### 3/5 — It’s okay. Can’t log maintenance

*2026-03-10, version 4.0.0*

it’s a cool version of an OBD reader quick and easy. Some things it advertises doesn’t work. You can’t log maintenance, dates, or service done to your vehicle. If you wanted to buy this as a reader it’s great but the app does not work like a digital logbook for maintenance done by you yourself. Should add a logbook feature would be pretty handy to have one for the app where you can log dates, mileage, and fluid life.

### 3/5 — Pretty good AI

*2026-02-14, version 4.0.0*

Everything seems pretty general. All I can say is it gets general advice and information much better than a random DB2 reader a bit on the expensive side but it makes it seem very good. Presenting the information.

### 4/5 — Pretty cool - Ai seems to be hit or miss

*2025-11-21, version 3.4.1*

The app UX is fantastic and is pretty intuitive. Setup process was easy but it got some info wrong (mileage) which I’m assuming was due to it finding the last known service which was around that mileage.

My car has no issues so it was just a test to confirm as much. I was hoping it would be able to tell me when the next oil change would be as I’m nearing it but it couldn’t tell me that, instead just giving me the standard generic oil change schedule

The ai was fine, not ground breaking or all that intuitive but it was cool

Also ADD THE NC1 NSX TO THE LOG OF CARS WITH AN IMAGE (make it yellow 😎 if possible) I don’t like seeing a random car in place of mine

### 4/5 — 2010 Honda Accord

*2025-07-11, version 3.1.13*

I was able to run a scan when I first got the device. Now after a couple updates it keeps prompting me to “turn on Bluetooth” When I enable Bluetooth and try to pair it’s says “SPARQ not supported.” When it’s working the product is AMAZING!

### 3/5 — No Live Data Support

*2025-06-13, version v3.1.12*

I am not sure if the device analyzes the live data because there is no way to read. Possibly just checks the error code and explain in plain english. In this case, Fixd is better. But this has better UI and premium feeling. But I cannot replace my Fixd yet for lack of live data view.

### 4/5 — It’s good but it could be better

*2025-03-06, version 3.0.0*

I’d like to see it read tire tps

### 5/5 — The AI is crazy!

*2025-03-06, version 3.0.0*

Just had my mechanic recommend me some services and asked SPARQ AI if that looks reasonable. It told me that is not a service that my car should do that early. Just saved me like $300 yoohoo 😃

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2025-03-03, version 2.4.0*

I was skeptical about the device - mostly because I received one at no cost. But, I’ve come to understand that is their strategy for getting their product into the market. I have them three now - one on my McLaren, one on my Audi, and one on my Range Rover. They work as intended and the BETA diagnostics is pretty spot on - impressed and excited to see what else they roll out.

### 5/5 — Insane product!

*2025-02-17*

Love mine so far and have it for three months now! The ability for the system to check all the car issues is game changer! The AI feature too is out of this world!

### 5/5 — Great diagnostics, it helped me save money

*2025-01-23*

I had 2 codes thrown at different times. One was about a high sensor voltage just after I did some work on my car. I was able to precisely locate the sensor due to the information provided by the app. Second time the bracket of my ambient temperature sensor broke and the sensor got knocked out and lost on the road. The app once again helped me narrow it down. Went to the store bought a new sensor for 20$ and replaced it. Probably saved me 2000$ in repairs so far. I am excited for the stuff they’ll come up with in the future especially the AI component. Great value!

### 5/5 — Beautiful interface for an OBD-II device

*2025-01-04, version 2.3.0*

Don’t expect it to do more than what a standard $20 OBD-II device does and you won’t be disappointed! The hardware is very premium feeling and has an Apple-like feel to it. The app’s interface is one of the most delightful experiences I saw. The only problem with this whole concept is the fact that they’re marketing it at $400 value (although, hopefully no one actually paid $400 for this). Functionality wise, I haven’t seen the device do anything more than what a standard OBD-II dongle does, it just does it more elegantly and seamlessly.

### 2/5 — No AI

*2024-12-14, version 2.2.5*

I got it for free at the LA Auto Show. I’m no car expert, but it didn’t tell me anything that my car doesn’t already tell me. Good thing I didn’t pay for it! Like other reviewers, I’m also on the AI waitlist. We’ll see.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Sending it back

*2025-11-20, version 3.4.1*

Doesn't work. I have multiple electrical problems on a used 2022 Lincoln Corsair Touring PHEV (ought two months ago from a dealership). Nothing found. Plus the app is ridiculously slow. None of the screens in the Care Guise populate.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2025-10-21, version 3.4.0*

Bought from Bimmerinvasion. Tested on my car with known issues tested by advanced technology. Scanned with the Sparq to compare. With Sparq shows no issues. Very deceiving especially if someone didn't know about cars. Would not recommend.

