## What is Speaklone?

Create audiobooks and polished voice performances directly in the text. Speaklone analyzes your manuscript or script, identifies speakers, lets you assign voices, and helps you refine performances section by section, all entirely on your device. Clone voices from short audio clips, customize voice avatars, and generate natural speech without subscriptions, cloud processing, or usage limits.

INSTANT AUDIOBOOK CREATION

Speaklone 1.3 improves long-form speech workflows with better section handling, smoother export options, and refinements for creating longer spoken-word projects.

WORK DIRECTLY IN THE TEXT

### 3/5 — Cloned voices inconsistent

*2026-06-22*

I bought this several months ago and used it on my M4 Max Studio once to clone a voice and it worked well. Once I got a voice that sounded correct, I saved it and using the voice in TTS is consistent even today. I hadn’t used it for a bit, but I cloned several voices yesterday and saved them, but when using them they are very inconsistent to the point where each time I use them they sound like a different voice. Old cloned voices seem to still work, but new ones are inconsistent. It seems like something broke in one of the newer releases. On a side note the web site just gives a Cloudflare error.

### 3/5 — App Needs Work

*2026-04-30*

Speaklone app is nice, simple as far as the interface goes. The cloning voice aspect needs a lot of work. I recorded my voice and started working on putting an audiobook together. Once you put in your chapter and wait for it to generate with your voice, the first few seconds (15 give or take) will be fine and after that, the inflection of your voice will change, you’ll sound very monotone and dry. Using the other voices, is decent. I’ll might able to utilize the preset voices but even these don’t sound as authentic.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. You’re right that long-form cloned speech is one of the hardest parts of this kind of fully on-device voice generation, especially from very short samples. Speaklone 1.3 includes improvements for long-form and section-based generation that should help audiobook-style projects, particularly when working chapter by chapter or section by section.

The app runs locally on your Mac, so quality depends on the open voice models available today. They’re powerful, but not perfect yet. As better local models become available, I plan to add them. If you try 1.3 and still run into issues, I’d genuinely appreciate hearing more at

### 5/5 — Really awesome

*2026-03-29*

A good implementation of the latest models. Expecting it to expand and stay up to date with the latest models and updates to this type of tech. Bought it to support the dev for making this work well on iOS (and because buying software (even if its a license) is better than subscribing; thanks for offering a one-time purchase.

Hoping to maybe see integrations, what kind? Not sure yet as I’m thinking of what this app can do given the flagship price, it could be a flagship offering.

Will update this review as I use it.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for your support! So much more to come for this app. You're exactly right that the intention is to add models to the supported list over time, though sparingly, as I'd rather put the engineering into making great features and UX and then adding a new model family from time to time when there's a substantive jump. I hope you come to feel it was a bargain over time... back to work for me! (you may already know this, but the macOS version is included - it's a universal app - so if you have a Mac, try that too, because of the increased memory on that platform it's even better).

### 5/5 — Phenomenal

*2026-03-25*

This application has evolved over the last several weeks since its debut. The developer is super responsive and impressive. The cloning of voices and the voice quality has been shocking and will assist me in making my scripts for movies and audiobooks. I’m still trying to learn how to design voices but the presets and the cloning voices have been phenomenal. This application has been money well spent and it seems to be the gift that keeps on giving as developer is adding features that weren’t originally available or promised. Kudos to the developer and his team! I definitely recommend this.

### 5/5 — Did the Unthinkable—Upgraded My OS for This

*2026-03-25*

I’ve got a pretty important project in the works right now, and this software turned out to be exactly what I didn’t even realize I was missing.

It’s still early-stage, sure—but you can feel where it’s going. There’s a ton of potential here, and more importantly, the developer is clearly in it. Present, responsive, engaged… the kind of thing you don’t take for granted anymore.

When I first went to grab it, I hit a wall. It required Mac OS 26—and I was still on Sequoia.

Now, if you know me, you know I don’t jump to a new OS quickly. I give it months. Let everyone else deal with the bugs, the weird quirks… I’ll come in later when it’s stable.

But this one stuck with me.

I kept coming back to it. Thinking about it. Knowing it could genuinely help with what I’m building… and eventually I hit that point where I just couldn’t ignore it anymore.

So I reached out to the developer (again—super responsive), had a quick conversation, and then did something I never do:

I upgraded.

Even with a few things I’m still not totally sold on with the OS… I’d do it again in a heartbeat just for this.

If you’re even remotely in need of something like this, don’t overthink it. It’s an absolute steal right now for what it is—and more importantly, for what it’s clearly becoming.

Grab it.

### 5/5 — Amazing value for money

*2026-03-25*

Dylan has done an incredible job on this app. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. Quick offline voice cloning, that is reliable and easy to use. Perfect for course creators who don’t want to sit behind a microphone and try and get all the voiceover work done perfectly on the first take. The new features in v1.2 really take this to a new level with additional control over emotions with multiple cloned voices in one script. I take my hat off to Dylan - he’s super responsive on the Discord group and listening to user feedback. I wish more developers were like him.

### 5/5 — Fantastic TTS

*2026-03-15*

Speaklone is the kind of rare app where you can tell the developer obsessed over both the big features and the tiny details. More importantly, the core functionality is phenomenal; Speaklone absolutely knocks it out of the park. The fact that voices and dictation of this quality are available via a one‑time purchase is genuinely astounding.

### 5/5 — Best Indie Local TTS in the Market

*2026-03-12*

Initial Impression: I like the design of the app. It looks like a native app. Simple and minimalist. There are 9 preset voices. You can design your own preset voice, and clone your own voice too. For its price, it is competitive enough to challenge others in the space of TTS software. What I really like about this app is it is not cloud-based, you are running it locally, meaning no third-party sneaking on your data, especially your voice data. And the icing on top, you pay once, no monthly subscription. Also, I have to mention, no need to pay for every single apple OS. Single purchase for all your apple devices, mac, ipad, and iphone.

(to be continued…)

Shoutout to Dylan for making this wonderful app!

### 4/5 — Nice but…

*2026-03-12*

Works well, but the character limit on text-to-speech with cloned voices is crippling. (Good to hear developer response; I’ll switch to Mac for now.)

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review, I'm trying to expand that character count further now. While the preset voices have no hard limit, cloned voices use much more memory due to the nature of the in context learning system that makes real time cloning work. The memory budget on iOS is tight. On macOS (which you also own, it's a universal app, everyone gets both), there is no limit.

I'm going to expand this limit as far as I can without causing instability. For devices with > 8GB of memory, in particular, I am hoping to push this a lot further. (also, adding a render in pieces option to workaround the limit for others). So many improvements coming soon. I think you'll be pleased with the progress to ensure this remains the absolute state of the art for local speech technology on Apple Silicon.

### 3/5 — Nice but…

Works well, but the character limit on text-to-speech with cloned voices is crippling.
