He’s really motivated to collect all the golden trees. In the sight word levels, some of the pronunciations given by the robotic female voice are really weird and confusing. I have to sit by my son while he uses the app so that I can intervene and restate a word correctly, otherwise he’ll spell it as it’s pronounced and get frustrated when it’s wrong. For example, “at” is pronounced “et” “and” is “end” “we” is “wih” “she” is “shih” “for” is “fur” The words pronounced by the (human?) male voice in the more advanced levels are spoken correctly. Maybe he could lend his voice to the sight words too? **Developer response:** Thank you for your advice. It would be absolutely lovely to have your voice in the app. We might consider this feature in the upcoming versions. Currently, all word pronunciations are provided by the Collins English Dictionary, where one word is pronounced differently in several ways. At the moment we are double checking the pronunciation we pick for each word to make sure we use the proper one in the app. Again, your feedback is much appreciated. I want to delete this, but I can’t. ### 1/5 — Glitches and No Response from App maker *2026-04-14* There are glitches all throughout the different levels that prevent you from completing and you cannot move on the another level at a certain point rendering the app useless. BUT! Today we opened the app to find all her progress gone! There was no option offered to sign in and restore. I’ll be happy to give 5 stars if our progress can be restored. Thank you for your understanding. ### 1/5 — Cannot disable lightbulb answers *2020-11-20* On the page there is a cheat lightbulb that gives away the answer. No way to disable it. Need it to be disabled. Otherwise very good app. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. The Lightbulb Hint Switch will be added to Spelling Fun in settings in the next version(V1.11). Thanks to educational games that kids enjoy playing. ### 4/5 — Works well with Apple Pencil *2021-01-11* My son loves spelling his words with the Apple Pencil instead of trying to slowly search through the keyboard. The act of writing out the word is what I love most. Please add the ability to create our own word lists so we can use this app to practice his school spelling lists.