### 1/5 — What’s the Point

*2025-08-21, version 3.1.14*

Not sure the point of this app. It does not even detect an oil change notification or dashboard warning. No way to see warnings much less reset them. The app and the hardware module have had no value.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2025-06-05, version 3.1.10*

Four months ago I bought a 2016 Infiniti Q 50 with 60,000 miles. I had my sparq from day one hooked up to it every time I used it it would tell me there was no issues with the vehicle. Yet every time I cranked the vehicle from a cold start, that was a rattling. When I finally had time to take the vehicle back to Carmax, they kept it for six weeks and I found out the motor had to be replaced. Just wondering why the sparq device didn’t catch this?

### 1/5 — Didn’t even catch oil change code

*2025-03-06, version 3.0.0*

I drive a 2023 Kia Niro and I had my oil change maintenance reminder active and drove the car for a few days to see if SPARQ would pick it up and it didn’t. Nice idea and design, but if it doesn’t perform, it’s not worth it even the shipping cost.

### 1/5 — No Recommend

*2024-11-25, version 2.2.2*

I tried using it and would not let me install 100% just reads codes no trouble shooting here. Got it for free at the LA Auto show, the guy said there are a start up company. I would be 100% sure the product is explained right before they have upset customer's. Better off going to the auto parts store and barrow there scanner

### 1/5 — This tool can’t do its job

*2024-11-09, version 2.2.1*

After testing this OBD2 Tool, it’s not worth trying it out again. This tool doesn’t scan the car correctly because when I used a different tool, codes came up but once I used the sparq. Nothing came up, the sparq device has a blind eye to certain codes and it’s not worth it in the long run because it doesn’t find codes like other obd2 scanners. I’d recommend the foxwell scanners, they’re $100-200 and they will find every code within your car. Save yourself the time and money. Throw this garbage away, the AI might be cool but it still won’t figure out the codes that really matter

### 2/5 — Pre release software

*2026-01-29, version 3.4.1*

This app has great UI but a very shallow feature set. The health scans don’t seem to be real etc. Charging $130 for this seems unethical.

### 2/5 — Nothing special

*2025-04-29*

I expected that a device claiming a $400 value would do something any standard $20 vehicle scanner would not. It didn’t. It also reports the mileage about 40k too high and there is no way to correct that in the app.
The software does not show any raw data that I can use to diagnose my vehicles. It also shows systems like hybrid that are not present.
Not recommended.

### 2/5 — No features

*2025-01-17, version 2.3.0*

This is a review for the current product. I understand they have made promises for the future. It has a nice UI and one feature, it is not a $400 value.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Insane product!

Love mine so far and have it for 10 months now! The ability for the system to check all the car issues is game changer! The AI feature too is out of this world!

### 5/5 — SparQ AI

*2025-07-06, version 3.1.13*

My first time the device AI-powered vehicle monitoring. Easy access to me…

### 5/5 — Incredible SPARQ

*2025-06-17, version v3.1.12*

I can’t say enough good things about the SPARQ AI device and app. I recently had a bunch of warning lights pop up on my dashboard and, like most people, I immediately started stressing about what could be wrong. Thankfully, I found SPARQ.

The setup was incredibly easy. I just downloaded the app, plugged in the device, and within seconds, it gave me a clear breakdown of exactly what was going on with my car. No confusing codes, no guesswork. I finally felt like I was in control and walked into the mechanic’s shop with full confidence knowing what to expect.

SPARQ took all the anxiety out of the situation and gave me peace of mind. I 100% recommend this to anyone who drives a car. It’s a game-changer!

### 5/5 — Review

*2025-06-05, version 3.1.10*

### 5/5 — No more mechanic ripoffs!

*2025-05-20, version 3.1.4*

I feel empowered now going to get my car serviced. Not getting fleeced by mechanics again! Thx SPARQ!

### 5/5 — Free Software!

*2025-05-12, version 3.1.4*

I was shocked to find that there is no subscription, the only cost comes from the physical SPARQ device, which is amazing

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2025-05-06, version 3.1.1*

Easy to use and understand

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2025-04-14, version 3.0.3*

Got this product for free as a test run at a car show. For what it is, it does what’s intended and it’s quite good. Easy to carry and a quick piece of mind when you get the occasional check engine. Pretty satisfied and cannot wait to see what else they roll out with!

### 5/5 — A must try

*2025-04-07, version 3.0.3*

I received this product at a cars & coffee event and let me say.. it definitely doesn't disappoint, I read the couple negative reviews and felt like they shouldn't have been left due to how early this product was.. but it's okay to voice ur opinion otherwise, this product definitely checks all my boxes and I'll recommend it to all my friends.. it picked up my code instantly and it also has a couple extra features worth testing out

### 5/5 — Love the insights into my car

*2025-03-06*

This is so awesome!
