## What is spawnz?

spawnz is a 9×9 block puzzle with a permanent problem on the board: red pieces. They sit in the nine 3×3 sectors of the grid, each one marked with a countdown, and they don't move or disappear on their own. Your only way to get rid of them is to clear the line they're in.

Three white pieces wait in a tray below the grid — squares, straight lines, L-shapes, T-shapes, and other polyominoes. Tap to rotate. Drag to place. Fill a full row, a full column, or a full 3×3 sector, and everything in that line clears. If a red piece is caught inside, all of its cells go too, no matter how much of the sector it covered.

TIMERS
Every red piece arrives showing a 3. After you've placed three of your own pieces, every red timer drops by one. When a timer hits zero, the red piece doesn't leave — the timer resets to 3 and a brand-new red spawns in another sector. Ignore a red and you pay for it twice.

SCORING
Clear one red piece: 25 points

Two in a single placement: 100 points (2 × 25 × 2)

Three in a single placement: 225 points (3 × 25 × 3)

Four in a single placement: 400 points (4 × 25 × 4)

Clear a full row, column, or sector with no red inside: 10 points

Clear every red piece on the board: +250 bonus

One well-placed piece can trigger two or three line clears at once — and the more reds those clears catch together, the harder the combo hits.

ROUNDS
Each round has a point target. Hit it and the entire board is swept away — every piece, every red, every timer — and the next round opens with a fresh starting wave and a higher target. The goal steps up by 50 per round.

Higher difficulty means a higher starting target and more reds between rounds.

THREE DIFFICULTY LEVELS
Easy: Each new round starts with 4 reds. Goal begins at 250. Reinforcements every 3 placement rounds.

Normal: 5 reds per round. Goal starts at 300. Reinforcements every 2 placement rounds.

Hard: 6 reds per round. Goal starts at 350. Reinforcements every single placement round.

GAME OVER
Two ways to lose. A new red has nowhere to spawn because all nine sectors already contain one. Or none of the three pieces in your tray fits anywhere on the grid.

Any red pieces inside the cleared line are destroyed

Once all three pieces are placed, every red timer ticks down

Reach the round goal to wipe the board and open the next round
