’t there some other way to control my spa?

### 1/5 — Aug 24 App update slow to connect and respond

*2024-08-28, version 1.15*

I too agree with recent review around the connectivity and performance since the app upgrade. The GUI is good but maybe the data string is not optimal for wifi connectivity causing the connection issues which was not an issue before the upgrade.
Still issues with feature setting taking effect with only Turing pump on and off quick to respond.
The app and experience is going backwards and costing me more electricity unfortunately

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2024-08-25, version 1.14*

Disappointing, especially after spending a small fortune on the Wi-Fi module. Permanently get an “Error please try again” message when selecting functions. Even though most of the time it actually does select what you’ve asked it to do. This app lets the whole spa experience down.

### 3/5 — Getting Better

*2024-08-24, version 1.14*

Making sure the firmware on the Spanet side was up to date fixed my connection issues. I still get errors when trying to change settings but logging out and back in does the trick. I’d like to see more options to change the temp on a schedule. Keeping the spa at 33 for most of the week and uping to 38 on demand helps keep my heating load during solar hours. I’ve created an Alex routine to do this for me but ideally it would be in the app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2026-06-02, version 2.0.3*

Awful, constantly crashes, will not connect to the SV network it recommend. Have to turn off everyday to reset and then again when it won’t connect. I would rather manually work the spa as this app is so frustrating. Do not bother installing.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2026-05-05, version 2.0.2*

It mostly shows offline when going into the app.

### 1/5 — garbage

*2025-12-31, version 2.0.1*

still can’t do basic functions have to try 2 to 3 times.

### 1/5 — Temperature control 👎

*2025-12-13, version 2.00*

Temp selection scale is for indication only. Should be a slide to adjust temp. The + and - temp adjust has no hold down to adjust quickly instead requires numerous singular taps that keeps stopping you with a please wait notification in between taps. Considering the temp change function is probably the most used part of the app, this update is a complete disaster that deserves a review of minus five stars.

### 1/5 — Backwards Step

*2025-12-12, version 2.00*

Sorry, but this major app update is a big backwards step and very frustrating. The app is unstable (regularly crashes) and it often takes several attempts to change settings like temp and sanitise spa (you change a setting and it doesn’t keep it). Most key settings should be visible and changeable on 1 home screen. Much of the previous app design should have been retained. It’s handy being able to make remote spa setting changes, but this app needs another revamp for it to be truely useful. The above issues have nothing to do with poor wifi connection as modem and spa module are nearby and signal strength is good. Please try to improve and update this app asap. Thanks.

### 1/5 — Offline more often than not

*2025-12-04, version 1.26*

This app happens to be one of the most frustrating parts of my spa. Although I love my spa experience, this app is often off-line and it really frustrates all of us when all we want to do is just be able to relax in our spa and have ease of use of the app. As far as the lighting options go- I really think they need to have one of those light wheels that can use that can change the LED light settings to any colour or gradient. It just makes way way more sense than the options of lights offered in the app. It would be great if the developers actually listened or read these reviews and action this straightaway because this app has literally caused more frustration than it's worth.

### 1/5 — Smartlink is not smart

*2025-09-14, version 1.25*

Great idea so poorly executed
Seems to be set up for techs then sold to retail.

I have had this for four years - nothing but trouble
Hard to connect - drops out all the time - poor range
Now refuses to see or connect to my networks.

Keep your money and don’t do wifi on your spa!!!!!

### 1/5 — Worst App Ever

*2025-02-05, version 1.20*

I spent the entire day spinning my wheels and following instructions to a T. Could get app to find my network. Then I plugged in the password and it crashes every time. Have no idea who to contact to get my spa to operate properly.

### 1/5 — Don’t u love it when things just work?

*2024-11-07, version 1.17*

Well this isn’t for you. My router confirms the module is connected to the internet, but the app just always says the spa is offline - so the app is the only thing stopping me from accessing the module. What a disappointment.

### 1/5 — Mqtt is great

*2024-10-29, version 1.17*

Love the addition of MQTT but unfortunately I am unable to set sleep timers without the app crashing and changing the time in the app has no effect. No easy way to flag these issues and report to developer.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works Well

*2025-04-07, version 1.22.2*

Not sure why the reviews are so negative- maybe because people can only be bothered to complain? Does exactly as expected and gives more functionality than on my SpaNET Mini controls on the hot tub, such as a second sleep period, peak electricity time avoidance and the ability to turn it up and down from anywhere. Nice simple interface, very pleased!

