### 4/5 — No Pro Option

*2022-09-01*

App is great and just what I needed. The only issue is some of the features I would like to use are pro mode only, and the in app purchase option appears to no longer be functioning.

### 4/5 — Good Functionality, but too hard on the Sell!

*2022-03-07*

I like this app as a reference for my spells per day, and it’s great for that, but since I don’t need the app for tracking items and such, I prefer the free version. The free version has a splash page asking if you want to upgrade to the paid subscription version every time you open the app, and even after dismissing that, there is always a line item on the sheet advertising the paid version. I swear, I would happily pay a flat fee to just get rid of the persistent ads.

### 3/5 — Missing lots of classes and races,

*2020-08-06, version 4.7.0*

No kitsune race or ninja class :( this won’t work for my character at all

### 3/5 — Its good, but mehh

*2019-07-18, version 3.0.2*

I like the fact that you can see the spells on the phone instead of the book.
But at the same it would be great that we could see what does the spell while we are creating the character.
For 6,99$ on IOS, its not that worth.
Would be nice to have some descriptions on the features that we put on our character.

### 3/5 — Help

*2019-07-11, version 3.0.2*

I can not change my characters stats because the numberpad is covering the #%¥%$ save sign. Backing up just erases the numbers I just input

### 4/5 — Pretty great but room for improvement

*2019-06-22*

I like how you can track the timing of your spell casting, but it would be nice if you had a place where you can list the wands you have so you can track the duration of those spells.

### 5/5 — Complete Package

*2019-06-21*

I only just installed this app for the first time, but I’m already impressed. They pull content from seemingly everything ever.

Complete and up to date. Everything a Pathfinder Caster needs.

### 5/5 — Practically Perfect

*2019-03-20*

This is exactly the app I’ve been searching and hoping for. Really the only things I’d change are adding the option to add custom spells and track more things (which I know are currently in development). Other than that it’d be cool if we could choose to pull the spell descriptions from from Archives of Nethys, but this isn’t in any way a dealbreaker for me.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-10-17, version 2.2.3*

I got this app because I’d never played a magic user before and I found it incredibly confusing having to keep track of spellbook spells and casts per day and it all sort of overwhelmed me a little. Safe to say it works beautifully and has made the whole process so much easier.

### 5/5 — Does what I wanted

*2018-05-31*

Does exactly what I wanted, lets me keep track of spells I have prepared and cast, I hope there is a way to apply meta Magic’s in future, or that there already is and I am blind

**Developer response:** As of version 2.2.2, metamagic is now available. You can add your metamagic feats in the character editor, then use them on the prepare and cast spells screens. I hope you enjoy it! Feel free to send any feedback to ben@casterlevel.com.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Missing and Incorrect Spells

*2023-09-28*

Has potential, but making my Druid spell book I realized there are missing spells, spells that are incorrect level, etc. Wish this could be functional for me, but it’s simply not.

### 1/5 — Lost everything

*2022-10-03*

Used to love this app until it logged me out for no reason and now claims my password is incorrect and won’t let me reset it. Had been using for quite a while for my now level 16 wizard and now I have to rebuild that character’s spellbook from scratch

### 1/5 — No more server support?

*2022-09-26*

Was using the app for the past month and it was great! But now I can’t log in, reset a password, or even make a new account. All the spells I had for my character? GONE!

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2022-09-22*

Unusable app. No ability to create an account as there appears to no longer be any server support for this platform. Wish I could rate 0 stars.

### 1/5 — Want my money back.

*2018-06-01, version 2.1.9*

Why do I need to sign up for some account just to use this app? I’m guessing the developer makes money selling e-mail addresses to advertisers or something. Give me my money back.

### 2/5 — Bloodrager

*2025-02-24, version 4.9.3*

I just saw the latest update notes that the bloodrager had it caster level reduced by 3. It shouldn’t be. Their caster level is supposed to by RAW and RAI equal to their level.

### 2/5 — Sad

*2020-06-08, version 4.5.1*

Too many classes and archetypes are missing! 😕 Otherwise it would have been perfect!

### 2/5 — Keeps reverting to older spell lists

*2020-03-20*

Great in theory, but keeps reverting to older sets of spell selections costing me hours of work. Also says it doesn’t connect to the internet even though my internet connection is fine.

**Developer response:** Hi, sorry for this! I'd love to fix this bug. If you get a moment, could you please go the menu and tap "Report bug"? That will give me a little extra information that will hopefully allow me to fix this for you.

