### 5/5 — Original and wonderful!

*2020-11-26, version 0.66*

Fantastic sound tools which feature resonance synthesis for your audio pleasure. Thank you to the developer who has shared these wonderful apps which are fantastic for Electronic or experimental music. Looking forward to more from this developer.

### 5/5 — Absolute beast of an app

*2020-07-24, version 0.66*

I came across this app by chance.
I have been twiddling with the mutable instrument patches on Organelle for the last few months but this is next level.
The amount of sound mangling you can do on this is insane.
And it’s free????
Using it thru AUM firing random midi is so much fun:)

Keep up the amazing work mate!!!
Thanks again:)

### 5/5 — Ridiculous this is free

*2020-05-29, version 0.66*

This blows a lot of the expensive iOS synths out the water, just scratched the surface so far but if I’d discovered this first I wouldn’t have bought many others. Pretty much an auv3 version of Mutable Instruments Elements and Rings -gratis.Many thanks Mr Burns.

### 5/5 — Had to leave a review when I saw...

*2020-05-10, version 0.66*

Had to leave a review when I saw someone complain they only work as audio unit plug ins. Garageband is free! These are beautiful, carefully made instruments, and Spectrum has MPE support and works great on my Roli Lightpad. This is a gift!

### 5/5 — Bet on the market?

*2020-05-10, version 0.66*

Using just the Spectrum synthesizer alone, just about anything can be done - from smooth leads and cutting-edge basses to swirling pads and epic drones to atmospheric soundscapes and sound effects. Add to that the awesome power of the Modal and Resonator synthesizers... Spectrum is probably the best bargain out there for AUv3, period.

The question is not “what can it do.” The question is “what CAN’T it do”... and for the record, that’s a hard question to answer.

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2020-03-02, version 0.66*

A wonderful collection of Auv3's.

I can see lots of fun ahead.

Thank you

Update.

Racked up all of the modules in AUM.

They're brilliant.

### 5/5 — Old UI was far better on portable devices such as the iPhone m

*2020-01-18, version 0.66*

Dear developer,

You are a legend when it comes to granular synthesis, your plugin is marvelous and I’ve tried them all on iOS at least.

I hope you will consider bringing back the old UI as an option at least since it was way more practical on phones (where I do most of my music), portrait mode was way easier to handle before than it is now ; everything is incredibly small and it feels necessary to utilize the whole screen to make changes - this wasn’t the case before and it was far smoother as an experience.

The new look DOES look better tho, although that is somewhat secondary imho.

I’ve also been experiencing lots of crashes since the previous update but now that I realize that this has been updated again I will try it out and let you know if any of the glitches are still present on this update.

Thank you for offering these for free - I would have gladly paid for them though. Fantastic work.

### 5/5 — Absolutely brilliant!

*2020-01-17, version 0.66*

Very inspiring! Love it all! Thanks!!

### 5/5 — Good idea, hoping for a paid version

*2020-01-16, version 0.66*

It is a good basic integration of the source code. Can't really complain with it being a freebie, except for the use of tedious stepping menus instead of drop down ones*.
I'd happily pay for an advanced version with standalone app(s), proper GUI and extensive modulation/control.
Thanks for the effort!

*EDIT: recent updates deserve 5 stars

### 5/5 — Absolutely Amazing

*2019-12-16, version 0.6*

These sound generators (simulated physical phenomena) are so different to conventional synths, and the sounds are amazing. You can get the Mutable documents for fuller explanation of what's going on. I've made short lists of what the knobs do for the various modes; the referenced links are not too helpful since the knob names are not shown. If you hate getting so much for free, you can buy the author's Synth Modes app.

### 5/5 — Can’t wait for more modules if he does them!

*2019-11-30, version 0.6*

Sooooo soooo needed in the app market! Thank you for bringing this to us! I love your other app too, great job.

### 5/5 — Powerful Plugins!

*2019-08-29, version 0.5*

I’m so happy with this app, Mutable Instrument’s Eurorack modules are amazing and it’s super fun to have software ports I can carry around in my pocket! I’m glad this is free, it’s really impressive considering the prices of similar apps - for example, Ripplemaker is about $10, yet I use these just as often! I would love to see more Mutable ports, maybe Ripples or Stages, but I can’t complain, these are wonderfully fun! Essential for anyone messing with iOS music!

### 5/5 — 10 stars out of a possible 5 stars is right

*2019-08-21, version 0.4*

Too cool for words (and other people said it better)

### 5/5 — Control

*2019-07-18, version 0.3*

Lovin’ this app . Oh ..... so much control . All free ?? 5 + star al the way !!

