It is confirmed to be a firmware issue that Spektrum is fully aware of yet they do not take the module and software off the market. This is an absolute shamble and I couldn’t be more disappointed with Spektrum after years of supporting them. But no more, I’m done with Spektrum. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2024-02-12* Brand new Kraton 8s, installed this with the BT2000 and nothing works. Connects to phone but shows no data. It’s full of bugs, and even when it works the data is nonsense. On my last outing, my DBXL-2 had a max speed of 143mph. Sure it did... Whenever you change settings, the app loses sync with the car and stops displaying data. ### 1/5 — Warning STILL does not work !!!!! *2021-01-26, version 7* So downloaded the update today. Then app stopped working and shut down. Module now flashes and won’t connect. Uninstall and reinstall does no good. Went to check app updates in phone and within and hour of updating on my phone it has now disappeared. Frustrating- get it together Spektrum. Spent a lot of money on your products and they don’t work!!!! ### 1/5 — Where is the DX3 Bluetooth module support? *2020-10-23* On the box of my Arrma Felony and Losi Lazernut which both came with Spekrtum DX3 radios which on the box mention the app. It’s not possible to connect because the BT module is not available yet. ### 1/5 — FIX IT *2020-09-17, version 6.0* It crashes left right and centre on my phone once connected to the Bluetooth device . Trash , I just spent $40 on the Bluetooth device to get it to work. You get stuck in the endless cycle of a Bluetooth. None of the steps beyond that point will work no matter what you do. Delete the app download it again restart your phone power cycle your transmitter. It does not matter. Nothing works. Save your money in aggravation. Horizon hobbies should pull this from the shelf and from the App Store if it is a product does not work. I’m still waiting for a call back from support. Idk kinda stinky ### 1/5 — App stuck in update loop *2025-09-13* BT2000 device pairs to IOS 18.6.2 but unable to “forget”. Once BT2000 plugged into DX3 and paired in Dashboard app, it gets stuck in a loop trying to update bluetooth to ver 1.0.0.6. Updated DX3 to ver 1.11 with USB, but no change. ### 1/5 — Painful *2025-09-06* Lifetime RC enthusiast, 20 years electronics repair, and works in IT. I say that because, while I read other reviews, sometimes you wonder if it is experience. So I gambled the $30 for the module. This is in fact useless. Read on if you care to know why. At first, it paired and looked great! So I tossed the module package and put it aside until I could drive next. Powered everything up a week later, FW for Bluetooth hung at 0% no matter what I did. Can’t avoid it either. Finally a phone restart got the update to go past 0% and actually complete. BUT! On completion, the update tells you to forget the BT2000 and restart the app. Problem is, YOU CAN’T forget the module! The app won’t let you forget it. “Disconnect” greyed out. Held finger, swiped finger, nothing! The phone will forget the BT2000 in the Bluetooth settings, but not the app, so I am forced to re-run the update I just did over and over. I deleted and reinstall the app, still forced to do the same update over and over. No way to stop it. Yes, I restarted my phone again. Pulled the batteries and module from the transmitter. Nothing gets you out of the loop. This in-fact, useless. ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2025-08-21* Good luck if you use a iPhone. Even so it’s garbage and Spektrum doesn’t seem to care. I use this on both an iPhone & an Android. One would have features the other didn’t. Sometimes they’d magically appear, then disappear again. They correct mistakes & then remove key features from both. Like removing the model set up screen. WHY?! It’s a place to set up a profile for your rig & keep track of all the pertinent information like pinion & spur tooth count, ESC model, motor model & all the other specs on your particular rig. This app already had issues & then while fixing the bugs decided to ruin it. BRING BACK THE MODEL SET UP! ### 1/5 — Oof *2024-11-19* App is pretty embarrassing. Doesn’t fit the phone screen correctly. Doesn’t update the module firmware. Doesn’t display the data it’s supposed to from the RC. Really disappointing this level of app development exists in 2024. If you’re reading this and thinking of adding a Bluetooth module to your transmitter don’t. They even took the app of the apple app store and still when they put it back still never worked. Spektrum and horizonhobby should return every customers money with out wuestion. I called and all they said is that there working on a solution and still want to charge me over $20 tu return the crap they sold me for $14.