### 5/5 — Wifi problems resolved

*2024-10-03*

A series of ongoing issues with the Wifi module was resolved - the wifi unit was faulty. Excellent ongoing support from Spanet via phone and email, and the replacement module came online quickly. The app itself is fully functional and enables comprehensive control of the spa pool remotely. I can now start the pool heater so it’s ready when I arrive at the bach.

Thanks to the Spanet support team.

### 5/5 — Works for me

*2024-05-20, version 1.12*

Had a bit of difficulty connecting to the Smart Link WiFi module (get the wifi password correct!).
I also updated the firmware on the module.
Since then have easily connected and the App shows the status well, and I have successfully changed the settings from kilometres away.

### 5/5 — Good system why all the negativity?

*2024-05-04, version 1.12*

May 2024 edit:
We’ve now been using the spa and App for 3 months since the spa was installed. My review below is still valid, I’ve never had to manually reset the system or power off/on (not even once) to reconnect it after it goes offline. It always is reconnected in 20 mins or less.

Also our spa is kept at about 38/39 Celsius by managing daily through the app, downtimes, sleep times, restricted heat times, setting the temp down and then up at the appropriate times which we do voluntarily and the app helps make it easy. The reason we do it is because our new electricity provider only charges the market rate for power and it’s up to us to ensure high energy devices are off, or in a low power mode, at peak cost times. The result is that our electricity bill has gone down 40% since before the spa was installed as our other high energy devices are better timed too.

Without this app we couldn’t manage it so well, so it deserves more praise than I initially gave.

Feb 2024 below
I got my spa delivered a week ago. They directed me to this app and I was instantly bothered by the many poor reviews and worried that my expectations were too high for what WiFi control of the spa could offer. I now feel compelled to write my own review because my experience all week has been great so I feel many of these reviews must be undeserved and putting others off unfairly. Many options for controlling timers and temps and lights and pumps etc are very programmable on the app (and easier to understand than on the spa control panel) with a good range of options and ways to understand the status of the system as you go along. I’ve been able to manage the settings well all week and am settling into my own preferred long term settings. The spa has gone offline a few times in the week but it’s always regained connectivity soon after without any manual intervention which is what you want for it to be a serious remote management option. I suspect the distance to the router causes this so I’ll bet a lot of reviews are based on routers too far from the spa to be reliable, ie they’re blaming the wrong thing. I noticed I have the V3 system which might also be a factor so if you’re getting V3 and you’re worried like I was, settle down and look forward to a decent system as long as you have a nearby router. Fixable if you don’t, just run a new additional router on a LAN cable to get the wifi closer and you’ll be fine.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2023-05-21, version 1.2.2*

So I have been having issues with the previous app and connectivity . I just found this updated app and it connected immediately. No issues. Let’s see how it goes.

### 4/5 — Add function - Heat on demand

*2026-06-01, version 2.0.3*

The app is very useful and convenient and has been vastly improved over the years. Thank you.

I would like to recommend a heat on demand function. Often I have the heater come on during the filtration cyce. During summer in the morning and winter in the evening. However there are times when the water is not warm enough outside those times. I would like to suggest a quick pre-heat function for when you feel like a spa and you know the water temperature has dropped.

### 4/5 — Good but some opportunities

*2025-05-09, version 1.23*

The app is great for adjysting settings but it would be great if it also had Apple Watch version and if it also controlled the audio like on the spas screen.

### 4/5 — Good but needs work

*2025-02-03, version 1.20*

.

### 4/5 — Major problems connecting

*2024-08-19, version 1.14*

Brand new spa complete with a brand new wifi unit. The specs on the wifi look amazing as to what it can do, however, even although the Spanet SmartLink brochure says it has a “Swift, Simple setup process. Extremely quick and simple setup process via Bluetooth”, I have spent the last 5 hours trying to get the unit to “go online”!! Everything connects ok, my Mesh unit is only 9 metres away and I have a signal strength of -41db. I’ve done everything Spanet say to do to overcome this ‘problem’, but it still won’t go online!!
However after sending an email outlining the problem, Spanet actually rang me (within 48hours) and talked me through getting the unit online. They were great! It was an easy fix, basically by Copy and Pasting your modem password in from your iPhone settings page, into the ap (instead of manually typing the password in). Works like a treat!

### 4/5 — Can we add a data graph in to the app

*2024-06-10, version 1.13*

Hi a good app team. So far no issues. It would be great if the app also included data analytics and/or graph showing temperature changes and other important info that could assist with understanding power consumption. Also any chance you can synch the party lights with iOS music. Thanks team
