Super time saver. *2019-05-01, version 2.27.20* I have tried several different software systems for completing my home inspections and Spectacular is by far the best that I have used. Spectacular is extremely easy to use and provides an extraordinary finished product. My customers frequently comment on the thoroughness and readability of my reports. Spectacular really compliments my inspections style and helps me to generate a hight quality product for my customers. Lastly I have been able to save HOURS on the reporting side of the business. I am able to inspect using my iPad mini and generate the majority of the report on site. Oh and support is outstanding. Aaron is on top of it. Highly recommend you give this app a try. I’ve been using Spectacular now for one year and couldn’t be happier. I’ve been self employed for over twenty years and completed thousands of inspections. I’ve looked at everything out there and downloaded several inspection platforms. Spectacular has been the easiest and best software to use and offers so much in available features. Updates are often (and free) and support is top notch! Now I don’t have to spend so much time completing reports in the evening thanks to this software (and I’ve received several compliments on the report quality from clients and realtors). I researched several other types of systems and platforms, palm tech, HomeGauge ect. I decided on Spectacular and I have to say how elated I am. This encompasses everything an inspector needs at your fingertips. They have already thought of it. The “subscription”, annually, I’m not crazy about, however, this multi inspector operating platform will take my business to the next level. I am left impressed and thrilled I made the right choice. Other developers are behind. Choose spectacular. However, computers are a “necessary evil” for my job. I have tried numerous programs, and even hired a person to make a program for me over the period of a year, and nothing has compared to this product. It’s really quite simple to customize, once you get the hang of it. When I mess up, which is embarrassingly all too often, I can always count on Aaron, the developer, to quickly get me back up and running again. He and the program are great! I wish I had discovered this gem at the beginning of my career. Spectacular reports, spectacular ability to customize, and spectacular customer support. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, a reasonable price...got that too! ### 5/5 — Why did we resist for so long?!? *2018-10-03, version 2.27.7* My husband Bob and I are the owners of Inspections by Bob in Maryland. A few years ago, we finally decided to stop using carbonless paper reports and switched to digital. We researched different offerings, and chose... a different one than this. Although it was fairly flexible, and we liked it for the first year or two, it started getting buggy and bogged down, and their capable tech support disappeared, leaving us struggling to deal with ever-increasing report writing times. Finally we had had enough, and started our search over again, dreading the prospect of having to go through the same pain of setting up a new system. We had originally looked at Spectacular, but had ruled it out because it was subscription-based, and we didn’t like that model. This time around, we took another look, and realized it fit all our needs, and then some. The fabulous support contact, Aaron, assured us that he could take our current database and port it over onto the Spectacular platform. And less than a day later, there it was! All of the features our previous software claimed couldn’t be done (permanent photos and comments; ability to attach an appendix; better photo management; many more) are in Spectacular. Bob calls it “Ragu” because “it’s in there.” There was still some tweaking to do, and a bit of a learning curve, but within a week we were up and running, and reporting with Spectacular. Holy cow, what a difference in productivity! With our previous software, it ran so slowly that it was impossible to use it on site, meaning we had to do all the report writing back in the office. And the lag in the software meant we could spend two to three hours getting the report done! Now, when we leave the job site, we are about 90% done, and all that is left are minor edits. Within half an hour or less, the report is done, generated, and uploaded directly to ISN (our old software didn’t “talk” to ISN). Our clients love the reports, and we sure like having our evenings back! ### 5/5 — So versatile and customizable *2018-09-19, version 2.27.6* I’ve used Spectacular for about three years and have loved it! I had previously used two well know systems that were very frustrating and glitchy. It is endlessly customizable and allows me to create a truly custom in-depth report without spending my nights staring at my IPad. My clients love the pictures and the occasional video I insert into the report. As much as I love the app, the customer service is, well, Spectacular. The few times I reached for help or questions I had a rapid response, and not from a help line, but from THE developer. Save your self a lot of head aches. Most of the real estate agents and customers tell me the reports are the best and the most professional they have ever seen. Spectacular's customer service is off the charts! I email customer support with questions and I receive answers within minutes...even when I ask questions late at night. I never have any problems with the software, but I have had some questions about how to do certain things and my technical support questions are answered within minutes. My job would be much more difficult without Spectacular and I cannot imagine doing my job without their APP and support. I would not ever use another APP for my business. 