My husband who is a native Spanish speaker overheard me listening to the app and was appalled that I was learning Spanish from something riddled with errors. ### 3/5 — Never saw more money but.... *2015-01-03, version 1.20.8* To open sessions where you see a pad lock you have to upgrade.never read this when downloaded but a lot are free but some of the ones you find yourself saying that looks interesting are for the most part locked. Be prepared to spend money ### 4/5 — Sometimes a bit too long with explanations *2014-12-21, version 1.20.8* I think this is a great learning tool, especially for someone like me who studied Spanish years ago and needs a refresher. I am not sure how easy it would be for a complete beginner so cannot comment on that. It is very good in explaining why the sentence is structured the way it is. However, sometimes I feel as if it is broken down a little too much--but, again, probably because I have studied Spanish in the past. Of course, I do not expect this learning tool to be tailored to my level of knowledge alone but find the reviews are great because they cut back on the explanations and focus merely on the expressions. I wish there would be more reviews because I believe I would skip a lot of the podcasts and go directly to the reviews. Then, if I wanted more explanation, I could refer back to the podcast. I'm a big fan of Dave's lessons. They are easy to listen to, I've been listening every day on my drive to and from work, and they have been very helpful in my learning. I would have to say they are not geared to a person who has never been exposed to Spanish before but being a total new comer to the language following along was not difficult. I really like Dave's explanation of each word he teaches you, explaining it's root and literal meaning. Also with each phrase he provides ample context and often a small story or situation, this allows me to visualize its use and helps me to remember the word or phrase. Very helpful. I also find the audio controls extremely helpful. I tried contacting wizzard media to see if there was an answer to the order problem but Something glitched on their site and I'm not sure the question got through, so this my alternative. Let's see if we can fix this please. Even a table of contents or suggested lesson plan or course of study through the podcasts would be helpful. His podcasts really work for my learning style, so I happily signed up for this app thinking that his app would be as good as his podcast. There is very little new here if you have the (free) podcasts already. This app is just an interface that takes you to his on-line podcast content plus a few pdf's as bonus content. What is the most irritating and truly laughable is that as you use this app, on your screen you read the same content that you would see if your were downloading the podcast from the the associated website, including the words "Check out our new app in the iTunes app store" - Yikes, I have to read an add for this lame app as I try to use it. An endless loop of mediocrity. The creator of this app should be ashamed. Get an editor. Get a proof reader. Test drive the app on actual users to get some feedback. This app really helps me listen and speak better. I am putting together simple sentences with words I already knew but wasn’t sure about the grammatical structure. These simply sentences are really helping me feel better and progress in my learning.
