Otherwise I am enjoying it so far ### 3/5 — Very Conflicted *2024-06-07* I really do love this game so much, I will spend hours finding words and going as long as I can. I love the challenge and would not change a single things about this game… however there are a few bugs. Playing in endless mode can be frustrating because sometimes it will leave me with only one letter left and if I try to cancel it, it kicks me out of the game and then restarts. Then my 1200 score is just gone. ### 2/5 — Fun until Frustrating *2024-04-22, version 2.2* I was playing this game and had so much fun until it didn’t recognize the word “July.” I was astonished because it recognized “Yu” but not “July.” I think someone needs to fix that. ### 3/5 — Would be fun game *2023-10-26, version 1.13* This would be a great game and I would spend money on it if it didn’t crash every time I opened it, and if it didn’t have so many bugs. Needs some work to be a great game. ### 3/5 — Enough with the vowels *2023-08-23* I love mahjong and I love Scrabble-type word games so I really thought I’d love this game but it’s not uncommon to have 10 tiles available and 9 of them are vowels. After a while it just becomes repetitive because I’m making the same tiny words over and over (how many times have I used “eau” you ask? Enough that I’m seriously considering just deleting the app). The design is nice and I like the different modes- puzzle, # of moves, timed, etc, but I have not played one game yet that I really enjoyed. It’s more like a homework assignment. ### 4/5 — Missing words *2023-06-17* I love this game! No levels that seem impossible to beat. No ads. But I’ve found actual words that the game does not recognize (“stroke”, for example). It would be nice if there were a way to contact the developer so corrections can be made. ### 4/5 — Games Unexpectedly End *2023-05-16, version 1.12* This app is awesome, but I’ve stopped playing as games sometimes unexpectedly end. For example, when I play “Moves,” after 2 moves, the game will end. ### 4/5 — Word search *2022-11-20* Loving the game but the word searches need an update. Once you go in to a word search, if the game dead ends, there is no way to A- exit out of the game or B- reset the word search. The only thing you can do is close the entire app and start all over again. There needs to a way to reset the word searches from within the word search itself and to be able to back out to the menu. Please fix!! ### 4/5 — Love it *2022-09-07, version 1.11* Perfect for idling at work. But I really wish the submit button and the shuffle buttons weren't so close together. I have already run out of shuffles from accidentally hitting shuffle!!! ### 3/5 — High Potential *2022-08-09* Calming, simple, and aesthetic. However, once you have submitted a word, it lags much too long before you can select the first letter of your next word submission which is very frustrating and causes errors. It’s also very clunky to rearrange the letters when this happens. Both of these things make timed mode not very much fun. ### 2/5 — Frustrating *2022-07-16* I’m not sure if it is supposed to be a Mahjong game with letters or a word game following the layout of Mahjong. I don’t know Mahjong so I approached it as a word game. It is very innovative and even addictive but eventually it just gets frustrating for the wrong reasons. Whatever algorithm drives the placement of letters it should never get to the point when I have a single consonant and eight vowels on the board, followed by a state of six vowels with no new letters coming on board. It is a meaningless state for a word game. In general there seems to be an overabundance of vowels from time to time, which I guess is needed considering the structure of language but it seems that it is governed by simple randomness, which of course from time to time leads to the bunching up of identical features. It is also annoying that when one is out of steps, the app doesn’t say so, like all other apps would do, so you have to manually abort. **Developer response:** Hi, thanks for your review. I’m not sure what you mean when you talk about running out of moves. Moves are clearly shown in the top left corner of the screen in Moves mode. Endless mode only runs out of moves if you aren’t able to form a new word. New tiles only appear when the top layer is cleared. This is explained in the tutorial. Letters are somewhat randomly chosen (it’s based a little bit off of letter ratios in scrabble), however, there are 3 layers of letters that are shown at any time and the game can’t predict how you’re going to use the other letters when it spawns new layers. Part of the strategy requires you to think ahead and see what letters will eventually become available. This is how the gameplay resembles mahjong solitaire. The feathers currency is purely a money-making strategy, which should not apply to those of us who had already paid for and had access to the entire game. Highly recommend, my favourite word game so far ### 5/5 — Just what the doctor ordered! *2022-09-24* Feeling a bit like a words game - but Whirly Words erodes my confidence after a while, some of the Bonza puzzles make me squint and the Wordles are a bit short. This is amazing. I love the different modes, where I can think under pressure or take my time and I love the mahjong format which gives a new layer of letters once you finish the top layer. Simply fabulous! ### 5/5 — Word-nerdy relaxation *2022-07-24* If you’re a word nerd who finds letter puzzles a relaxing brain break, this game is for you. It is a really beautiful clean interface that combines scored scrabble tiles with the half-hidden mahjong setup. It makes for just enough difficulty, especially in the untimed and word search modes that have limited moves or tiles given. My ONLY issue is that it seems the word-search puzzles are auto-generated, so when I realize I can’t complete the puzzle with the matches I’ve made (I.e. letters I need are still hidden below others) there’s no way to just restart that exact puzzle. Restarting the puzzle loads a whole new one, so I don’t get a chance to try again. Aside from that, I’ve found Im able to complete a moves or word search in less than 3 mins, so it’s perfect for a little downtime before refocusing on life. :) Great, stylish, clever game, devs!
