Well, it looks like the add ticket to Apple Wallet feature is not working. I hit the button and nothing happens. I’ve tried all the solutions including deleting and reinstalling the app but it still doesn’t work. So what changed? It worked just fine for the last race which was a month ago. If something else breaks in this app, I’m permanently deleting it. Get the Apple Wallet feature fixed please. **Developer response:** Hi, Thank you for your feedback. Been spinning for 5mins…kinda hard to stay warm when the app won’t get off the load screen. I had to delete and reinstall the app. Please spend more time improving your app, or offer a printout of the workout so I’m not left waiting for an app to load in the middle of a workout **Developer response:** Hi, Thank you for your feedback! Aside from downloading your tickets into your digital wallet, I found the functionality being broken or limited. An example of this is when I tried to view the course map. The app took me to a partially filled page, no map. I am trying to assign the tickets in the app but only one of the races showed up. Hopefully, this doesn’t cause issues on race day. I would be very upset. Is not letting change the ‘Week’ you desire to explore. Stays on ‘Week 1’ all the time. Very disappointing!! ### 2/5 — Terrible app full of bugs *2024-07-31* Basically what the title says. The app is so riddled with bugs that it’s basically unusable. The workouts are fantastic, but i can’t access them even though i pay for the app. Only reason it isnt one star is because the workouts are good. Like everyone else, audio cues would be great and having the timers not pause if you close the app would be good. ### 2/5 — Kinda pointless *2024-04-23* Account access at Venue is great! Annnnnnnd that is where it ends. If you want to go shopping, use the website, so much easier. I don’t think I can even access all items on their shop from the app…. Handful of videos are great for training but the rest and beyond pointless. No verbal commands, no audio cues, no time between transitions/skills… you have to literally stare at your phone to stay on track with the current skill and countdown. With hundreds of fitness apps out there, you’ve got to be pretty good to stand above them and this app is not that. Apple fitness+ is a better app. After having NO spartan+ tent or parking at Houston. Waiting over a month for the photo ‘discount’ and now this app. I don’t think spartan+ is worth the fee anymore. **Developer response:** Hi there. We are also working on an update that will add audio cues to modular workouts and a countdown clock for each block, letting you know when to move on to the next movement/workout. In the meantime, thank you for your patience, and we'll be in touch soon. ### 3/5 — No sound *2024-03-19* The trainer led videos are amazing, but I really need sound for the self guided ones! I can’t keep watching my phone for when the timer is up. It’s really discouraging when I’m ready to do the self guided programs, but I can’t keep up because I keep missing the start of the next exercise. It’s hard to follow instructor let videos when it keeps stopping and asking me if I like the video, then goes back to the starting page. Thanks & talk soon! ### 2/5 — Needs Improvement *2024-02-21* Some of the features in the app are simply displaying their website, which would be fine if it worked well, however it makes the experience more difficult than simply going to their website outside of the app. For example, the leaderboard feature is just displaying the leaderboard website, but it has no back button like on your browser, so once you click on something you can’t go back, and that means you have to close, reopen, and search again, which is frustrating. This app seems like it was primarily designed to drive people to buying a Spartan+ membership since a lot of the features require you to have the membership to use them. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Broken app - should be removed *2026-05-01* Plenty of other reviews about Apple wallet integration being broken. That was what I was hoping to use. However, I never got that far, it offers to let me pay with Apple Pay then immediately fails. Only because I came to post this review about broken Apple Pay did I see the notes about Apple wallet failing too. They scam with the ridiculous fees. No wonder they are getting sued and I’m signing up too ### 1/5 — Money hungry *2026-03-05, version 1.0.39* It’s hard to digest how little you get for the ever increasing costs. Insurance is a scam. Hidden fees. They compensate the volunteers absolutely nothing so that they do absolutely nothing. The owners and stakeholders should be ashamed ### 1/5 — Inadequate *2025-11-24* This app is highly inadequate for what it’s trying to be. It won’t display all of the races you registered for and then when you try to submit a help request in their help center, the submit question option doesn’t work. Suddenly the app doesn’t work and isn’t supported (5 months after renewing my annual membership). I never got a warning or a refund. I reached out but never got a response. Spartan abandoned their clients to create a shiny new app that no one asked for, and lost loyal customers along the way. Discounts codes did not work but they will spam you via text and email. Disappointed because I loved the actual events. ### 1/5 — RIPOFF *2024-08-24* What a RIP-OFF this race has become!! They used to have the pics of the races FREE for those of us crazy enough to invest our hard earned money to participate, run, test our limits and see a few rare of those moments of pure agony, pain and excitement captured in pictures…. Only for them to “partner” with some photography company that now CHARGES us runners for pictures on top of the huge amount we pay to run these races. This is so off-putting and disappointing that this company has become so huge that they now Nickel & Dime us runners for these moments our loved ones can’t accompany us. I may look to go and participate in another obstacle race company that doesn’t charge another amount on top of the crazy price in this Inflation Economy where they don’t tell you about the Veteran-Active Duty discount till AFTER you’ve purchased the race tickets. WHAT A RIP-OFF you’ve become SPARTAN RACE ### 1/5 — Basically useless *2024-08-20, version 1.0.18* Outside of retrieving your ticket (add it to your apple wallet), the app is useless. It displays helpful stuff but it fails to actually be accessible. Do not use the app if your looking for reliable information. ### 1/5 — Stops and forces you to say you like it *2024-06-18* The app is terrible. Stops in the middle of a workout and forces you to tap like or it doesn’t continue and even when you do tap like it still does back to the beginning and you have to start again. After the race my results popped up on my homepage! Please fix the clock portion resetting to “0” when exiting out of a circuit to look at the next circuit. Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you. ### 3/5 — Auto scroll is annoying. *2025-01-19* Most of the app is pretty good… but the auto side scroll on the home tab, between the races I am signed up for, is super annoying. Please get rid of it! I’ll scroll to the race I am looking to check info on, and as soon as I am about to select something, like ‘view ticket’ or ‘view course map’, the app auto scrolls away to a different race I’m signed up for. I can swipe left and right just fine on my own. Please make it stop! (I bought a season pass this year, and this is gonna drive me crazy if I gotta deal with it all year!)
