## What is Spelling Fox?

Spelling Fox turns spelling practice into play. Built for children ages 6 to 10, it lets a grown-up choose the words and lets kids learn them through a set of friendly, hands-on games.

A GROWN-UP SETS IT UP
Behind a parent gate (PIN or Face ID), you create a profile for each child and choose what they practice — grade-level sight words, themed sets like Animals, Food, and Feelings, or your own words. You can even photograph a printed spelling list and the app turns it into a word set for you.

KIDS LEARN BY PLAYING
Children spell words by tapping letters, arranging syllables, filling in a sentence, matching pictures, or saying the letters out loud. Words become "mastered" only after a child spells them correctly across several sessions, so learning sticks. A story-mode adventure keeps them coming back.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No accounts. No ads. No tracking. Everything your family creates stays on your device. Speech recognition and photo text-reading happen entirely on-device — nothing is ever uploaded.

Practice this week's list — and set the pace that fits your child.

• A shelf of third-grade spelling bee word lists now leads the catalog, including week-by-week sets.

• Before a round, your child can pick which word sets to practise from — just right for the night before a test on one of them.

• Grown-ups can set the pace of the two timed games: how long the clock starts at, how much a correct word buys back, and how fast the letters appear.

• Tap a word on the dashboard to see its mastery streak — days banked out of three — and spot the words that need another look.

• A speaker button on both play screens turns the music off, no parent PIN needed.

• Words with an apostrophe, like o'clock, can be spelled now: the keyboard offers the key when it's needed.

• Long words stay on one row of letter tiles instead of wrapping.

Listen & Say now listens the way children actually spell.

• Take your time. Pausing between letters no longer throws away the letters you already said.

• Letters come out right more often, so there's less to fix before you check your answer.

• If your iPad isn't ready to listen yet, the game says so plainly — and starts itself the moment it is.

Built for iPad — and two fixes that could stop a child playing.

• Fixed a crash at launch. On some iPads the app quit a second or two after opening. It doesn't any more.

• Listen & Say now sets itself up. It asks for the microphone as soon as you open the game, and starts on its own once the iPad has finished preparing on-device listening — no more closing and reopening the app.

• Made for iPad: bigger type, roomier buttons, and a layout that uses the whole screen, in the games, the Story map and the Parent Area alike.

• The welcome screen now fills the display, and the game headings in Practice are easier to read.
