## What is Speed Alarm?

Speed has been designed to use Maps and GPS to provide an indication of your current speed and location, with the ability to set an alarm to trigger at a set speed. This app also has a database which you can populate with predefined placemark icons using the buttons provided or by manual input. 

An additional alarm can be turned on to indicate proximity to your defined placemarks.

Speed measurements can be displayed in MPH, KPH, Knots and Mach. The "Mirror" feature allows the device image to be correctly displayed on a reflective surface, such as a vehicle windscreen. 

Navigating to a stored placemark or POI can be done from the Placemark detail view, which launches the Maps application with the required details.

If your screen isn't on and the app running on the screen, alarm doesn't work.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. Speed Alarm is a visual app and is not intended to function as a background app, and is why there is a feature in the settings menu to disable the sleep mode which will prevent the device from dropping into its sleep/background mode. We would encourage you to download the latest update and try out this feature and also some of the new features which provide pre loaded Points of Interest.

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

1. This update includes the ability to receive audio alarms when the app is in the background. 
Simply create some Placemarks, go to settings and set the "proximity Alarm" to ON. Then return to the main view and walk or drive towards the Placemark when the app is in background. Then, when you are within the desired range of the Placemark an Audio DING should be heard.

2. NEW pre Loaded Placemarks added for over 1000 French fuel stations. 
Select the menu icon and choose pre Loaded Placemarks from the two buttons.Scroll down the list to FRA Petrol Stations. You can see a list of all Petrol Stations by selecting the cell and then see a detail view of the Petrol station selected, Or you can turn on the Placemarks by using the switch in the table cell. This will populate the map in the main view.

Due to this apps popularity in Denmark, over 100 new Placemarks have been added for Speedcams in this region, and available through the In-App purchase option.

Performance improvements for iOS 11 users, which supports Clustering of the Points of interest (POI) when the map is scaled down.

1. Over 6700 Pre loaded POI's added for UK Petrol stations, free to show on the map view
2. Fixed bug which prevented users from changing the Alarm chime sound in the previous update. now you can choose from 7 different alarm chimes
3. Updated the "Menu" icon to make it more obvious that this has a different function from the place mark icons.
