I didn't get it for u, to have me buy a premium to get all of them 🙄🙄🙄🙄 ### 1/5 — Don't Get The App *2016-07-08, version 1.0* It's better to just not get the app. Most of it requires purchases and there's tons of ads. ### 1/5 — Pass on this app *2016-06-15, version 1.0* Looks good until you actually try to use it. A great many are just the English words repeated. (Sorry, “Burger” is not the Latin word for burger and the ancient Romans did not have airports!) Please don’t use this to learn Latin, you will be learning gibberish. ### 1/5 — This app is a scam *2020-10-01, version 1.3* If I could get my money back. Why would you pay for the app then pay again and again for every little thing . Don’t get this app ### 1/5 — This is NOT Latin *2019-07-10, version 1.3* I’m a Latin teacher with a PhD in Classics, and I can tell you that the language supposedly taught in this app IS NOT LATIN. Many of the words aren’t translated at all—the translation given for grapefruit is just “grapefruit.” There is no Latin word for grapefruit because the Romans didn’t have grapefruits. They also didn’t have bowties, anti-fungal foot powder, or half of the nonsense included in this app. Even when a word *is* translated, the translation is usually wrong. Bank (as in a place to store money) is translated ripa, which means the bank of a stream or river. Airplane (which the Romans didn’t have) is translated vivamus, which means “let’s live.” And avocado is translated avjyoyu, which is just gibberish. There is no letter J in Latin, and Y is never a consonant. As best I can tell, the creators of this app just ripped vocab from Quizlet without verifying any of it, because you can find many of the same garbage translations (including avjyoyu) in sets there. Avoid this one like the plague, or better yet, download it and leave a 1 star review so that the rating will more accurately reflect how horrible this app is. ### 1/5 — Do not use this app *2019-01-19, version 1.3* This app is full of incorrect translations. I wasted my time, and only found out after clarifying a translation from a reputable source. ### 1/5 — Absolute Trash *2018-07-25, version 1.3* they have a lot of stuff locked in the app when I can just look up the words online for free instead of paying some bogus amount of money to learn more words, also the ads are annoying ### 1/5 — Piece of crap *2018-03-08, version 1.2* After taking a beginner Latin course online for school, I wanted to learn more so I downloaded this. Do not use this app ### 1/5 — Not worth the space waste, but could be better. *2017-11-05, version 1.2* I like the idea, you have the audience who wants to learn old Latin, however the app design is complicated and crap (took me 5 minutes to find the settings) the voices sound like a bot, and you only get 3 words from each category. If you want the app to actually work it would be better to actually teach the alphabet (it may look normal but letters have different sounds, should be taught first) then basic grammar should be taught next with some basic vocabulary, then the multitudes of Latin’s words. Also, ads should be a little more discrete. If your the developer reading this, hire some OCD designer like me. Only PROS- I can show people how bad app design layout would look like. **Developer response:** Thank you for trying our app. The app has different categories such as verbs, pronouns, adjectives, colours, fruits, games, questions etc which give you a vast variety of learning latin language. Every word has audios. Just to add on we would like to say that Learn Latin is a language learning app which makes the base of your language strong and is perfect for beginners or learners via images, audios, games and more. Though we keep your suggestion of importance and we will improve our app. ### 1/5 — Don't bother with this app *2017-07-11, version 1.2* I'm a high school Latin teacher, and I can confirm that this app has MANY horrible/incorrect translations. Seriously. If you actually want to learn Latin, this app will NOT help you reach that goal. Definitely do NOT spend money on this app. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. Looking forward for your reply. ### 1/5 — Cheating, lying, dirty app makers. *2017-01-13, version 1.1* This app didn't bother to check the words against a Latin dictionary. They have words like "electric meter" in here and then say the translation into Latin is "electric meter", then they had the speaker repeat the English phrase "electric meter" with a Latin accent. Ridiculous !! **Developer response:** Dear Gathly, Thanks for the feedback. As per our knowledge "Electric Meter" is "Electrica Meter" in Latin. Please point us to a source which says otherwise. We will make the change. ## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Very useful *2018-12-28, version 1.3* This app does have much locked up at the beginning, however it isn’t expensive to unlock the words/phrases. Once they are unlocked I find that this app is quite helpful in learning Latin. It shows you the words and has a speaker so you may hear how it is pronounced. ### 5/5 — Electric Tester is English is literally the exact same thing in Latin. *2017-02-11, version 1.1* This was not a mistake for the two things to be exactly the same, I researched it for a while and found that on multiple different sources in English and Latin that is what it should be. ### 5/5 — Spare a few *2016-07-19, version 1.0* If you buy the little extent, it's a excellent app! ### 4/5 — Very helpful *2018-06-21, version 1.3* I find that this app is very helpful and a great tool for someone trying to learn Latin on their own. Trying to pronounce Latin is hard when learning by oneself, but this really helps a lot ### 3/5 — Ok *2019-08-14, version 1.3* I think this app would be much better if it was free, and even if it’s still the same price for pro, I wish the free version had more things; like more verbs and nouns. Also, the audio sometimes doesn’t work, however I won’t blame them because it might be my phone. My point is that it needs to be more useful for free.
