## What is Speedo & Co?

Turn your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch into a live cockpit dashboard for speed, heading, altitude, trip data, and motion.

Speedo & Co is built for travel by bike, car, boat, train, plane, or on foot. It combines a speedometer with compass, altimeter, clock, trip, position, grade, g-force, and artificial-horizon instruments in switchable layouts made for each device.

Make the dashboard your own. Choose from device-specific templates, swap instruments into slots on iPhone and iPad, and move through full-screen instruments on Apple Watch. Cycle accent colors, choose speed and altitude units, set 12- or 24-hour time, reset trip data, and calibrate motion when needed.

Turn on HUD mode to mirror the panel so its reflection on your windshield reads the right way round — set your device in a dash mount for a heads-up view while you drive.

The speedometer adapts from slower movement to faster travel, so the display stays useful whether you are walking, riding, driving, or flying as a passenger.

Speedo & Co Pro is available as a one-time purchase for specialty instruments and the trip Live Activity. Locked Pro instruments can still be previewed with live data before unlocking.

Location and motion access are used to power the live readings you choose to view.

In practice, a dynamic speedometer is a dangerous idea. It’s not possible to tell at a glance how fast you are going because the scale is constantly changing, making it dangerous to use.  

On top of that, the numbers are too small and the weight of the typeface too light, so you have to spend too much time deciphering the display, all of which should really be spent looking at the road.

The display doesn't stay on like other regular huds,it shuts down together with the phone if left untouched.You'd have to turn off the auto shutdown function of the phone display which is very annoying and primitive by today's standards.