07/12/2018: Update....I have been using this app for almost three years now. I would never use any other app for home inspections. I have needed technical support a few times and my questions have always been answered within minutes. Their level of customer service is unbelievable. You can start out with their core report and make it your own. And the report is clean and detailed. ### 5/5 — Literally the best *2018-02-24, version 2.26* This app comes pre-populated with plenty of helpful comments for reports but its ability to save custom comments , permanently flag comments, and edit photos is super helpful. I used to spend 2 hours tweaking reports on other software; I now just have to spend minutes thanks to this app. ### 5/5 — Very powerful *2017-12-17, version 2.24.3* This is definitely a fantastic app for home inspections. It is incredibly powerful, nearly everything can be customized. It creates great reports that are easy to understand. It’s definitely a little intimidating at first with all the features and the depth of it, but you get the hang of it and will appreciate all you can do with it. It’s not a cheap app, but if you care about the quality of your reports then it is worth the price, especially with how responsive the developer is in support and pushing out updates. The app is highly adaptive and I have yet to run into an issue that prevents me from creating a good report. The graphics in the app feel 15 years old, and I wish I could upload a higher resolution business logo as well as more than 2 credential logos to use in my reports. Every time I have called for help with the software the same person answers the phone. He is very knowledgeable and will give you tips on how to proceed and improve on. The customers love the clean reports that are easy to read. Taking pictures and documenting is easy as well. I can do my report as I am inspecting. The customers love the fact that they do not have to wait on a report to done after the inspection is over with. I just email the report within minutes of the completion of the inspection. Great product and I highly recommend using it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE *2018-11-19, version 2.27.10* They coned us into purchasing this software by volunteering to place all of our info. From our old reporting software into spectacular. Little did I know the information installed would be in the wrong locations leaving it basically useless. The customer service is poor and there are no webinars or videos to support how to use the software - just a very small worded users guide which is confusing and impractical. Plus, they did not even give us our $100 Internachi discount. The report looks good to me and my clients and realtors have told me that the report is much better than my old reporting software. One of my realtor connections said when I asked if they liked the sample they said we didn't think that there was anything wrong with the old report but this one is much better and easier to read! I switched to my iPhone to continue with the inspection while charging the iPad in the truck. I then switched back to the iPad to finish up the inspection. When I returned to the office and both devices had Wi-Fi, I was so pleased to see everything already loaded together on both devices, making a complete report in both locations. I just wanted to reach out and say thank you, after 10 years I am still so incredibly satisfied with this software. I imagine you probably don’t get much feedback from people (my self included) other than complaints when things aren’t working. Just wanted to drop you a note saying thank you for making my job so much easier. Don’t look any further this program is well created and customizable. ### 5/5 — Best of Breed *2020-04-12, version 2.28.12* Home inspectors are a small overall audience and there are only a handful of fully empowered vendors. Spectacular is one of them. What does that mean? It means they area real company, with support, bug tracking, decent off-the-shelf library and all the mandatory features and integrations WITHOUT bloat. So many tie you too, "included at no charge" so many other duplicate features... I have a scheduling system, ISN, I have an archive system, I have a billing system, etc... Spectacular works on PCs (win10), iPads, iPhones and android. You can move inspections between platforms, start on your tablet in the field, and move it and finish it on your desktop. You can do multiple inspector inspections with the software "syncing" whenever the inspectors get within Wifi range of each other, there is even a "realtor watch" that lets attending realtors see what your are doing in near real-time. It does video, has "permanent photos" to include in your comments, multiple libraries, templates, and more. Yes it has -options- for "repair pricing" from a variety of vendors. Combine that with ISN's capabilities and there isn't much you can't do. It -can- complete the entire inspection AND do the report generation in the field without any cloud/internet needed, but I typically want to review mine on a BIG screen before I send mine out, so I review it as a DRAFT in the field with the client and send out a "final" once I am happy with it. If they are really in a rush you can issue a complete/finished report from your tablet in the field with airdrop so you don't even have to go find a WiFi or hotspot. Most are happy to get the reports within 24-hours. Does it do everything, no. But what it does it does well, quickly, and every time. Problems, yes occasionally, as every product does, but support is quick and seems to always be there when we need them. Pricing is competitive for both the Solo and multiple inspector. It is a subscription, but with options for low usage inspectors. Happy to discuss (email) it with anyone who has questions. It has become an indispensable software platform for my home inspection business and keeps getting better with the improvements Aaron and his team constantly make to the program. It’s a very customizable platform which is very important to me. I was more than frustrated with every other inspection report writing platform I had tried until I started using this. Almost quit the business over it actually. Support has been good as well although I wouldn’t call it spectacular. The development team is accesible though which is a big plus so not docking any pints here.
