### 3/5 — Error code 3302

*2026-08-30, version 1.5.5*

App is currently unusable with an iPhone 17PM. Every time I try to use it I get an error code message. Please fix asap as it was a useful app to have in my arsenal

### 3/5 — Keeps crashing

*2026-06-14, version 1.5.5*

Every time I try and take a picture the entire app crashes

### 3/5 — Sounded good, but disappointed once installed

*2026-06-04, version 1.5.5*

I have tried a few cameras over the years trying to make my iPhone be a decent substitute for my Nikon DSLR, so I gave Spectre a try. (I did not pay for the Pro feature(s) which may help, but I was severely underwhelmed! In its base form it appears it does not offer any features that the included camera does not. The only thing I saw that was slightly interesting is the included "AI", on a long shutter, slowly begins to make moving objects in the field of view disappear, but since (without paying) it will only give a 3 second exposure, the objects just become blurred blobs if color.
I tried to set the shutter time up to 5 seconds, but this just pops their ad wanting you to buy the Pro version.
Overall there is nothing "wrong" with Spectre, but it doesn't offer anything more than the built-in camera and actually has less options.
I'm sorry but I'll just have to pass and continue my search for the perfect camera app.

### 2/5 — Requires internet

*2026-05-19, version 1.5.5*

For no reason, this app requires internet to use, even after paying. Makes this app useless for a lot of cases.

### 2/5 — Very limited

*2026-01-21, version 1.5.5*

Free app only allows 3 sec exposure, same as my iPhone. Longer exposures require monthly subscription.

### 4/5 — Last update has broken mode switch

*2025-11-07, version 1.5.5*

Works exactly as it always did as long as you don’t rotate the phone to change from portrait to landscape (or vice versa if originally opened in landscape. Instead end up with a squashed square “window”, that then stays when rotating the phone. Need to close app to get working again.
Using iPhone 16 pro on iOS 18.7
5 star app but only 4 due to this issue.

### 3/5 — Currently unusable

*2025-10-15, version 1.5.5*

I’ve been using Spectre for years but currently the app is unusable on my iPhone 16 pro max. The image on the screen is usually 90° out of phase with what I’m looking at and the few times that it has ‘worked’ has resulted in very distorted images. Deleting and reloading has not resolved this. I’ve emailed for support.

### 3/5 — Misleading free features

*2025-10-06, version 1.5.5*

Seems that you need to upgrade to get 30-sec exposures. That is not clarified until after you install the app.

### 3/5 — Be careful - if you have no cellular connection

*2025-09-28, version 1.5.5*

Be careful taking long exposure photos in areas where you have no cellular connection. The app appears to ‘phone home’ to confirm you are able to take long exposures. Without a cellular connection, if you have paid for the full ‘unlocked’ model it may restrict you to exposures of only 3 seconds length. That’s been my recent experience. Otherwise I would have rated the app 5 stars.

### 2/5 — Processed image is abit Blurry

*2025-09-23, version 1.5.5*

It is a good software
But it has one disappointing feature compared to the "cortex camera" that I use and it has a similar technique in photography to merge multiple photos into one photo to reduce image noise, but the images are recorded a bit blurry which is noticeable when zoomed in.
Of course I also used it on a tripod but the cortex camera image is clearer

### 4/5 — Interesting app

*2025-08-14, version 1.5.4*

I have recently started using this camera app and I do enjoy the ability to easily set longer exposures and the stability control as I typically attempt awkward shots. -Freddie

### 4/5 — ok

*2025-07-31*

c super mais c dommage que l’on peux pas mettre plus de 5 secondes gratuitement. A part ça, c super ça marche très bien

### 3/5 — Alright

*2025-07-27, version 1.5.4*

It’s alright, all this pretty much does is the object removal/waterfall effect, so if you’re looking for long exposure as in shutter speed or bulb mode, look elsewhere.