### 5/5 — Brilliant and unusual synth app - for free!

*2019-07-15, version 0.3*

As a dedicated virtual soundscape noodler, I’m always on the lookout for for unusual and creative sound generators, and this eurorack style stack of oddness certainly hits the bill - and for free, too. Try it paired with Autony and Cality for generative wonderfulness. Props to the dev for a great thing. :)

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Works great on iOS, not on macOS

*2022-04-28, version 0.7*

On macOS, creates massive feedback. I caution you not to download it for desktop use.

### 1/5 — AU

*2020-03-21, version 0.66*

I’m disappointed that these are Audio Units, needing some kind of DAW (costing money) or something like a full (big in megabytes) GarageBand install to operate.

I assumed they’d just be an app, bam, load them up and mess around. That’s what IOS synths are all about IMHO, easy, accessible fun synths to play around with. I don’t want the complexity of a DAW on my iPhone, just some nice synths to mess around with and multisample into my vintage hardware samplers.

So I’m giving this one star until the developer sees fit to create a standalone version that works without any monotonous work.

### 2/5 — Compatibility issues with IPhone 6?

*2019-10-09, version 0.5*

I’m enjoying all of the sounds I’m hearing, but the formatting is horrible when I use it in GarageBand. I can’t see most of the parameters. Should I be using it with another app instead?

### 4/5 — Don’t sleep on this one.

*2026-07-08, version 0.7*

Deep and capable of a lot of crazy modulation, has a distinct character all its own and excels at unique, fluid, flowing soundbeds.

Only caveat: crashes more than it should.

### 4/5 — Man I want to love this plug-in

*2021-01-24, version 0.66*

Everything sounds awesome in this plug-in! The only issue I have is that my songs won’t export from GarageBand iOS when this plug-in is enabled. What can I do? This is one of the lushes synths I’ve ever heard!

### 4/5 — Audio units OK - where’s Granular?

*2019-07-05, version 0.1*

Tried Audiobus3, AUM, and GarageBand. Granular only shows up in audiobus3 - but can’t be launched. Spectrum, modal, and resonator all work ok.

### 5/5 — Don’t sleep on this one.

*2025-12-05, version 0.7*

Deep and capable of a lot of crazy modulation, has a distinct character all its own and excels at unique, fluid, flowing soundbeds.

### 5/5 — Sounds Incredible, super lite, absolute beast AU’s

*2025-02-20, version 0.7*

Just incredible. I use it all the time- so versatile, lite and just an absolute sonic gem. I’ve never heard anything negative about the Spectrum bundle. The creator also has this eurorack synth cheat sheet that is also extremely useful.

If you don’t like it, simply delete it.
However, if you love it (most likely). Please consider showing some love with an honest review.

I appreciate Thomas Burns contribution to my musical betterment and the accessibility to all. Fantastic stuff

### 5/5 — Sounds Incredible, super lite, absolute beast AU’s

*2025-02-06*

Just incredible

### 5/5 — Awesome free synths!

*2024-02-07, version 0.7*

These synths are based off of mutable instrument modules and they sound great! You can get some real interesting sounds out of these things! Thanks to the developer!

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app but description misleading!!

*2023-04-09, version 0.7*

Hello developer ! I love this app however there is no granular synth ???? The description includes the granular synth however upon purchase , it is missing ! I suggest bring back granular or take it out of description thank you .

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2022-07-01, version 0.7*

It is everything I was looking for! The sounds that come out of this are heavenly and the fact that it’s all totally free is just unbelievably kind of the creator. Only problem is that the modal synthesizer doesn’t work on its own!

### 5/5 — Mutable Instrument EuroRack

*2022-03-05, version 0.7*

For the price, this is one of the most valuable audio units available.

Initially I wasn’t using this bundle as much, but it’s become a reliable tool in the MPC PRO2 App and unlike other apps, it doesn’t ever crash out the host or just plain not load.

Excellent tools!

The UI is pretty stripped down, but in the end, you want to hear it, You don’t have to look at it.

### 5/5 — Rawsome Sound Designer

*2021-08-19, version 0.7*

I Just S H O C K E D ⚡️Sounds like hardware, RAW.
This is pure sound design app and also surprisingly FREE. God Bless you Thomas

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2021-05-20*

Keep up the good work

### 5/5 — Testing out some modules

*2021-03-17, version 0.66*

I think I found this app in a forum for discussing modular gear. I was not sure if I wanted to get Rings, so I was ecstatic to see someone made a free app emulation to try it out. Unfortunately, now I also want to buy Elements and Plaits! Terrific app though, and I really do appreciate you putting this out there. Thank you!
