Some events are a bit unbalanced, and can be problematic. Couple events have issues, specifically the ‘Epilogue - Skyward Takedown’ event on the Gateway Bridge w/the ‘Stingray’ vehicle; guided missile tracking is wonky and not enough ‘Demons’ to encounter to meet the goal of 3 Stars. It can be very difficult at times to know which car is you; could be nice to have the option to select your car color. Online racing could be a nice added feature down the road! **Developer response:** Very sorry about the lost progress. We're working with Apple to try to figure out a better way to make the save issues less confusing and frustrating. The most common reason for lost progress is signing in (or out) of Game Center. Each GC user (or not being logged in) is a separate save slot. Next big update will add more stuff to give you more info about slot mismatches and add a backup save. ### 4/5 — Addictive Driving Game *2022-04-10, version 1.6.1* I love this game! It has simple controls that are easy to learn yet difficult to master. The randomly generated traffic makes changes it up so you can’t memorize the levels. One issue, though, is that the game crashes when I try to select a car for the open alpha cup. I haven’t tried the other open cups, but I assume they are the same. ### 3/5 — driving kinda feels bad *2022-04-01, version 1.6.1* overall, I can tell a lot of work went into this, but it all kind of comes together a little weird. the driving with both two thumbs and one feels a little too sticky, and it's totally possible to avoid stuff, but the game actually has levels where the entire point is to smash into other cars. I really expected more of a racing game for a game about racing, but it's pretty pointless to try to tighten your lines when there's randomly generated semi trucks in your way. its just kind of inconvenient. also I feel like the almost perpendicular camera angle is a pretty big oversight, it really takes a lot of the punch out of stuff. maybe moved back so it's closer to 50 degrees would be more engaging. idk i really wanna like it ### 3/5 — Good game but horrible developers *2022-02-27, version 1.6.1* I don’t even know why they do this but every time that I am so close to winning a round they just kill me off or have me come so close to winning. That is just extremely mean. Why do they have us come so close to winning. However when you get to the last section of chapter 1 where you have to choose which car to use, my game keeps crashing after I click on a car and as a result has made those levels unplayable. I would easily give this game 5 stars but until that is fixed i’m going to have to give it 3 stars which is a shame. Please fix this bug as soon as possible! ### 3/5 — Bad controls *2021-09-16, version 1.5.2* The game doesn’t respond well to touch controls, often the steering doesn’t respond. The worst of all is the fact that it forces a portrait mode and my iPhone controller (backbone) needs landscape. Other than that the game itself is a bit boring really… I normally do like race games, but this doesn’t excite me. At first I found this game quite difficult but after getting over the overall mechanics in 20 minutes, I was hooked. The courses and the challenges are all different and make you want to try to beat you old time and get more stars. Previous arcade games try too hard to capture that aspect of it, and this one does it perfectly. Hopefully this company decides to make more Apple Arcade games in the future. Because it’s one of those games where you make a bunch of progress…and then all that progress gets wiped out because of bad coding and programming and you have to start all over again. This game has deleted my progress TWICE. I have screenshots that show I’ve completed 11/18 Achievements…and yet if I want to play I have to start from the beginning and replay every single race and challenge that I’ve already played TWICE. Seems like if you want people to play your game you wouldn’t want them to have to start over again and again. Seems like a pretty major flaw that your progress can’t be saved. So I’m deleting this garbage and moving on to something that actually works. ### 1/5 — Game is designed to be impossible and stressful *2020-07-11, version 1.3.1* That chase game mode is broken and impossible. 3.87 meters to go, but before you can even reach the halfway point you are already at less than a quarter of health because there are literally an infinite amount of vehicles and obstacles that damage your health, crowding up the road to somehow overcome??? Don’t even get me started with that nudge BS! While you are supposed to somehow “nudge” your vehicle when stuck, you can basically expect to lose half your health from getting rammed by the chaser cars... and everything else possible in the game to kill you... and that’s IF you are able to even get your car unstuck. Had to go ahead and uninstall. Great graphics though! ### 1/5 — One of the most frustrating games I’ve ever played *2020-04-02, version 1.2.2* When this game is actually running correctly and you’re in a decent car, this game can be a lot of fun. The other 80% of the time it’s frustrating as hell. Most of the cars are so bad they’re almost unplayable. There’s been countless times that I’ve spawned directly into traffic and gotten completely stuck. Half of the time you can’t even see or move over to the right side of the road. Get stuck behind a car or on a wall? Too bad your screwed and will have to restart. I expected much more from an Apple Arcade game. **Developer response:** Hi Jesse, Sorry that you're finding the game frustrating. Most people are enjoying the variety of cars, but preferring certain cars is not uncommon. In the next update (1.3), we'll be sure to focus on reducing frustration in the game. The camera view not letting you move to the side is a big