### 3/5 — Almost there

*2025-07-17, version 1.5.4*

This would get a 5 star, if, developers utilise the camera control on the newer iphones, allow shorter exposures for icm, and possibly add abilility to use volume button to start AND stop exposures. Do that and id happily have this app on my front screen. Id love to hear if any of the above are planned.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t use error every time

*2026-09-02, version 1.5.5*

The operation couldn’t be completed. (PHPhotosErrorDomain error 3302.) error everytime. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and made sure it had all permissions. Unusable to take any photos

### 1/5 — Error 3302 and support doesn’t respond

*2026-09-01, version 1.5.5*

No response from support. App stops working after you pay for it

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2026-08-29, version 1.5.5*

I have been using Spectre for several years. Suddenly it no longer works. I get this message: The operation couldn’t be completed. (PHPhotosErrorDomain error 3302.)

### 1/5 — watch out

*2026-06-24, version 1.5.5*

if you’re anywhere with a poor or no connection & purchased long exposures, you won’t have access to them. it’s really frustrating, since you aren’t always in a perfect signal location to be shooting. additionally contacting for support can be tough since the in app flow crashes 100% of the time, so you’ll have to find their contact through other means

### 1/5 — Does not work out of cell coverage

*2026-01-01, version 1.5.5*

Although this app charges for full access, you cannot use the features you have paid for if you are outside of cellphone coverage.

### 1/5 — Very hard to cancel subscription.

*2025-09-19, version 1.5.4*

Literally zero advantages to this and does not work on my iPhone 14. Just use default. Also no buttons I can find to cancel subscription.

### 1/5 — Support email is dead. Am I missing something ?

*2025-07-06, version 1.5.4*

App is dead. Email support comes back not found.
the free app to test it out. 3 second exposure.
Nada.
Don’t I just set it to 3 seconds and press the green button?

What am I doing wrong.?
Confused in Calcutta

### 1/5 — Blank screen

*2025-05-30, version 1.5.4*

Screen stays blank

### 1/5 — Nothing special about this app. It’s not worth it!

*2025-04-05, version 1.5.4*

Junk

### 1/5 — My iPhone camera is better for long exposure.

*2024-12-23, version 1.5.4*

I regret the loss of money on this. My iPhone pro max takes way better long exposure photos than this app. I respect what they tried to do and perhaps this was good for previous versions of the phone, but this app was a waste of money for me and I regret buying it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-05-26, version 1.5.5*

Great so that I use for slow shutter emulations. It really does a great job.

### 5/5 — Raw support?

*2026-02-20, version 1.5.5*

Love the app. I wanted to know if the paid version supports Raw or PNG so I can upgrade

### 5/5 — This is so good I haven’t yet

*2026-01-08, version 1.5.5*

You know I just like it a lot a lot a lot a lot some pies and again it just the hide you know I didn’t download this yet. I don’t have it on my iPhone and I do over exact.

### 5/5 — Unglaublich kreative Möglichkeiten

*2025-11-16*

### 5/5 — Love the app!

*2025-11-03*

Vivid, crisp and pleasant colours.

### 5/5 — Best Camera

*2025-08-20, version 1.5.4*

GREAT QUALITY

### 5/5 — 좋지만

*2025-08-05*

### 5/5 — Convenient

*2025-08-03, version 1.5.4*

Have enjoyed this app for years. Recently tried a different paid app as it allowed 2 second exposure which sometimes I need. But that paid app required a phone to be on a tripod which is ridiculous. Hopefully this app in the future could add 2 second exposure.

### 5/5 — The best

*2025-07-26, version 1.5.4*

This is the best of several long exposure apps that I have tried. It’s particularly good if you are trying to create an impressionist image through intentional camera movement. It takes a bit of trial and error to find what works best. Being able to use live camera mode and subsequently chose exactly the optimum exposure duration really helps.

### 5/5 — Awesome long exposure photos

*2025-06-28, version 1.5.4*

I’ve been using this app for several years and still get a buzz when using it -particularly for scenes with moving water such as waterfalls or waves on rocks.