### 3/5 — If only…

*2024-02-10*

If only the app was still living… I would gladly pay for pro upgrade. It’s still usable for my warpriest spells however

### 3/5 — Great app but locked out of pro features

*2022-03-08*

Base app is great to use.
Would like option to add custom spells or spells from other spell lists (such as from feats, archetypes, and other sources)
Tried to upgrade in app and met with message that states the store cannot be reached. No option to upgrade via App Store.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Some improvements can be made, but it’s amazing

*2021-02-20, version 4.9.3*

This app is amazing! I got it to help me with the sheer amount of spells in pathfinder. Seeing all my spells in a neat area is amazing. Although it would be nice if it would have class and racial abilities. But so fat it’s amazing. I’m also in love with the more info button.

### 5/5 — Awesome app,just needs some refinement

*2021-01-27*

This is an awesome idea,I have been looking for forever basically to find a spell tracker that works and I’ve found it! It just needs some bug fixes with prepared spells and the daily allotment of spells for druid is off but overall it runs great and I love it!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! I’d love to fix any inaccuracies for your druid ASAP - could you please send me some details to ben@spelltrackerapp.com? All the best, Ben

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-11-24, version 4.9.2*

This works great. I like that you can access the spell descriptions and that you can add spells from other classes. I am playing a home brew class with acces to sorcerer and Druid spells so this is very useful to me. It would be nice if the spell descriptions were built in instead of linking to the open reference as it would load faster that way. Would love to see support for class abilities and condition tracking as well.

### 5/5 — Sane app for the insanity of mathfinder

*2020-08-08*

Enjoying this so far. Math finder is a headache but my buddies like playing it and this makes playing a caster a much more sane idea imo.

### 5/5 — Yes

*2020-05-31, version 4.5.1*

You will not be disappointed

### 5/5 — Fantastic app and even better customer service

*2020-05-14*

I ran into a weird issue trying to create a new character and reached out. Ben got back to me right away and helped me trouble shoot the problem and got everything working as intended. Of course there was nothing wrong with the app, I just had an old version. Super timely response and very gracious. Thanks again!!!!

### 5/5 — Good Stuff

*2020-01-16, version 4.2.0*

Fantastic App, just wish there was a bit more support for classes like arcanist that can re-prepare spells in the middle of the day. A way to switch out slots without having to re-prepare the entire list would be great!

### 5/5 — A very happy DM.

*2020-01-15*

I bought this app on whim because being fairly new to Pathfinder, spells were always a hassle with our group and have sucked up a huge part of our sessions. Having all the spells in one place with the specific rules only a click away, is going to streamline things for our group by saving hours of time. The design of the app is simple and very functional. To top it off, after purchasing the app, I had a question to clarify something regarding the premium version and I received a response from the developer almost immediately who was friendly and helpful. Happy to support developers like this!

### 5/5 — Excellent app and customer service

*2020-01-01*

I’ve tried quite a few spell management apps and this one is, by far, the most complete and easy to use. I’d also like to give high marks to the developer for his customer service. I emailed in June, 2019 asking if the app supported Rings of Wizardry. I received a reply very quickly letting me know that the app didn’t currently support them but it was something they’d look into. 6 months later, the developer sent me a note letting me know that the app now supported Rings of Wizardry! Very impressed with the excellent customer service and I’m really excited to try the new features. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2019-08-22*

This app has a very clean UI. It’s easy to use, intuitive for character creation, allows you to create multiple characters, and even multiclass! Also, it has even the most obscure spells! Seriously, there wasn’t a single spell out of the 98 that my wizard currently has that wasn’t already listed. The collapsible spell lists by level are a nice design choice.

The app lets you pick your prepared spells for the day, with an option to repeat your spells from the previous day, which is nice. When picking prepared spells (for a wizard) the last spell you pick for each level is your specialized school spell. Once you’ve made all the choices but that last spell, all the spells not in your specialized school disappear from the options section.

I actually wish that the specialized spells were in a different section, or that the app would recognize if I already had a spell of that school, thus didn’t need to specifically pick one. Also, I tend to leave a few open slots for quick memorization later in the day, and since you have to pick all your spells to get to the specialized spell, that’s not an option. Not hard to get around, because once you’ve picked all your spells, you can unprepare a spell, thus giving yourself an empty slot, but it would be nice if I didn’t have to hack it. Really though, that’s pretty minor. This app is pretty great.
