The play generally progresses well and has a variety of nice options. My only really complaint is one level Barren Shield. It is disproportionately harder than all the remaining levels. Inevitably I am playing through then run into this level and can't get past it. Really? ### 5/5 — Masterlevel geschafft! *2013-02-26, version 1.13* Super Spiel, grandiose Steuerung, macht Riesen-Spaß! Aber wer zu Frust neigt, wenn es nicht gleich klappt, sollte dieses Spiel nicht kaufen. Ich übertreibe nicht und lüge auch nicht, wenn ich sage, dass der erste Durchgang wirklich nicht schwer zu schaffen ist. Auch ab 80 ist es nur eine Übungssache. Danach wird's im Expertenlevel schwerer und wenn man das endlich bezwungen hat folgt noch das Masterlevel. Und das hat mich auch an meine Grenzen gebracht. Zeitweise war ich so weit das Spiel zu löschen, bin aber dran geblieben und habe letztlich auch das Masterlevel geschafft. Hat allerdings lange gedauert und viel Geduld erfordert. Und danach kommt euch der erste Durchgang wirklich leicht vor und macht keine Schwierigkeiten mehr ;-) Also, das Fazit: Klasse Spiel, aber nur geeignet für Spieler, die eine echte Herausforderung suchen und nicht so schnell aufgeben. ### 5/5 — Still brilliant one year on *2013-02-16, version 1.13* I originally bought this game by mistake but it is still the best used app I have. Even a year down the line, the simple but engaging premise has me hooked and I have played it in spare time ever since. I love the different amulets that provide variety and the way the difficulty level builds up. Much better than so-called free games that bombard you with ads or requests for money just to play the basic game. Please fix! ### 1/5 — Good game, bad controls. *2020-04-29, version 1.20* The Game itself is really nice, but with these touch controls there is no challenge. I have Sparkle 1 and 2 on Xbox One and PS4. There the game is challenging, because the player has to aim correctly. Here with touch controls there is absolutely no challenge. The only thing the player has to do is tapping on the position he want the marble to be. Every shot goes right, no possibility to screw up an shot, no need to aim. THIS IS NOT FUN! This is not a game, its a „move your finger over the screen“-contest. Devs, please add support for physical Game Controllers AND / OR implement an touch-joystick control. It is sad to give this game a 1 star review, but it makes no fun to me, because it‘s way too simple. With the right controls i would give the game 4 to 5 stars. At the moment i would like to refund the „game“, because it is not a game to me @Apple: Why is there no possibility to refund an purchase? ### 1/5 — Eurohistorian *2017-11-15, version 1.20* Had this game on the original iPad. Kudos to the developers for keeping up with iOS. But I agree with others that once you get stuck after completing the first game, you can’t go forward. Immortality doesn’t help much & switching amulets seems not to help either. You just don’t want to loose lives & play difficult levels over. How about making the master level doable & saving crazy play for expert? Before the last update I was on expert level & got stuck just like I am now on master level. Often when I get a magic move, it should be beneficial but it just propels the orbs into the pit.😖I’m playing Barren Shield, and usually there are no good moves. There should always be a way to move forward, and there are plenty of ways the developers could implement this. As it stands, the game becomes frustrating instead of enjoyable, and so it gets a one star review. Pity, because the game is otherwise charming, and has great potential. Arbitrary save points mean you can end up stuck having to repeat difficult stages because you can't clear 5-6 of them with 3 lives. Save point should be allowed at each level so if you lose all your lives you can restart at the last uncleared level. Sadly programmers did not think of this. Most power ups are useless. Grey orbs look too much like black orbs. You can do better guys. 1 star only. ### 1/5 — How exactly do you play this? *2011-06-03, version 1.10* I just bought this based on the many good reviews. The graphics are very appealing, and I like the music, but the instructions are so minimal that I don't have a clue what the point of the game is and how to play it. Is there any skill involved here? So far, I'm just touching an orb and it goes off to join other orbs of the same color. There has to be more to this, right? I checked for website instructions but there are none. Could someone who likes this game please clue me in? Yes, it does take time and numerous attempts. I had to revert back once after Failing Barren Shield without immortality. I was able to pickup 3 lives for a cushion when I dropped back a few levels. I did not use them and resisted the temptation when I returned to Barren Shield because I wanted them for the last level. Ended up completing Dark Vortex with my 3 lives intact. The game loads colors at random, there is NO pattern, randomly changes the colors in your slinger, pulls your slinger off the board prematurely and some of the power-ups cause premature clearing of the board. Those are the challenges of an erratic quest but the journey is great fun. BEST MARBLE SHOOTER GAME YET! (Its weakness in coding skills become its inadvertent strength in challenging play.😉) ### 5/5 — Best Game Out There *2018-08-25, version 1.20* I bought this game years ago, and I continue to return to it. It is always challenging. It is pretty. Best of all, this company hasn’t followed the lead of all other developers and charged for essentially nothing. I paid for this game ONE TIME. Through 3 iPads and countless iOS updates, it has worked beautifully AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. It CAN be done, which makes me much less willing to play games I have to keep paying for. I live in Vegas. If I want to waste money on a game, I can find better ways to do it at the corner grocery store. ### 5/5 — Super Spiel *2017-10-05, version 1.20* Macht wirklich Spaß. Over several updates, the game has been made easier and easier, but the gameplay is slick and extensive, you really get your money worth. The graphics are top notch, there is a decent story thread without too much interference. Great music.
