I’ve used this app both connected to a very slow internet as well as a fast fibre internet and the tests showed roughly the same numbers both. Talked on the store and scroll down a little bit found this one app, out of others because there aren't too many that are just on the dot. His equipment and this app read exactly the same for the speed test upload and download! ### 4/5 — Perfect app for wifi test. *2020-02-29, version 1.0* For all the idiots out there who are scared because of the location perms let me explain. In order for them to connect you to the closest server to test your bandwidth, they need to know where your device is located. Is that clear? Works great for what it meant to do and that's what important. I have no real choice in my Internet provider, and often my Xfinity connection drops or gets seriously throttled. I run a quick test with the app and then call Xfinity's Customer support. After a bit of techno babble I check again. The connection is always better. The wifi where I live is throttled down to under 5Mbps, even though it's a relatively new mesh system with hardware from Mesh Inc. (the crazy thing is that once in a great while, and for only a few minutes, I've seen over 100Mbps) I have no control over this since it's a cheap motel. So, it would be useful to have a scale with a 10Mbps full scale. A few negative reviews fail to understand that the app also lets you choose which servers you'd like it to test between. Default is your device to a national service providers server (local, very fast). You can also select a foreign server, in various countries, and it'll give you data transfer speeds to those countries.
