## What is SpeechCanvas?

SpeechCanvas（スピーチキャンバス）は、聴覚障害者と健聴者との会話を支援するアプリです。

話した言葉が次々と画面上で文字になり、ふりがな付きで文字になります。画面を指でなぞれば絵や字がかけます。操作がシンプルでわかりやすいので、どなたでも簡単に使えます。
インターネットがつながらなくても音声認識してくれるので、電波の届かないところ、災害時など、いつでもどこでも安心です。
公共機関の窓口応対や店頭での接客サービス、職場や学校、ご家庭など、生活のさまざまなシーンでお使いいただけます。加齢による難聴といった、耳の聞こえにくい高齢者の方との会話も可能です。
情報通信研究機構(NICT)の研究成果である高精度な音声認識技術を活用しています。

■特徴
１．音声と筆談で会話がスムーズ
健聴者はことばを話し、聴覚障害者は筆談で応えることで、手話が使えなくてもより自然で円滑なコミュニケーションができます。公的機関の窓口や接客カウンター、学校などに常備しておけばやりとりがぐっとスムーズに。

２．話した言葉が、ふりがな付きで次々と文字になる
連続して話した内容が、次々と流れるように文字に変換されます。文字は、ふりがな付きで表示されるので、漢字が苦手な方とのコミュニケーションも安心です。
*ふりがな機能は研究開発中のため、正しく表示されない場合もあります。

３．指で簡単に修正が可能
音声認識された文字が間違っていても、指でなぞるだけのシンプルな操作で、すぐに修正できます。修正は、音声でもキーボード入力でもＯＫです。

４．よく使うフレーズや写真を登録できる
よく使う画像やフレーズを、お気に入りに登録できます。たとえば、メニューの写真を登録しておけば、お客さまが来た時にすぐ表示できるなど、便利に使える機能です。

５．対話の履歴を有効活用
対話の履歴を後から見ることができます。
しかも、履歴の中からよく使うフレーズを選んでお気に入りに登録したり、履歴のテキストデータをメールで送信したりすることも可能。履歴を活用すれば、コミュニケーションがさらに広がります。

６．電波の届かない場所でも使える
サーバに接続できない場合でも、組み込み型の音声認識を使用して、話した音声を文字に変換できます。場所を問わず、どこでも使えるから安心です。

友だちが、聴覚障害で少しでもストレスなく話したくて、使い始めました。
iPhoneだけでなくAndroidでも、使えればすごくいいと思います。

まだ、家族間でしか使ってないのでよくわかりませんが、感音性難聴の人には便利かも。
ただ、ちょっと慣れるまでは使いこなすのが難しいかな。
