## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2019-03-28, version 1.9.4*

App is terrible.
Can’t rename lights in the main screen. Need to click on the light to see which it is.
Music doesn’t work
Lights keep disappearing
Wish I’d got different lights.

### 1/5 — Mess

*2018-07-06, version 1.9*

I suggest the company work towards integrating their hardware into other apps and hubs, or opening up the hardware specs for the community to undertake the development. This app is a mess.

### 1/5 — Music defective!

*2018-05-19, version 1.9*

FIXXXXXXXX!!!!!!????

### 1/5 — Can’t find the light on iPhoneX

*2018-05-19, version 1.9*

Can not find connection to the light in the app. I have tried to reinstall the app and tried rescanning in the app still can’t get it to work in the app to control the colours.

The Bluetooth connection is working for the music

### 1/5 — Update

*2017-02-05, version 1.0*

It wont work for me cause it only compatible with IOS7.0 or later and cant down grade my phone

### 2/5 — Only accessible via one phone until I updated app

*2017-03-19, version 2*

I utilize the red function to help with my daughter's sleeping.
I had her dad download the app to control the light while I was away and when I returned I had no access to turn the light on or off. Is this something you've fixed in the most recent update?

### 3/5 — Much room for improvement.

*2021-12-28, version 1.9.4*

A nice colour range and nice and bright, however my sister also uses this same bulb and the app confuses the two bulbs more often than not. Both timers and music options do not work which is the whole reason I bought this lightbulb -.-

### 3/5 — Works well enough!!

*2018-12-21, version 1.9.4*

Not sure why I can’t seem to save a colour to my timers, it only appears to give me the option of the different whites!!! Could have just installed normal lights with a timer for that type of functionality. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong!!!

### 3/5 — RGB works great, but music fails!

*2018-09-05, version 1.9.4*

The RGB functionality and the physical brightness of the LED is great.
However, the app looks like a 5 year old with a computer designed it.

The music function of the app opens and links to Apple Music fine, but when you click on a song nothing starts playing and the light does not flash... fix please??

### 3/5 — Good App but needs to be updated

*2018-08-10, version 1.9.4*

As an electrician I am always trying push new products on to people. I have installed these lights and the app is Great But is in desperate need could of an update. Needs possibly better new and better features, app is a little slow to navigate. Music doesn’t work. Please update

## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It’s really good

*2018-07-12*

It’s really Good and the development and changes updates are awesome.. don’t believe low reviews.. I’m guessing they haven’t worked out how to set up

### 4/5 — Awesome light, music sync works, but....

*2019-02-22, version 1.9.4*

I just purchased one of these lights to test as I want to purchase about 30 of these for a building project. The hardware is impressive and the light output outstanding.

I used my iPhone 6s and downloaded the latest Brilliant Spectrum app. This light connects with Bluetooth. It connected quite easily and changing light colours happens instantly. When I tried to play music, the app on the iPhone failed fortunately. My music synced but I couldn’t press the play button to play. It was rather frustrating.

I then used an old Samsung Galaxy S4 my young son inherited from me. I downloaded the Spectrum app and alas my music synced and the lights were changing to the music. The lights do not beat in sync with the beat of a song but the light does change nevertheless. Once you stop or pause a song, so does the light.

I am hoping there’s an update to the app for iPhones but a technician at Brilliant told me not to hold my breath. He did mention that in a couple of months new ‘equivalent’ models were coming out to market in their home automation range. The new ‘spectrum equivalent’ downlight will connect to your phone or network wirelessly not through Bluetooth which means that you will be able to control the lights at home through your app anywhere in the world. Not bad.

### 4/5 — Good

*2019-02-17, version 1.9.4*

Enjoy the customisation of the app and lights but they need to incorporate Spotify into the music part for non apple users

### 3/5 — Not Bad

*2017-11-08, version 1.9*

Music support could be better
Integrating with ITunes library or artist selection

### 3/5 — Not bad.

*2017-10-09, version 1.9*

I have been using this light for around 3 months now and ...

1. You need to update so you can have a quick launch / adjust toggle from control centre or widget screen.

2. Would be nice to incorporate with Apple home app.

3. I’m not sure if this is possible but it would be nice to have it turn on automatically when you walk in the room. I understand this may not be possible with the hardware in side but I’m just saying... that would be cool.

Over all I think the light bulb it’s self is really good and surprising colour range with RGB but the app lets it down big time. Simply its to slow by the time you pick up your phone - unlock it - find the app - open the app - find the bulb - connect to the bulb and finally turning on the light....😤

Widget toggle!
Control centre toggle !

K GO!
