At the time of purchase, I was told that the plan price would remain the same for the entire period. However, within a year, they increased it by $10. What a scam — I’ll never use their services again. It will not rotate on my ipad screen. Only displays upside down. Can’t be bothered having to turn my iPad up the other way to view it every time. Very non user friendly. Am now trying to use the website but it won’t let me login suddenly. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Rubbish app *2026-08-13, version 3.16.4* I have to sign back in every few days and alot of the time it will not accept the password and a bunch of times it has taken a double payment out and it is so damn difficult to get that money put back in your account. The app is difficult to navigate and shows me stuff i don’t need to see. We live at 6Takahe Drive ChCh and the phone service is terrible with continual cut outs during conversations it is about time Spark upgraded their service instead of continuing to raise prices ### 1/5 — Pretty app, terrible functionality *2026-05-12, version 3.16.1* This is one of those genuinely hateful corporate apps, that look fine and dandy on the surface but which don’t really work at a fundamental level. Avoid it if you can. Good example: the app generates a security code that’s used when you call the Spark help desk. But the four-digit code is buried layers deep in the menu system in a completely unintuitive location … and then doesn’t work: the phone system persistently says it’s incorrect. The app is riddled with these sorts of back end problems, like payments that don’t show up for days, requested plan changes that can’t be actioned, and much more. In fairness, most of these issues are probably due to Spark’s archaic back end systems, but it’s less than helpful having an app that pretends it can give you real time information when it plainly can’t. ### 1/5 — Paying my bill *2026-05-10, version 3.16.1* Almost impossible to find in the app. It should be there when you open or enquire. ### 1/5 — App is trash *2026-04-09, version 3.16.0* Absolute joke, overpriced and the app is always bugging out. ### 1/5 — App broken *2026-04-07, version 3.16.0* The app just randomly decided to stop working with no explanation: "something went wrong. Ok cool, I’ll just click forgot password, won’t do that because it’s a social account. BUT IT WONT LOG IN THROUGH MY GOOGLE SO NOW IM GONNA FOREVER OWE MONEY TO THESE GUYS. Not to mention every single time Ive called support the line hangs up on me because I can’t check my app for a verification code. The technician I called was Jay. He was very thorough and determined in his approach and had a very good approach to helping us. Whilst the problem was quite a challenge Jay was very knowledgeable and patient, and was able to identify exactly what we needed in order to resolve our issues with the connection. Jay was awesome. Message centre is polite and efficient. So far, I have no complaint. Very good company to be with. Ticks a lot of boxes that I like, but to compare the app to my my spark on the web it fells short for the example if I want to add streaming apps Neon, Sky with Spark sport you can’t do that on the app. I think the Spark app is great for basic things and maybe that is what it is designed for so on that side for me it’s great, but the Web is still a go to for the big changes. I don’t know what else Spark wants to achieve in developing the app. The news section is interesting and I like to know what’s happening for Spark and where it’s going. I also called the number which gave a different figure. Frequent oops a technical issue. Nothing good to say about this app and will probably move to new provider once i have a sim as a result. It also asks for a nickname and random letters and number claimed to be taken which seems unlikely.
