SpeedRead is a cozy reader with a speed-reading superpower. Tap any word in any book and it expands into a single-word RSVP stream — one word at a time, centered exactly where your eye naturally lands. The red ORP letter cuts eye movement to zero. You read faster because you stop moving your eyes. 300 WPM is comfortable. 500 WPM is books-in-a-day. 700 WPM is for when you have a flight to catch. SpeedRead now reads the real chapter list out of your EPUBs and PDFs, so you can jump straight to one. Long-press while reading on the watch and the chapters are right there. • A proper settings screen on Apple Watch. Long-press while reading to change speed, jump to a chapter, or go back to where you left off on your phone. • Your place is kept three ways: where you were reading, where you were last browsing, and the furthest you have ever reached. Flicking through chapters on the watch no longer overwrites your reading position on your phone — and when you open the phone afterwards, it asks before moving you. • The Digital Crown now scrolls the way you expect. • iPad gets a real bookcase instead of a stretched-out phone. • Fixes: books whose filenames contain a version number (like "Book v1.2") now import; a file named in capitals no longer keeps ".TXT" in its title; some EPUBs silently lost chapters and no longer do; VoiceOver and Voice Control can now reach the play and pause controls in speed-reading mode. ### 1.1 — 2026-05-24 SpeedRead now connects to your own e-book library. • Library Servers: add any catalog that speaks OPDS — Calibre, Calibre-Web, Calibre-Web-NextGen, Standard Ebooks, and more. • Browse, search, and download books straight into your local shelf. • Multi-server support — keep a personal library and a public catalog side by side. • Username/password sign-in is stored securely in the iOS Keychain.
