It did 2 years ago when I first tried this app. **Developer response:** thanks for review , happy you enjoy the app ### 1/5 — Doesnt work *2025-07-28, version 1.9* Never ends up conecting ### 1/5 — Just ads now *2025-07-13, version 1.9* Used it a year ago and whilst a bit janky it worked. Now everything you click on just brings up an ad and nothing actually happens. ### 1/5 — To complicated *2023-12-24* The setup should be simple if it works great otherwise good luck ### 1/5 — Made unusable by ads *2023-08-12* I don’t mind paying to remove ads, but if the application is free with ads, it should at least be usable enough for me to determine whether I want to pay. The ads in this app are so frequent, so large, and so time consuming, that attempting to figure out how to use the thing was an exercise in frustration. I deleted it within ten minutes. ### 1/5 — Unable to locate the device ID *2023-07-29* The first thing the app asks for is which device to pair. I have three sets on three controllers. This app shows the three, but instead of the names I assigned them (Bedroom, Kitchen etc), it shows as “Shapes 43F”, “Shapes B99B”, and “Shapes A560”. How am I supposed to know which is which? Dead on arrival. ### 1/5 — Looks like a wrapper for adverts *2021-09-16, version 1.0* I wish I could review this properly, but unfortunately as soon as I opened the app I was greeted with an enormous wall of opt-out marketing options. It looked like more than 50 individual opt-out checkboxes for a variety of ways that I was going to be tracked and marketed at. I couldn’t find a simple opt-out of all of them. ### 3/5 — No support *2023-08-26* There isn’t any support for this app. No YouTube videos, no email, no numbers to call. I do like it. It’s better than factory. ### 4/5 — Actually works - unlike the official app *2022-07-16* This is an expensive app for what it is - you have to pay twice to make it useable and get rid of some quite intrusive apps. But the official Nanoleaf app no longer seems to work at all (‘read / write operation failed’ errors despite numerous hard resets, redownloading the app etc). So this is my only option. Unlike the Nanoleaf app, this one seems to work quickly and easily, connecting to my lights and allowing me to design my own animations and apply them etc. ### 4/5 — App is great. Ads not so much… *2021-10-08, version 1.1* So I love this app as it’s the only one I can find that enables frame animations for your Nanoleafs.i particularly love this for making animations for different songs to get the right lighting and timing I want.however the tokens and ads system is not so good.you can make about 30 frames without having to watch an ad and song wise for me that’s about 30-50 seconds of lighting And to save you have to usually buy tokens with ads too.the most annoying thing is when the app doesn’t want to work and won’t load an ad so hours of hard work are gone to waste as I can’t save. I wouldn’t mind a 1 time buying option for no ads or just to have small ads banners at the top.but subscription buying and ads to save are not favourable.the app itself is good tho as I mentioned the ui is organised and it’s easy to sync with my Nanoleafs :) ## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best game ever in the whole tire world *2024-05-18, version 1.9* The best game ever So cool Amazing Whoever made this did good work I love this ### 5/5 — Amazingly creative and just beginning! *2022-02-07* This has brought a whole new dimension to my Nanoleaf Shapes. (Note: I have added magnets to my panels on a magnetic white board to allow easy moving of panels.) This app has allowed the further expansion of individual animation to each panel to allow almost unlimited creativity. A new art work can simply be made with almost maximum control of each panel. Looking forward to further updates! The options are amazing, better than the actual app. I would say the only issue I have is that the scenes I make don’t work with Siri or the HomeKit, and can only be accessed within this app. Other than that it’s amazing **Developer response:** Thank you for review !
