## What is Speakloft?

Rehearse it. Nail it.

Speakloft is a private speech DELIVERY coach for the moments that matter — a wedding toast, a job interview, an investor pitch, a conference talk. It listens while you practice and turns how you speak into clear, useful numbers, then hands you a report card with concrete tips to get better.

And it does all of it 100% on your iPhone. No audio is ever recorded, nothing is uploaded, there's no account, and the app never touches the internet.

— WHY SPEAKLOFT —

Most people rehearse by reading their words. But delivery is what an audience actually feels: Are you racing? Trailing off? Filling silence with "um"? Will you fit the slot? Speakloft measures the things you can't easily judge from the inside.

— LIVE PACE METER —

As you speak, a real-time speedometer shows your words-per-minute with a green "on-pace" zone tuned to your talk type — because a heartfelt toast wants a calmer cadence than a punchy pitch. A live waveform and a running timer (that turns red if you go over target) keep you honest in the moment.

— YOUR REPORT CARD —

The instant you finish, Speakloft builds a report:

• Pace-over-time graph with shaded too-slow / on-pace / too-fast zones and markers showing exactly where you paused.
• A 0–100 delivery score, built transparently from pace control, pause discipline, filler restraint, and how close you landed to your target time.
• Headline metrics: duration, average words-per-minute, total words, and your peak pace.
• Pauses: how many, the longest one, and total silent time.
• Filler words (best-effort): a total plus a per-word breakdown for "um," "uh," "like," "you know," "so," and more.
• Coaching tips written around YOUR numbers — not generic advice.

— TRACK YOUR PROGRESS —

Save sessions to a private history and watch yourself improve. See a score-trend chart, lifetime averages, and a pace sparkline on every run. Filter by talk type to compare your pitches against your pitches. Rename, re-open, share, or delete any session anytime.

— FIVE WAYS TO PRACTICE —

• Toast — warm and unhurried, for weddings, birthdays, and retirements.
• Interview — answer crisply without rambling.
• Pitch — punchy and confident for investors or sales.
• Talk — conference talks, lectures, and keynotes.
• Freestyle — no target, just measure how you speak.

— PRIVATE BY DESIGN —

• On-device speech recognition only.
• The mic is used only while a session runs, and only with your permission.
• No audio or transcript is ever saved — Speakloft keeps the numbers, not your voice.
• No accounts. No tracking. No analytics. No ads. No network.

— HONEST ABOUT THE NUMBERS —

Pace, pauses, and duration come from timing and are your reliable headline metrics. On-device recognition can occasionally miss disfluencies, so the filler-word count is a best-effort estimate — and we label it that way everywhere it appears.

— ONE PRICE. THAT'S IT. —

Speakloft is a one-time $0.99 purchase. No subscription, no upsells, no "pro" tier hiding the good features. Buy it once, own it, use it forever.

Stop hoping it'll go well. Practice it — and walk up knowing.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.1 — 2026-06-26

This update sharpens the interface: the iPad layout now uses a centered, comfortable reading width instead of stretching edge to edge, plus small display fixes. iPhone is unchanged.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-23

Version 1.3 - "vs. Last" Session Comparison

- Compare to your last run - the report card now shows how this session compares to your most recent session of the same talk type. Score, average WPM, and filler count are each flagged improved / declined / neutral, so you know at a glance whether you're getting better.
- Personal Best detection - if this session beats every prior run for its talk type, the comparison card celebrates it and calls it out as a personal best.
- vs. Your Best - if you haven't beaten your personal best yet, a second card shows how far off the benchmark you are, so you have a concrete target.
- Iteration history strip - the saved session detail view now shows a mini bar chart of your last eight scores for that talk type, oldest to newest, so you can see the arc of your improvement at a glance.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-15

Version 1.2 — Talking Points, Session Goals, and Practice Streaks

• Talking points / cue cards — write your bullet points on the Practice screen before you start, and they appear as a cue-card panel during the 3-2-1 countdown so you can review your structure right before you speak. Stored with the session and shown again on the detail view.
• Session goals — pick a focus for each run: Score 80+, Fewer than 3 fillers/min, Hit the time target, or Steady pace (±25 wpm). After your session, the report card shows whether you nailed it or still have work to do.
• Practice streak — a day-streak counter in the History trend header shows how many consecutive days you've practiced. The count stays live and resets if you miss a day — a simple, honest nudge to keep the chain going.
• Coaching tips on saved sessions — the coaching tips from your report now also appear on the saved session detail view, so you can revisit the exact feedback you got long after closing the report.

### 1.1 — 2026-06-14

Version 1.1 — Consistency, Exports, and Smarter Coaching

• Pace Spread metric — a new ±wpm consistency score shows how steady your delivery was, not just how fast. A rock-steady cadence is now visible right on the report card.
• Expanded filler detection — now tracks 14 single-word habits (including "honestly," "totally," "basically," "clearly," "obviously," and more) plus 16 multi-word phrases like "at the end of the day," "if that makes sense," and "to be honest."
• Export to CSV — save your full session history as a spreadsheet from Settings → Data → Export as CSV. Open in Numbers or Excel to chart your progress over time.
• Personal Best badges — the History list now marks your highest-scoring session for each talk type with a green PB badge, so you always know your benchmark to beat.
• Consistency coaching tip — a new coaching card explains your pace variability and gives specific guidance if your delivery surges and drops.
