### 3/5 — Add Partner

*2025-06-14, version 4.5.2*

Add partner is broken on iPhone 16 Pro. Starts to work until the splash add to get discount page. Found workaround by going in after I registered and added the player, then checking out again for that player.

### 2/5 — App issues

*2025-05-27, version 4.5.2*

App frequently doesn’t work so I get max scores. I’m not very good anyhow. I don’t need any help making my scores worse.

### 3/5 — GPS add?

*2024-09-12, version 4.3.5*

Just a suggestion to add GPS to the app would eliminate the need for multiple golf apps open while playing spark golf

### 4/5 — Lots of fun

*2024-05-08, version 4.3.3*

Excellent folks great tine

### 5/5 — Fun with Spark Golf group

*2024-04-26, version 4.3.2*

We played this evening with another couple. I want to know other couples that like to play golf like us. The couple that I played with were nice & friendly. Fairchild Wheeler golf course has a nice restaurant as well.

Spark Golf administration accommodated us with the tee time. I am happy with this league. Great to be able to play with my husband in the league.

### 5/5 — Fun times

*2024-04-12, version 4.3.2*

Had a Great time today.

### 5/5 — My first time at spark golf

*2024-04-03, version 4.3.2*

People were friendly. I was matched up with a really nice player. Our foursome was funny, very nice. We had a terrific time, so glad I joined the league.

### 5/5 — Mariners Point

*2024-03-19, version 4.3.2*

Greens were fast but pins were fair placements.

### 2/5 — Real time.

*2024-02-21, version 4.3.2*

New to be able to book today, this week etc…. Expand the usefulness of the app

### 5/5 — Good Opportunity

*2023-08-25, version 4.3.2*

Good opportunity to have fun while meeting new people.

### 5/5 — Duffer

*2023-07-30, version 4.3.2*

App not work

### 5/5 — Great app and amazing customer support

*2023-06-14, version 4.3.2*

Started using Spark golf over a year ago and I’ve consistently been impressed. Great way to golf and meet local folks but what is more impressive is they are very customer focused! They’re extremely responsive, flexible and just easy to work with. Seems like a small thing but so often that’s not the case - and kudos to them for being fantastic to their customers. Keep up the great work!!

### 5/5 — Fun

*2023-05-25, version 4.3.2*

I love the format, very friendly and accommodating.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Fake Golf League

*2026-08-13, version 4.5.3*

They will change your handicap off a single good round not based on an actual average. All the teams do is sandbag enough to not get their handicap changed and it makes solo play impossible. USGA created a handicap system for a reason. theirs is completely broken and their support is useless when you point it out. complete waste of money, there are USGA hcp leagues that are cheaper, more balanced, and more active.

### 1/5 — Zero oversight!

*2026-06-03, version 4.5.3*

While this isn’t necessarily about the app, the company as a whole continues to be trash! I played in this league several years ago, only to leave due to the fact that there was no oversight/control when it came to the players. The course didn’t enforce standards(not hitting multiple balls, rowdy hillbillies or whatever issue that would come up on the course). I decided to try th again this year, only for them to allow a last minute player to be added to our 4some. They only care about the money, not the players. MYbe that’s why it’s the same people who play in this league here in town and Spark Golf’s growth has been minimal!

### 1/5 — Used to be cool

*2025-01-28, version 4.5.0*

Nobody wants this to be a social media app where I’m forced to look at random strangers pictures.

### 1/5 — Tried it and regret it

*2024-08-27, version 4.3.5*

Not worth the trouble and money. Takes over 3 hours for just nine holes but that’s still faster than their customer support. App is a joke don’t bother with it, you’ll just be disappointed

### 1/5 — Good intentions, poor scaling/execution? Maybe not for me?

*2024-08-07, version 4.3.4*

Where to start with Spark Golf…I had originally thought this was a great idea. Here’s a fun, casual league, that adds a bit of competition. I learned over time that this was NOT the case. If you’re looking for even a semblance of competition, don’t even bother. Scoring is insanely imbalanced, and borderline pointless with awarded strokes and abuse of that system. I’ve played with far too many teams who tell the paired teammate to take a dive on the hole and post a max score if they’re about to make a net birdie/eagle so they can keep the extra strokes. Not to mention the dude with a 5’6” putter who gave himself every putt within 6ft. Pace of play is the real killer here though. I’ve spent upwards of 30-35 minutes waiting to tee off on a SINGLE hole behind 15+ junior golfers playing the hole for practice with instruction in 4-hole stretches in front of Spark. Courses will always squeeze what they can for the extra $$, and Spark has no way of regulating course behavior.

A year ago support was prompt, friendly, and flexible, while today, even a simple request is pushed off, while they copy and paste their rules to you via email. Having played dozens of Spark rounds, I’m finally bowing out, deactivating the account permanently and moving on to ANY course that doesn’t facilitate them. Spark has single handedly ruined any chance golfers have at getting a twilight round in at the local course. AND you have to pay more to do it, which is literally the ONLY reason I joined Spark in the first place, as I kept getting denied tee times because of it.

If I wanted a reasonably priced/competitive/ decently paced game of golf after work. This is the LAST place I’d go for it. The idea is okay…the execution, organization, and overall support….not so much. Golf has grown a lot, and this is a reminder that being “too hands off” and 100% remote can not only be damaging to your brand but also the facilities you decide to host at.

### 1/5 — Horrible experience

*2023-06-29, version 4.3.2*

It should never take 2 hours to play a par 29 executive course, but that is what you get. Spark talks about ready golf but completely fails to tell people what it means.

### 1/5 — Not worth it!

*2023-05-01, version 4.3.2*

Great idea but not worth it. Unless you and your partner pay and register at the exact same time chances are you won’t play together. You’re paying a premium rate for 9 hole twilight golf. The course I played was $26 total with a cart, I can play 18 at that same course at the same time for $19 with a cart. It’s mainly 50+ year old golfers and most score incorrectly, because there were at least 6 new 9 hole course records according to the score card. Find a local course that offers its own league.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2021-04-21, version 4.2.3*

Don’t find it fair that you have to work with the same partner for like a 4 month schedule. Should be a first come first serve basis. Basically it’s a joke app.

### 1/5 — Not a real league!

*2020-05-08, version 4.2.0*

Don’t expect anybody from the “app” to be at the location or for them to communicate with the course. I arrived with myself and 3 friends while the course (in Texas)had no idea how the league was supposed to be ran because the people live in Florida!!! You receive nothing from these people but you pay a premium for a tee time. Get this the groups in front of us and the groups behind the spark group were afforded carts but the spark players were not. We even payed more than a regular group for this “league”!

### 2/5 — unorganized and poorly run

*2026-04-07, version 4.5.2*

i tried spark golf two separate times over the last three years, and both were very disappointing.
the courses have NO involvement with the league and provide NO help or information when you show up. tee times are not honored and know knows who is playing whom.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

### 5/5 — First Tee Jitters

*2024-05-08, version 4.3.3*

We had about 50 questions and half of which I can’t even remember. The whole Spark thing was inviting yet confusing and we just couldn’t seem to find answers to our questions….. then from the corner of a friends memory he sent me a name and number and said “ this lady is an angel “ . Ms Emma Kroll answered all the questions and calmed the waters for us . She is DA’BESS !