one, along with better respawning, and letting you respawn (after a short timer) in races with a health bar. We'll also make it easier to bypass vehicles/races you don't enjoy. Hope you give the game a second chance when the update arrives later this Spring! ### 1/5 — An otherwise great game completely ruined by terrible controls *2020-02-23, version 1.2.2* Was a blast to play at first, then the handling got so inconsistent I couldn’t deal with it anymore. Sometimes my car has perfect grip and is super responsive, and when it does it makes me think this is one of the best games on arcade. But most of the time it won’t even turn the darn wheel making it unplayable. If you guys could fix that I’d give 5 stars without a doubt ### 2/5 — Fun for a short time and then aggravatingly unbalanced and impossible *2023-01-12, version 1.6.2* The first chapter of races in this game are very fun and addicting. Once you pass those the game becomes almost impossibly difficult. To the point of wanting to chuck your phone out a window. Wish I could give it a better rating but not with how quickly it became almost unplayable ### 2/5 — Ok... *2021-05-15, version 1.5.2* Graphics are good. Racing is good. The actual game play, with regard to making progress and leveling up, is garbage. Absolute rubbish. Very confusing and completely unintuitive. There is no means if simply picking up at the next thing you need to do. You have to sift through and look at your times or completions to see what you have and haven't done. And when you finish a level, there is no option to just go to the next thing. You get one option, play again. That's it. So while there are a lot of levels and the game play isn't bad, I'm not going to waste all my time trying to figure out where I left off every time I open the game. Uninstalled. ### 2/5 — An average shoot em up disguised as a driving game *2020-07-03, version 1.3.1* Like an old school c64 or SNES shoot em up but with none of the charm or game play. It’s not the best control mechanism or UX. Often I find the best ergonomic place to control your vehicle is also where your vehicle is, meaning you can’t see it because your thumb or finger is over the top of it. Or you end up hiding some of the obstacles/traffic. Sometimes the track rotates just at the wrong time to cause conflict with steering, not in a game mechanic kind of a way, just the frustrating game design kind. Highly repetitive game play. Not much point in having different levels or upgrades it’s all mostly the same grind. ### 3/5 — More luck than skill *2023-10-26* Remember that game on your old nokia phone where a ball drops through vertically scrolling platforms and you had to maneuver between staggered gaps in those platforms to keep the ball dropping? This is that same game but the ball is your car and the platforms are other moving cars and you maneuver between them. Great concept! The game becomes more difficult as you play and unlock and upgrade faster cars, again, just like that ball dropping game kept getting faster. How do you add more challenge to the game? They could have added more difficulty by making tracks with more curves or adding drift or boost mechanics like proper racing games like need for speed or asphalt do. Instead, they added difficulty with annoying pillars on the road that significantly slow you down if you hit 2-3 of them in a row. These pillars are everywhere and almost impossible to spot on a scrolling screen in topdown perspective. Add to that game modes like pursuit where other cars are intentionally bumping you into those pillars all the time and it becomes one big annoying grind to complete races. This is the lazy way to do a difficulty curve. The more you play this game, it becomes less about skill and more about luck. Add more interesting curves and more interesting driving mechanics instead of these annoying pillars. ### 3/5 — Please fix the stingray glitch *2023-01-04, version 1.6.2* Man this game is really fun but when you reach the stingray, you have to do a takedown challenge. It’s literally impossible. This is the issue with the game. Some of the levels are incredibly unbalanced, to the point that you skip them. At some point I beat all the levels until I made it to the stingray challenge. On the takedown challenge it’s so hard to shoot the missiles. Also some of the demons that you shoot don’t seem to give you any points for takedown. Grr. ### 3/5 — Seems rigged to not allow mission completion on first attempt *2022-11-20, version 1.6.2* The game is fine, but I notice the game will do everything in its power to stop you from getting 3 stars on your first attempt, but will feed 3 stars to you on a spoon the second attempt. Drivers these days are stupid and slow and make me so mad. I played this game one time and the vicarious destruction I caused in the game, helps out my road rage sooo much. Obviously I don’t play while driving. Every car in the game is tied to a vehicle in real life from the day prior. Makes me feel, free… lol. ### 5/5 — Suggestions *2022-07-26, version 1.6.2* It would be cool if you could add a free roam mode where you could decide what challenge you wanted to do, what car you wanted to use, and the distance. Another thing you could add could add is multiplayer! I would LOVE to play this game with my friend Lucas. You could also add a cinematic camera for epic screenshots and videos. It’s phenomenal. I love that it’s played up & down, not horizontally. I love the cars, the traffic, the effects, the mechanics, I could go on & on, but this update on an arcade classic is one of the best-executed ideas ever to come to your device. I applaud all those involved with its development. This game alone is worth whatever an Apple Arcade subscription costs. Play at your own risk, as it is extremely addictive! ### 5/5 — Great game!
