Well.. now you can! Spellbook transforms your Apple Watch into a magic wand.. really! -- How does it work though? 8 different spell patterns have been recorded - the motions are displayed on the iPhone app, in the spell book. These different spells have motions. Extreme amounts of wrist data recording those spell patterns has been fed into machine learning, which the watch can now recognise. Improvements are always being made, but the accuracy is very high so far! The spells are: Lucernas — Upward chevron ∧ — Summon the light Obscura — Wave into a C — Banish it Repello — Right then down — Disarming force Subleva — U shape with a flick — The lifting charm Scutum — Straight line up — Raise your shield Amplora — Rightward chevron > — Amplify and enlarge Sistere — M shape — Halt all motion Aperio — Up then circle — Unlock and open Exanima — Lightning bolt — Killing curse Mineura — Left chevron — Reduce Each spell can be renamed! If you'd rather say Lumos than Lucernas, or Expelliarmus instead of Repello — rename them whatever you like. Fans of a "certain wizarding world" will feel right at home. -- What happens when a spell is detected? On your phone, or watch, you can setup actions when a spell is detected. For example, Lumos - the light enabling spell, I would like it to turn on my bedroom light with HomeKit. I would also like to turn it off when I perform Nox - the light dimming spell. You can even add custom spell sounds (provided by yourself). Imagine Lumos and a "light" sound is made. Also, optional haptic feedback to make it feel real! -- What can I control? - HomeKit lights — any room, any scene, any brightness level - Individual accessories — toggle switches, smart plugs, sensors - iPhone controls — media playback, brightness, etc (with attunement mode!) - Attunement — rotate your wrist clockwise / anticlockwise after you cast a spell to control brightness, hue, etc! - On-screen spell reveal on iPhone — dark, cinematic, dramatic -- Can I fine tune the settings? Everyone casts differently. Spellbook lets you dial in detection to match your style — adjust onset sensitivity, gesture speed, confidence threshold, and cooldown timing. Go precise and deliberate, or fast and snappy. Settings sync instantly to your Watch over WatchConnectivity. -- DUELLING MODE?!?! Yes, you can battle your friends over MultiPeer connection (no WiFi needed!) Just make sure you're in duelling range! -- Privacy? Everything works entirely on-device. No cloud processing. No account. -- Requirements? An Apple Watch is required. Spell recognition is based on wrist motion — there is nothing to do on iPhone alone. It feels more magical, and when you cast a wrong spell - you're also now shown on screen. Also, improvements have been made when the watch is in idle mode (when you rotate the watch just enough, the screen turns dim - sending data to the phone during that state is difficult, but it's been massively improved!). More updates coming soon - which will feature model improvements on spell detection, and more! ### 1.0.8 — 2026-08-13 This build contains connectivity improvements on both wrists, and right wrist improvements. Also improved the UI slightly and added some more interactivity when casting spells. Way more cool stuff coming soon.. enjoy! ### 1.0.7 — 2026-06-08 Duelling mode improvements! Big improvements to the duelling mode. Right Wrist! Beta support for now for right wrist mode, still needs some improvements. ### 1.0.6 — 2026-05-27 DUELLING MODE! In this version, you are now able to duel with your friends! Simply open the duelling screen and find your opponent through multipeer connection. Free / Premium All spells are now FREE. You can practice and perform your spells over and over. But actions / sounds / duelling / etc are premium features. The price is extremely low and you're supporting a solo developer if you purchase. Improvements Small improvements here and there, detection is better. New Spells (not ready yet) You asked.. the big one is almost ready! Coming next Right wrist mode + optional vocal activation alongside gesture! Coming after Second layer improvements on left wrist mode! ### 1.0.5 — 2026-04-28 Detection Improvements Now when the wrist is in "idle" mode (wrist slightly to the left, and screen goes off) - the detection on companion watch app should be much better. Attunement Improvements General improvements to Attunement mode, and it now makes sure that a light is on before controlling it. UI Improvements Much much more!
